ok i know this is rather OCD about me but with how bad my mind works being ADHD and having a memory half like a goldfish, i thought id use this to get a greater running start to joining this more officially

First
to be sure when going through RP listings that are active i would like to gather a list of names of everyone active so it is MMUUUUCCCCHHHHHH easier to identify which RPs are dead because of abandonment and which at least have people still available for them

Second
if it isnt too much to ask i would like to ask that as the roll call is ascertained that a list of RPs you have made that either are currently active or still have great interest in starting

Thirdly
a short discription of those RPs would be nice... please? maybe a link? please? crying

well that explains why it seems so hard to find something of interest, rather bad at 1x1s currently XD

i would hope to get a list collected to have them bagged, tagged and filed neatly and peacefully here XD

Hmmmm.... while I can see the merit of several of your ideas I fear they will be impossible to maintain and enforce. This guild is meant to be a nice chilled out place to come and relax, and as Kuro said most of the active RPers are one-on-one and as such they will determine between themselves if a RP is still active or not. Whenever I see one that has been listed as dead I move it to the graveyard (I hate deleting RPs, it's such a shame given how much work everyone had put into them).

So..... addressing your suggestions in order.
1) We do have a thread that is designed to give members an opportunity to announce when they are away on break, though this seems to remain inactive most of the time there are a lot of active RPers within the guild. Since RPs are the responsibility of the RPers it is up for them to determine which of their RPs are active and to contact their partners for status updated. For example, I myself have been having a rough time in RL presently so I 'poofed' for a while, as such my replies have been snail slow. That doesn't mean I am inactive, simply a temp hiatus. I think you simply need to decide on WHAT kind of RP you want, start a search thread, and find some RPers. I have noticed though that a lot of our RPers seem to prefer one-on-one, though I do know a few who are willing to try group RPs. The only problem obviously is that keeping a group active and motivated is much harder, especially if there is a huge wait between multiple players posting, even if the gap is down to something as simple as timezone differences.

2) Again, tracking your active RPs is up to the RPer, and if the thread doesn't say 'seeking' or 'open' or something similar anyone not already associated with the RP should simply ignore/overlook it as such RPers don't generally accept a third party unless otherwise specified. You could always try PMing someone who is in an RP you like to possibly do a twisted version or something similar with them if a particular RP catches your interest.

3) I am not sure why you would need this? Most group RPs do generally give an introduction post, in fact, so do several one on one RPs, however this will not become a 'must' since there are so many different styles of RPers within the guild. We have people who like to jump straight in without a profile and only a few ideas about how to start; such as Kidnapping and werewolves from rival packs.... or Arranged marriage between a vampire and a werewolf. Then there are those who write small novels, and those that only write a few lines so that the RP moves quicker and allows for easy stress free replies. Some like to give lots of introduction details, set the scene right down to what the world around them looks like and even going into detail on some of the creatures within said world. So yes, it is all down to the style of the RPers involved and I for one wouldn't feel right trying to force people into a particular format and therefore risk stifling their creativity.

The other issue is that I do not believe any of the 'staff' have time to organise lists and such things, since I predict they use their spare time to actually RP and chill out instead. I know I wouldn't have time to do it, and I might actually come to resent it if I was forced to haha......

I do however, hope that you find a good person or group to RP with. Like I have said in the 'Introduction thread' and via PM, if you post an idea or three I am sure someone active who is wanting to take on more RPs will come sniffing around and snap one up. So good luck! smile

If you are just trying to make the search smaller and easier, then AGAIN my advice is to start a thread in this part of the guild (the RP and partner search) along with several ideas, or profiles, or just a starting post that says "I want to RP, who wants to play with me? I am looking for **blah blah blah**" There are people within the guild that while active are not looking to take on more RPs, or who will only come out of stalking/lurking when they find an idea that actually appeals to them. Making a list of active members, active RPs and stuff like that won't actually help you to narrow down your search. And, if I am honest, sometimes it all comes down to the personality of the person you are RPing with, I have been in RPs that have fantastic ideas and stuff but have lost motivation because of the other player them self, be it how they comment, the subtle undercurrent to their RPing style.... so it is a case of trail and error, and this isn't something that can be listed and catalogued outside of you actually giving someone a try, something that will only happen once you pick an idea, find a partner (or partners) and go from there.

As for your question, no, I did not copy and paste anything, I wrote everything in the flow of my argument and while some points might be similar or near identical it is simply coincidence and the fact that things haven't changed between our PMed conversation and here.

In all honesty, I am not actually sure EXACTLY what you are requesting. Who do you expect to do it? Why does it even matter to you if say, three of my RPs are active and two aren't.... when you can not participate in any of the one-on-ones anyway since both positions are already filled? While it might be organised to start with I can see it quickly becoming a pain.... and then there is the argument, if the system isn't broken, why fix it?

However, when you get started and start actually RPing, there is nothing to say that you can not make a post in your search thread that catalogs your RPs, listing the other player, the active status of the RP and whatever other nuggets of information you might want, including a blurb of the RP itself. This would be your responsibility to maintain.

Good luck finding an Action/Adventure with laced humour. I am sure someone will nibble at your fishing line if you provide a few more details. I advice starting a new thread for your search. Since this one has become a discussion for other things and so your request is likely to be overlooked here in lieu of everything else. <3
