So... new to the guild, and I figured to show off my stuff. If you missed my post in the Chitter-Chatter, I work at d**k Blick Art Materials, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. (I don't bite!)

{ x } <-- There are images of nude models on there. If you don't like seeing the dangly bits of a human, then don't click. This is my partially completed portfolio. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with all my artwork.... so I have stuff all over the place.

I also paint miniatures! I'm posting it here and not in 'crafts', because this ain't no craft. emotion_donotwant I win contests and do commissions.

Sweet stuff! Are the miniatures your own creations, or are they depictions of characters from someone else?

The painting on the miniatures is of my own doing. I wish I was awesome enough to have sculpted them, but alas, I did not.

You can purchase kits from companies and they're nothing more than loose bits. You then have to refine the pieces from the molding process, piece them together, and paint them.

Putting together all of those tiny bits would be hard for me to do. gonk
You did a really good job blended and contoured the parts of the characters.
What sort of techniques did you use? A fine sponge to blend Raek's grays, and diluted out black paint to contour Konosuke's torso?

Thanks. xD

And I wish... these guys are really way too small for that. The Raek is probably only 1.5" tall, two probably at the highest point of his tail. Konosuke is probably about 3", at the tip of the flag points. All I could really do was a TON of super thin glazes and just layer colors together. I bought an airbrush recently, so I'm hoping that will help me speed up base-coating, since a newer model that I was working on which is a dark elf character riding a caribou mount took me several days just to finish the caribou himself. I still haven't even begun to work on the rider yet. ><

That's so cool!!
I didn't think that they would be that small. They'll make a really cute collection though. =D
Thanks for sharing your technique and your artwork. I hope you keep up the great work!

There are some that are even smaller, trust me. xD I got these little dog models from a convention I went to recently. They're probably only a 1/2" tall each.

Thank you. :3
