Sophie often takes things seriously, leaving her to be a bit of a downer during jokes, and her little knowledge of the world makes her curious and ask questions a lot. She does sometimes lose track of thought, and can wander off if not kept an eye on. However, she is reliable for the most part--as long as you remember to tell her that something is a secret, and she is extremely loyal. Having no family until recently, she tends to create her own little families from the friends she makes.

Sophie, whose name is derived from the Sopheria flower, was found on Lhant Hill by two of her friends, Asbel and Hubert. When she met them, she had no memories of her past or how she got to Lhant Hill in the first place, so trusted Asbel and Hubert to help her. It wasn't until after meeting Cheria that she was given the name Sophie by Asbel. That day, they met Prince Richard, and after fighting off an assassin to save the prince's life, she, Asbel, and Richard--the only three present--formed a Friendship Pact by carving their names on the tree at Lhant Hill. They knew each other for a short time before Sophie was killed in a battle--or, so everyone thought.
Nine years passed after Sophie's alleged death, and she reappeared on Lhant Hill when Asbel and Cheria were in danger. Her memories of the two, along with Hubert and Richard, had been forgotten as well, but she had a sense that Asbel was who she could trust. So, she stuck with him and refused to leave his side just as she had done nine years before. As their journey to find Sophie's memories, who Asbel had re-promised, progressed, they were sucked into a lot of chaos orbiting their friend Richard, who Sophie felt she could not trust....But, at the same time, she wanted to. For a few months, she remained confused and torn at this until it is discovered why: Sophie is a humanoid created to battle Lambda, the evil energy that has possessed Richard. At this point, Sophie has regained her memories of her friends.
After a battle with the possessed Richard at World's Eye, Sophie was severely injured; she lost her sight, and was beginning to break apart into particles. To save her, she and her friends went to Fodra to see if they could save her. They succeeded, and returned with a humanoid created to store a Fodran's memories named Emeraude to defeat Lambda. Emeraude betrayed them, however, and Lambda was able to escape with Richard to the core of their world. Though they knew that the only chance they would have to save Ephinea was to kill Richard and destroy Lambda, Sophie accompanied them; on the promise she would not use the Mutual Destruction Function to do so, which would destroy both Lambda and herself. The battle ensued, and Sophie saw no other way to keep her friends safe and apologized to her friends before approaching the dark energy being. However, Asbel forced himself ahead and absorbed her enemy into his mind. She could not destroy Asbel, and accepted this decision of his.
Half a year passed after this incident, and the only difference in Asbel was that one of his eyes had turned purple, and that was the eye Lambda used to observe the world as part of the deal Asbel made with him; a deal Sophie knows all about. Asbel didn't seem different at all, not like Richard had, and she came to trust Asbel's strength. However, she began to worry about what would happen to her when her friends died. She was a humanoid, so she couldn't die. She wanted to be human, so that she wouldn't have to live with being separated from Asbel and the others forever. During the quest to find out what was happening with the monsters, they encountered Little Queen, who was the guardian of Fodra's Core, who had grown to hate humans after being experiment on. It was she who ultimately destroyed Fodra, but her revival had spawned new life on the bare planet.
Sophie was offered to come live with Little Queen in order to quell her lonliness, since Little Queen couldn't die either. However, because Little Queen wanted to destroy Ephinea and everyone on it, Sophie refused and tried to reason with the guardian. She only got through to her after she and her friends defeated her at Fodra's Core, and Little Queen merged with Sophie, which changed her body into an adult's. However, she is able to switch back if she had to. Now, Sophie lives peacefully with Asbel in Lhant, who adopted her as his daughter, and will continue to live in order to watch over Asbel's dream and their worlds.
