This is where queens and their kits sleep. It is made sure that the bracken and leaves are woven together more tightly to keep out weather and predators.

Frostkit nuzzled his sister, checking if he was awake. She wasn't. He put his head back down and succumbed to sleep, again. He dreamt of chasing a butterfly around, he eventually caught it, but something wasn't right...
Spiritkit dreamt of wrestling with her brother and winning. She went looking for Spottedpath to tell her all about it, but she couldn't find her. She heard the sneering of the cats like when she was a kit, but now, she had no one to protect her..

Dawnkit yawned, licking her flank down and getting up. She watched as her clanmates inside the nursery slept, no longer sleepy herself. Sticking her head outside of the opening, Dawnkit saw that some warriors were out and about.

"How have you been? Are you being good with the queens? Have you been feeling okay? Are you eating enough? Are the other kits being nice to you?" Spottedpath padded into the nursery. She dipped her head respect to the leader. She padded past both of them, her green eyes calm as ever. She said her greetings to the kit's mother, also thanking her that she was taking care of the kits. She nuzzled Frostkit and Spiritkit, they were already awake. They were also almost apprentices, but they were a moon behind Dawnkit. Frostkit wanted to know about his biological mother, but Spiritkit wanted to know about what happened that day. She sighed and mewed calmly, "your mother's name was Ice, and she was a rouge- Spiritkit, I'll get to you in a bit!- Anyways, although she was a rouge, she was my friend. That doesn't meant that you should be trying to be friends with rouges, a lot of them are mean and would snap your neck in a second if they could." Spiritkit squeaked with horror, but recovered quickly, and instantly wanted to know more. Spottedpath continued, "well, the reason I was friends with her was because I got the clan to take her in while she was carrying you two. She was going to join the clan as a warrior, after you two became apprentices, but died while giving birth to you." Spottedpath's eyes grew sad. She wished that their mother could actually be here, but Starclan must know what they're doing.
Spiritkit had forgotten her question, and was not sad, but rather happy. She was glad she had Spottedpath as a mother. She looked at her brother to see if he felt the same way. He did not. He seemed mortified that he had killed his mother. Spottedpath seemed sad, she didn't quite understand why.
Frostkit was scared. He had killed his mother! After a minute of thinking, he decided that it wasn't his fault. She sighed with relief, his eyes confused, but happy. He was glad he had been born in the clan, that meant he was Clan-born! Even if he was the son of a rouge, the other cats had no right to treat him any differently!

As Spottedpath went up to her favorite bundles of fur Sunstar decided to go and pick up some prey with Dawnkit. He stretched his legs and left the nursery.
