As you well know, I've been trying to get a teaching job in Japan for some time now. Well, today, I got THE phonecall. I'm going to Japan! xd I'm leaving July 27th, and will most likely not be around for the ball. However, don't despair! I will make sure that this room has a test thread and everything else ready before I leave. But, with me gone, that means that someone else is going to have to step up to the plate. So, as of July 28ths, who wants to be the room host? biggrin (or secondary if Inky bumps up) Here are some details:
Things I will do
Get the graphics/art orders processed
Get the rules list ready
Get the room plot in final form (after we get the games details done)
Supervise and poke as needed to make sure that games are completed
Make sure the contests are ready
Troubleshoot like crazy
Set up the test thread
Get a practice RP going
Thing you will do
Make sure that everyone shows up
Adjust the pacing as needed based on pace
Change the front page to reflect a lot of contest junk
Make threads and handle voting for room king and queen
Poke people as needed
Handle emergency crisis management
Do the actual roleplaying (not as my character)

I'm not really a room member, or really know you personally, but congratulations!
I've heard mention of this around, and I'm glad to hear you've made it! Not many of us have as noble aspirations as education and international cooperation, so this truly is a great accomplishment! 3nodding

Congrats Chibi, I'm so happy for you!
Also I promise whoever steps in as room host I won't bite...I just nibble affectionately and only if you smell like cake or bacon.
I suppose I could take over the helm though I don't feel I've done a very good job even being a co-host as of right now. Life has been kind of hectic...but I'll do my damndest!

GalateasFire Congrats Chibi!! biggrin I think the other part of this message needs some serious thinking, at least on my part. I think you'd do a great job if you decide to do it! It will mostly involve keeping games going, and updating scores and such. Then, there's also the trouble-shooting when someone doesn't show up for a pre-planned event and such, but that's not too bad. You just improvise the plot a little. xd

Malomy has some experience at hosting, so I think that she could also do a great job. Gwen has shown up to all (most?) of the meetings, and has really been quick on getting all of her stuff in, so I think she could also do a great job. Being able to make a time commitment and get junk done promptly are probably the two biggest requirements for the job. That, and answering guest questions. heart

In case you missed the meeting, Gwen agreed to take over for me during the ball. She will handle the king and queen junk that is so evil and time consuming. Inky, you will still be the point person. G-Fire will manage all of the in-plot games. Mal will puppet my character. Between all of these things, you should do just fine without me. biggrin
