Christiane (Altair and anyone Prussian would pronounce her name as 'kris-tee - ann - ay' ,french would pronounce it 'kris-teen') De'ceon had been raised as a Princess of a powerful and influential country of the time, however as of late they had been having trouble with a neighboring country (i left it open for you smile )...many did not think it would escalate, however they were quite wrong. Both countries being large and powerful, and both refusing to back down from their usual ally, thinking the other would relent, the war grew worse and worse. It ravaged land and people alike, no casualties were spared...unless you were a noble.

Christiane was playing chess quietly one day with one of her tutors when she was summoned to her father's study. The war affected her little, she knew of it, and kept herself informed, however until now she hadn't cared much about it with the exception of her slight disdain of the other country. Upon entering his chambers she was told that her father had finally found her a suitable husband, and that she would be sent to marry him within two months! Christiane was elated, they had put off her marriage for much too long now, her being the last princess, all of her sisters married to wealthy nobles and cousins, Christiane was the last valuable asset to use by marriage. She was informed that their enemy had been squabbling over the failing health of it's current ruler and who would take the throne after he died...that is until recently.

The next in line to be king would still need a wife however to produce heirs, blood was everything. He had already spoken to his advisers, and to the current ruler of France's advisers, who also agreed it would be a wonderful marriage for both countries, the king wouldn't have much choice in the matter.

Christiane thought of all of this as she boarded the carriage with her belongings and her adviser, a man by the name of Altair, he was older, in his mid thirties, and charismatic. She had been told of her engagement and given her orders on how to handle it. Knowing this Christiane would make easy work of her new position...she was a real jewel at court and it seemed everyone warmed up to her easily. But why wouldn't they? Christiane wasn't just beautiful, she was brilliant, witty, charming, and could have any man turn to puddy in her hands. She exceeded all of her eldest sisters and easily rose to her brother's ranks of usefulness to her father and to her country.

Upon entering the borders of France Christiane entered a tent that and was forced to strip down, she was then redressed in entirely customary clothing, the most fashionable money could buy, and Christiane did all of this with dignity and grace, because she knew it would happen. If Christiane was to marry the new king, the people wanted to make sure she held sympathies for their country, thus this was a symbolic and political act, most women held objections, however Christiane couldn't be happier about her engagement and her new status, knowing that everything she did was one step closer to queen of one of the most powerful countries around.

Meanwhile the young suitor who would be Christiane's husband was told his soon to be wife was 17 years of age, she was a Princess of (made up country XD) , her father being the King, and her mother being his cousin. This would all speak to her breeding, which was important, he was also given a small painting of her. A beautiful girl with bright blue eyes, blonde hair, pink lips, and fair, perfect skin. He was also informed that the king of France had taken care of his engagement present to her, a bright blue jeweled pendant that she wore on a necklace in the painting. Around court, while many would speak of a distaste for the girl, they had nothing negative to say about her. Rumors of her from the dignitaries who were here to relay messages from the rulers always said that she was a breath of fresh air.

Today would be their first meeting as Christiane stepped out of the carriage, followed by Altair. She was dressed in a deep blue dress with silver accents and embroidering, her fair hair pulled up into high curls laced with small pearls. Also accompanying her was one of the king's closest cousins who was older to him and extremely close to the king, a name named Alexander. Alexander held his arm out for her and she gladly accepted it as he led her to the entrance of the palace, where her fiancee and a few of his cousins would be waiting to meet her.

"May I introduce Christiane De'Ceon, your fiancee. She bowed her head and then gave him a smile, she was wearing the pendant given to her as an engagement present around her neck,"It is an honor to finally meet you."
(and uhm you can have Alexander introduce him as well i dunno what you want his name to be)

Usually this meeting would have been done closer to the borders and she would have taken the carriage home with her fiancee, giving them a chance to get to know each other, but due to certain circumstances, him escorting her temporary chambers until the wedding, the day after tomorrow, would have to do.

Alexis Katre was born into a powerful Royal family of the kingdom of France. IT was at war with its neighbor Prussia and went on for years. As he grew up, he was groomed to become a fighter for France, to fight with a variety of weapons along with studying politics and various subjects. Still he found the battlefields much more appealing than the confines of the throne and the squabbling nobles. Alexis never thought about marriage as he grew up as a warrior of France, fighting with his soldiers and knights in the front lines. Despite some victories, there were always defeats elsewhere and the war became heavily dead locked. Still, he was happy to let his brother rule in their father's stead, given that he is a bit better at politics. Still it was expected that his brother should marry soon and help produce heirs to his family, but with his brother growing more sickly, it soon fell to him to become the father of the next heir to the throne. Thus his brother made a deal. The war would end with the marriage of the royal princess of Prussia and the royal prince of France. His brother was too ill to marry the princess himself and would have to give up the crown to him. Leaving the front lines, he returned to the capital and was given a quick brush up on etiquette and shown the picture of the princess. Granted she looked beautiful and intelligent, he still felt unease about this. Her looks could be deceiving and she is from the enemy side.

His brother had made all the arrangements, wedding and gifts and such. He only needs to greet her now and he wore a more formal attire with a sword at his side, yet he still wasn't completely for this treaty. To be married to the enemy was unthinkable, but he couldn't refuse. Soon Christiane De'Ceon arrived at the palace and she was escorted down to their entrance. The pendant hung around her neck, a gift from his brother for their marriage. "The same with me. I am Prince Alexis Katre," he said to her as he returned a small bow and gestured for her to come in with Alexander. "You must be tired and famished. Shall I have some food and drink brought up to your room?" he said to her. He took a few glances at her and could see that they weren't exaggerating her beauty but given that he wasn't brought up to look at women much, he wasn't entirely impressed with her yet. Still, he showed some courtesy for the sake of their countries. He soon brought her up to a room, a fancy guest room for other royal guests and opened the door for her to walk through.

Christiane smiled gently, her lips a perfect shade of pink, and put her arm through his arm as she let him escort her to her room,"That would be wonderful. The trip was very long, but very worth it." she said happily, her tone was bright and warm. "I can't tell you how happy I was when my father told me of our engagement!" She said,"I was beginning to think I wouldn't be married until I was an old woman!" She made a joke and laughed brightly. They stopped at her room and she opened up her fan, lightly fanning her self and hiding an innocent blush from behind it like most young women did,"I would be so happy if you would honor me with your presence and enjoyed some food and drink with me." She said, seeming to be just another innocent girl, she closed her fan, stepping closer to him and placing a hand on his chest, keeping her body near his own,"I've heard so much about your victories in battle and I'd love to know more about you and all of your daring adventures!" She said, her tone rather seductive.

Christiane walked that fine line of lady and temptress all in one, it was like god had decided to take all the wonderful, alluring qualities of women, like their grace, their mystery, and their beauty and roll them all up in this one hell of a woman. Or that was how she appeared. Christiane was hoping to get on Alexis's good side...it would be stupid of him to just dive into a marriage with the enemy without his wits about him, and being that he was often leading troops, she doubted he was a fool. That being said, if Alexis were to have any control over the country she would soon be ruling, she needed him to believe that she was madly in love with him, which would be easy enough to do for a girl like her....right?

Alexis certainly saw her as an effective woman, a seductive kind. Some of her words were unbelievable but others were also well targeted towards his feelings. She also seemed to want to take an interest in his war stories, though he did wonder how she would feel hearing about how he killed her countrymen. "Of course. WAit here and I'll be back," he said to her and turned to walk away. He can't deny that she does have an effect on him, his heart beating faster than normal. She really has mastered the art of seduction to be able to influence this much on a warrior like him. Her hand, voice, movements, they seem to be well rehearsed or practiced on other men.

Awhile later, Alexis returned with a small cart, with some vegetables and chicken all cut and ready for immediate eating, marinated with some garlic gravy. "I hope you enjoy this. Its one of the royal delicacy's," he siad to her and brought her over to the guest table, setting the food down in front of her as a gentleman and then poured out some red wine. As he served the meal, his eyes didn't leave hers, almost like he is watching out for any hidden moves. "You want to know more about me and how I kill your kinsmen? Are you sure you would like to hear those kinds of stories?" he said to her as he sat down and prepared to eat his own portion. After hearing her response he began to talk a bit of his military campaigns, how he fought and outwitted her generals. He only told a few short versions of them to keep from running his tongue too much. Finally after telling her a third short story, he looked at her, taking note of all her movements. "Tell em. Why are you so eager to want to marry someone like me? Your enemy of all people?" he said, taking a quick drink and eyeing her almost with some suspicion.

Christiane listened to him contently, to be honest she didn't really care about the war. She didn't care about it before because it barely affect her, and she didn't care about it now because in the end, her country had truly won. Once she was queen of France she'd be ruling over the enemy and on good terms with her own people... His stories didn't affect her at all, she just listened to him as she ate, keeping her bites small and mannerly. That was when he asked her his final questions though as she took a sip of her wine.

She placed her glass down, then looked up at him, her blue eyes striking his own as she reached over and touched his hand,"To be honest? I am more than happy to fulfill my duties as a princess, I've been ready for my marriage for years, but I could never have imagined that my marriage would put the end to a devastating war. Not only will countless lives be saved by our union, but there will be less strain on our economies now that we aren't financing wars. I find it fulfilling to think that I am not only gaining an ally, someone whom I can rely on no matter what, but I am also helping two countries grow stronger and better." She blushed and looked down,"I guess its a little silly sounding isn't it? I mean its not like I'm fighting in a war or doing anything heroic, but isn't it nice to think that the simple act of our joining in marriage can solidify a war treaty?" If she slipped up, it was hard to tell where....

she took another sip of her wine,"Thank you for the food, and for the company Your Highness," she addressed him formally,"If you have no where else to go for a while, maybe you could tell me a little about your hobbies and passtimes. What kind of things occupies the time of the young, heroic prince of France?" She asked him, moving on easily.

From what she said, he probably guessed it was all rehearsed. The stories he told seemed to faze little from her and it sounded like she was doing it more for politics than personal feelings. He can't entirely say he is doing it on his own terms, but doing it at the request of his brother for this political treaty. He can't really trust what she says, not entirely. She has her own agenda, but what was it ? He will discover it in time, but he should for now keep her at a distance but still able to keep her close enough.

She then asked him what he likes to do on his free time. He wondered if he should really tell her anything, but a little will not hurt. "I certainly like to read and swim. This young hero pretty much spends a lot of time training and hunting. I do some typical things, but also some other non typical things. I believe it will be much more interesting for you to find out in time. Now its your turn, princess of Prussia," he said to her as he poured a bit more wine for her and some more for himself. She can probably tell that he is holding back a lot of things about himself, but then who would find it interesting if he spilled everything now. He then looked out of the window and got up, opening the balcony door and showing her out to let her see the garden down below. "Shall I take you for a walk?" he said to her.

She listened to him...he was holding back and she didn't like it. It wasn't every man who could resist turning to puddy in her hands.Usually they jumped at a woman who seemed to listen and care about every word they said...but she figured a greater prize meant a greater challenge so it was to be expected. No matter though, a little more time to gain his trust was no large concern of hers at all.

She raised an eyebrow as he asked her what her hobbies were, she got up and walked over to the balcony with him, she walked out and leaned on the bar, glancing at him from over her shoulder,"I'd love a walk." she said, letting the sunlight light up her skin and hair and make her eyes sparkle. She began to walk down stairs with him to the garden, once again taking his arm, however now hugging it closer to her body...she wondered just how much experience with women he had.... "well I'm like you, I love anything outside most of the time. I also like reading, and horseback riding, however you will find that I have a variety of talents I have spent more than a few years developing." She said, keeping some mystery about her. "But back home a lot of nobles lived at court and almost every night we would have small get togethers with cards, and music and dancing. The best nights though I suppose were the ones we would spend out next to the lake and watch the sun come up." she remembered wistfully.

She looked at him as they once again stepped into the sun,"I'm a little concerned I won't fit in very well, Altair," she spoke of her adviser who came with her as a friend and a diplomat to keep her informed on the events back home since she now lived in France,"told me not to expect to have many friendly faces because of the war..." She said with a sigh, she looked at him, hoping he would say something comforting obviously.

It seems Christiane was also playing his game too, keeping information about herself to a minimum at first. As he walked with her, he certainly felt her chest press against himself and it felt quite good. SO she was using these weapons too. He will have to watch out for more moves, but he can't deny he isn't enjoying it. "I'll find out more about you soon enough. But I will admit my dancing is quite lacking. Perhaps you will have the pleasure of teaching me?" he said to her. He can't quite be an effective royal if he can't dance. He spent more time using his sword and horseback riding than dancing on the ballroom floor. He walked with her into the beautiful garden, some butterflies fluttering around and the paths made of brick through the flower beds and hedgerows. It was like a perfect spring had blossomed around them. "Do not hold too much concern about that. Once peace settles in, you will be treated more friendly. I am sure your people will also do the same should I come into your homeland too. But if anyone causes you trouble, come to me and I'll take care of it" he said to her as he looked at her. He risked running his hand around her cheek and brushing some of her hair aside. At least he can show that he would take care of her, even if he doesn't trust her too much. He walked with her and her adviser to a gazebo and sat down on a bench. "Show me some dance moves. I would like to see your skills," he siad to her.

Christiane smiled softly as he brushed her cheek, glad he was warming up to her, or seeming to. She was again very happy at his response to her nervousness, even if it was all an act. Like hell she cared what anyone thought! Christiane was about the be the princess of France and then soon she'd be the queen! It didn't matter what anyone thought of her, only what her husband thought of her.

"Thank you, that means so much to me." She said and rested her head on his shoulder as they continued to walk until they came to the gazebo. "Alright, I guess it won't hurt to show you some of them," She showed him a few of the popular dance moves that were on the latest trend and then insisted he try one or two with her. After their walk through the garden however Altair insisted that she return to her room and get some rest, both because of their long trip, and their very important day tomorrow. Not to mention while the dress had been started, the seamstresses needed to get her exact measurements and finish Christiane's dress.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

The agenda for the next day consisted of a dressing staff waking Alexis and Christiane and letting them eat a spot of breakfast before they were primped, dressed, and presentable, which itself took hours. Lunch for the young couple would be skipped, with the ceremony being at 12 sharp. the ceremony took hours itself, then the two of them would be presented to their people with a brief ceremony starting at the palace -to the nobles- then around the rest of the city. Finally the couple would get back to the palace for a marvelous ball which would consist of a feast, marvelous music, and dancing. Finally they would end the day with being dressed for bed and having the traditional wedding night to consummate the marriage.

The first time Alexis saw her that day was when she was walking down the isle, and for most of the ceremony she was dignified and rather stoic....that is until it came time for them to give their vows and what not. When her eyes hit his own, her blue eyes were soft and her smile was gentle and kind, as if she were really, truly happy to be here with him and she wouldn't have it any other way and she simply hoped he was a fraction as happy as she was. The rest of the day went swimmingly, she was happy and pleasant when waving to her public, and finally they were announced at the ball, where everyone was waiting for them to take their first dance as husband and wife.

"Its been a long day." She said softly to him as she waited for him to offer his hand to her,"How are you holding up?" She asked him softly, the music beginning to play.

Alexis certainly found the wedding ceremony itself to be quite exhilarating, and quite stressful. So many lines, so much ceremony. Everyone was watching and soon he gave her his wedding vows and with the kiss, they were officially wedded as husband and wife and the King and Queen of France. He never thought he would be up here like this, though he did wish it was with the love of his life rather than this political marriage with a woman who probably was told to marry for politics. At least for now he kept up the illusion for the people that they were happy about this, or rather that he was happy about this and joined with the waving to the people. He joined her with the wedding reception, the grand feast and dance and he stood in front of her. "I'm holding up well. I should be more worried about you. You are looking rather tired," he said t o her, which was more of humoring her respectfully and didn't sound like an insult. He graciously held his hand out for her to take and walked with her to the dance floor where he began to do a waltz with her, taking his strides slowly. He really wasn't kidding when he told her he doesn't really dance well but he did his best to keep the movements flowing smoothly. The other guests then began to join the Royal rulers and started dancing with the music. He kept his eyes to hers and as they danced, he did have a hint of a blush on his face as he did find her rather beautiful in her white wedding dress, her pendant and makeup that prettied her up well. Guess even the hardiest of warriors can succumb can show some blushes. Yet his eyes glaring into hers showed his strength as a warrior, one that isn't afraid of much and is always taking charge, his hand too showing a small demonstration of his strength as he held hers as gently as he could but still showed his strength.

She shrugged,"Thank but I'll be fine." she said,"I was expecting this long day, I've attended all the marriages of my sisters and my brothers back home so I was ready for all of this." she said as they danced. He may not have been a spectacular dancer, but she was and she seemed to make it easy to do as she kept eye contact with him. Allowing their bodies to move easily together, gently leading him and carefully placing her feet to ensure they didn't collide with his own.

She had to admit he was quite hansom, she could have ended up with an old, fat duke or something but instead here she was, dancing with this young, hansom, hero of a man who was also a king! She was luckier than all of her sisters. She moved in a little closer to him, still being careful to make sure their dance stayed easy and flowing,"But I hope you don't get too tired from dancing and conversing, we have a very long night ahead of us." She said, it sounded like she was talking about after the party, back in the bed chambers...but maybe she was just talking about the long festivities.

Alexis was impressed by her dancing as she managed to both dance up a small storm yet slow enough make sure that he is keeping up. The amount of energy she has still was also something to note. After some dancing, it came down to the refreshments where he led Christiane to the table of food, sitting her down to eat with the feast with the other nobles. Wine, food, and conversations flowed throughout the night as they celebrated the marriage. To Alexis, it was mostly keeping up appearances, but he did enjoy being the center of attention with Christiane, both commenting on how magnificent they looked and how they expect great things from them. "I can last all night if I want. You need not worry," he said to Christiane as he heard what she said to him, doing something rather fun by crossing his arm with hers while holding their wine and drank from her cup, while letting her drink from his.

It would be a long while into the night till the feast was coming to an end and the after party music began. Alexis held Christiane's hand and thanked the guests for their attendance and gifts and as a finale for the night, he then lifted Christiane up and held her like the prince would carry the princess in stories and carried her out and towards their bed chambers. He gently laid her on their private bed in their room. "I have to admit, I did enjoy myself tonight," he said as he took off his dress shirt slowly but also looking forward to the last part of their night, their wedding night, even if its with a woman who knew little about,

Chrsitiane giggled as he replied to her, seemingly making a joke himself about the night to come. Then he crossed his arm through her own and let her drink out of his cup while he drank out of hers. It was cute, and she was glad he was enjoying himself, however she found herself having a good time too. It seemed as if she didn't have any problem at court at all. She impressed the woman and charmed the men, conversation and wit flowing out of her like clear water from a refreshing and new spring. Christiane and her sparkling conversation were a breath of fresh air for the court.

Finally though when the night was over, she hugged him gently as he carried her to their chambers, it was a rather romantic gesture. She smiled,"I'm glad you had fun," She said as she stroked his cheek, her blue eyes looking up at him filled with adoration. She leaned up and kissed him deeply on the lips, then let hers brush up against his for a moment before she spoke again,"I couldn't have asked for a more perfect husband." She whispered sensually to him. She moved and got off the bed,"Will you excuse me for a moment? I'm going to freshen up just a bit." she said a bit shyly before stepping into her personal room to the right of the bed, it was a small room with a day bed and some chairs and what not, a room for her to call her own, he had one as well. (Sorry im going for realism here) She unlaced her dress and began to slip out of the over dress and the petticoats and corsets and what not then slipped on her nightgown.

Soon it had grown late and Christiane and Alexis had finished consummating their marriage. Christiane pulled the sheets up to her chest, that wasn't exactly what she had expected, but it could have been worse. Alexis was quite a stallion after all and she found that she didn't dislike the experience...either way it was out of the way and now there was no going back on the marriage, no annulling it, no divorce, there was nothing to be done until death parted them.

Christiane sat up and put on her night gown once again before she walked over to her vanity mirror and beginning to comb out her long, silken blonde hair, admiring her self in her mirror a moment until her hair was fully combed out and she walked back over to bed, crawling under the covers and beginning to braid her hair so it wouldn't tangle at night. She was a little more concerned with her nightly rituals for her beauty than she was with how her husband was after their first sexual encounter.

Alexis certainly had a good first time with Christiane, but now they were officially husband and wife. For a first time, he really worked up a sweat with her and almost forgot that she is from Prussia. He sat up and took some water and looked at her as she got up and fixed her hair. She seemed quite happy but then he really isn't sure about all this and how she feels about him.
Sure they had become one on their wedding night, but was it really from passion or just marriage obligation that is expected of them as the new Royal rulers of France. She certainly gave him something to think about and he watched as she climbed back under the covers next to him, continuing to fix her hair. "You need not fix your hair after this. Fix it in the morning when it really matters," he said to her as he slowly slinked his arm around her shoulder, pulling her to him. For tonight he would be willing to let her next to him this closely without his guard up. He ran his hand up on her hair, feeling the silky feeling running through his hand and noticing that she really took great care for her looks. He slowly laid down on the bed, his head turned to her to watch her sleep while he slept. "What would you like to do tomorrow? The people will want to see our presence in the street" he said to her, wondering now what she wants to do with their new status as king and queen. He took hold of her and pulled her closer to him and looked into her eyes. It was like he wanted to see what her eyes would say after all the formalities and passion was over. Was she just putting on a show for him and the others to get to this moment? Her lack of concern of what the war costed her people certainly wasn't leaving him a good impression of her and he was more for his people, hero of his kingdom for fighting the Prussians.
