Read Genesis 6 - 9. It is a very familiar passage in the Bible, the Great Flood. God came to Noah because Noah was justified with the Lord and he was the only righteous man on Earth. God spoke to him about the flood and how the human race will be destroyed. But there is good news about it. Noah and his family will be spared.
I still am amazed on how devoted Noah was in building that ark. What kept him going? Was it the thought that if he didn't do it, he would perish with the wicked? Possibly. But I think the reason was that he had God's promises to him. God says that He would spare their lives if he would build an ark.
My dear brothers and sisters, we have God's promises to us after thousands of years. They are still true and alive today as they were back down. Are you resting in the promises of the Lord or are you doubting that the Lord can move these obstacles from your path? It is impossible for God to lie. He will keep His word.
What kind of promises are in the Bible? The whole book is full of them. Here is an example of a special promise to us, mention in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Do you cling to that promise today? Just remember, if we don't hold onto the promises of God, we are actually calling God a "liar."
