Name: Sanderson ‘Sandman’ Mansnoozie
Immortal, Mortal or Long-living: Immortal (though can be ‘dissolved’)
What are you: A human-like little person from another world.
How did you come to be: Sandy used to be the pilot of a shooting star, travelling from galaxy to galaxy granting dreams to children as they wished on his star- as dreams help one fulfil their wishes. During one of his ventures around Earth, Pitch grounded his star on the planet to keep the children from being happy. Due to a wish of well-being wish made by MiM, Sandy slept safely for many years, turning the debris of his wreck into a little island of sweet dreams. MiM asked Sandy- after he awoke- if he would be willing to help protect the children of earth against Pitch. While afraid, the Sandman agreed and banished nightmares from sleeping children all around the world, turning nightmare-sand into dream-sand with determination. Finally, Sandy was christened by the moon “His Nocturnal Magnificence, Sanderson Mansnoozie, Sandman the First, Lord High Protector of Sleep and Dreams” and has fulfilled the moon’s wishes since.
What is your intent: To keep children dreaming safely.
Description: Sandy is a small and round human-esque guy (where exactly he comes from is unknown, but it is hinted that there are more of his kind). He has blonde hair, golden eyes, fair skin, and wears a somewhat robe-like outfit made of dream-sand. He is normally a very happy- albeit sleepy- fellow, who regards most everyone as a friend. He has a strong dislike for Pitch, although he does not hate him; he just finds the Nightmare King annoying. Sandy is not familiar with major emotions like hate, love, etc., having never needed to deal with them before (only well-meaning wishes would be heard from his star) and only really knows happiness, fear, and irritation at this point. He is mute, but by choice, because talking would wake those who sleep up if he were around them, and being the Sandman that is a requisite of his job. He ‘talks’ by creating dream-sand images, though sometimes the charades can be a hassle for others.
Sandy’s place of residence is the island created from his fallen star’s debris, and its shape is constantly changing. Strangely enough, he is afraid of deep water despite where his base is.
Powers: The Sandman uses a substance called dream-sand in his work. It is a magical gold and yellow grained sand that can cause people to fall asleep and dream of their favorite things, and can dreamify nightmares. He has in his charge a small army of sea creatures, too.
