Ok! I've been absent in the forums for a while, but I come here with good news that should encourage someone, and I hope people will post their good news as well!

So, it's been a long time coming, but my church FINALLY has a concrete plan to upbuild the Youth Church! They've finally mapped out what I've wanted to see for the youth church after 3 years! It seems like we have 2 more volunteers on board as well as more funding! We hope to implement a new system by June, which will have our Youth Church functioning as an actual church! woo hoo!

And as a side note, I had to resign from my second job in March because my performance wasn't up to par no matter how hard I tried (I was a barista. I'm good with people, not so much with my hands). So, I found out Tuesday that all the coffee shops in the division with the exception of 2 will be closing permanently. The company had merged with another and they deemed the region I used to work in as unprofitable, despite the fact that my store was profitable. I look at it like this: perhaps the reason why nothing panned out at the Coffee shop was because God knew it was going to shut down soon, so he moved me out. Praise God with me for his omniscience and timing! People got notified the previous Friday that they'd be out of work this coming Sunday at noon. God got me out early.

What things do you have to rejoice about in your life? Let's rejoice together!

The one huge thing I have to rejoice about in my day is that God has given us another day to live life, another day to enjoy life, and another day to reach out to others. 3nodding

Praise the Lord! I'm so happy that your church is creating an avenue that will reach out to the youth in your area. and I'm glad that God got you out early; it's better to be taken care of than have to scramble for a job at the last minute!

Today, I'm thankful that God got me out of bed and going to church. I haven't missed church in over a month which I'm extremely thankful for. Before, I had a tendency to sleep in. I'm also thankful that one of my guilds is growing, and that hopefully, God will be able to use me to bring other to Him through me being captain and a light to my members. Another thing I'm thankful for is that today, I found my life verse. I've been searching for one since the guild Women Walking with Jesus had a thread asking what ours was smile Mine's Proverbs 13:17: "A wicked messenger falls into trouble,
but a trustworthy envoy brings healing."

Sorry for the belated reply! Thank you so much for the well wishes! I even have 2 volunteers that help me when my hands are full (literally!). I even picked up the Baritone Ukulele so now my class has musical accompaniment! Before, we just had tambourines and we'd sing and play those, but it is SURPRISINGLY difficult to teach 4-6 year olds rhythm so that's why I picked up another instrument.

Why the Baritone Ukulele? Actually, I was going for an acoustic bass, but I came across a "Blessed Be Your Name" ukulele cover that was so cool! What turned me on to the Baritone was coming across someone covering Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight". It was so sweet sounding, I was hooked. Been playing for 2 weeks, and I can play 7 songs (strumming is a wonderful thing)! I asked God to bless my playing, and it has worked out so far. I play a mix of contemporary songs and hymns, so the children get a balance.

And that's a great Bible Verse! I haven't found one that REALLY hits home (there are so many awesome verses!), but one thing I like to shout into the distance is from Psalm 23: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me". Usually when I quote it to my self I just go with "YEA THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH I WILL FEAR NO EVIL!!! HOOAAAH!!!" It's my battlecry of sorts, because there's so much to be afraid of.

I guess since I'm not working as much now, I have a lot more time to devote to youth church lesson planning and playing my ukulele. I annoy my family members, haha, but playing and singing praise to Jesus all day keeps the blues at bay.

And I'm glad that you're taking steps to getting closer to God by attending His services! Remember the verse "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord"! It's truly the best place to be smile
