After seeing a map of the world of One Piece I became confused. The Red Line divides the world and the Grand Line into two halves, Paradise and the New World. My question is, why did Luffy and the others cross the Red Line in the first place (before meeting Laboon). Doesn't that mean they were already on the half of the planet where the New World and One Piece were located? Why travel all across the world when the thing you are searching is in the same hemisphere? I'm so confused: damn geography!

Growlzagra Read Chapter 507, Luffy gives a good reason I didn't read the manga, but I remember Usopp asking if the One Piece even existed. Is it just impossible to go straight from East Blue to the New World? It seems like they're going from England to France so they decide to cross over Asia.

Is it just impossible to go straight from East Blue to the New World? It seems like they're going from England to France so they decide to cross over Asia. Calm belt: Infested with seakings, has no currents beside the one that goes between impeldown, marineford and enis labbi, also no winds. They adress this a couple times.

I thought that was the most likely answer but all they'd really need are one the ships the marines had. Or they could have equipped Merry with a paddle? I dunno. Guess they just didn't have the knowledge or the Franky until too late. BTW, I'm on the Fishman Island arc of the New World Saga.

Furst of all we even don't know what kind of thing is One Piece, and yes it will take long way to it. Juts the style of one piece is like that. The interesting here is not the final target but the adventures.

I Think One Piece is one of the ancient Poneglyphs, one explaining what happened during the null century and confirming a secret the world government doesn't want the public to know. I dont think its a treasure.
Let's think for a minute... Gol Roger wanted to rally a juge mass of people into piracy in search of One Piece... its no secret that its in Raftel island.
Gol Roger could understand what the poneglyphs said and with his sickness, there was little he could do to confront the world government, so he devised a plan where he turned himself in to motivate people into discovering the terrifying secret of the lost century. or something like that... xd pirate
Loofy is one of the few people in the world who can truly discover one piece, no only because he has Robin who can reed the stone, but also because he has the most Terrifying ability of all, He Makes Allies Wherever He Goes.. right now he has allies in almost every part of the world, powerful allies, including a couple of countries. So he has the means of fighting against The World G. !!!
