Personal History

Was born and raised in Kagoshima with his whole family, until the new era began and forced the Kamiya family to leave because they refused to start living a modern life style like the rest of the city. Sato's family ended up settling themselves down in Old Tokyo which, unfortunately, was now a run down slum of a city. They agreed that they would rather be here than in New Tokyo, which was the first Japanese city to be modernized but, instead of rebuilding it, they simply moved it further north and just named it New Tokyo on account of Tokyo being so big. Living in a run down, abandoned city didn't bother them though, it was the only place where they were allowed to keep their ancient traditions alive with out fear of hiding it from the Modern Age. The only person that had a problem with them being forced out of their home was Sato's brother Ichiro. He chose to stay and fight the government that was taking over their homeland and modernizing it, there was nothing they could do to stop him. Sato currently just lives a normal life as a novice teacher of swordplay at his father's dojo, as well as live there too while his parents live in their 1 story traditional, Japanese-style, home 3 blocks away from the dojo. However, due to the very high increase in crime in Old Tokyo, Sato likes to consider himself a kind of "guardian" of the dojo during the night and frequently fends of intruders that try and steal from him.

Flora gathered her things from the cargo hold, this was going to be her first time across the sea alone and this didn't bother her that much at all. She brushed her hair in a small iron mirror that Flora usually kept in her bag but for some reason today she was feeling rather pampering of herself today. She brushed her hair threw a second time taking her time when she felt the ship pull back. her shifting a bit without a problem. Placing away her mirror she hear the whistle and distant shouts of porting. She was glad that they hit land she was getting sick of the sea, Flora was glad that she didn't get sea sick like her sister.

Flora put her bigger bag over her shoulder and placed her suit case at her side with her more important cloths. She thought that her uncle would be pleased that she had brought her own formal attire for the festival later this year. Her mother had made it for her by hand. "FLORA SONG~!" Flora turned to look the door being knocked on to let her know of the docking. "Yes thank you very much." She said in a serious tone hurrying herself by yanking on her boot a bit and walking out the door. "Ready as always Ms Song. There is a carriage that is heading in the direction you are going. I suggest that you keep your pass port handy the New Tokyo guard has place some person checks along the road. To stop well indecent travela'rs...." The man's accent almost made her want to chuckle but she stayed serious looking at his person a simple dirty man with good intentions. The smell of the sea strong with him and his green eyes only mirror it on his middle aged face. Song continued out of the cabin him following her to the end of the ship then departing after making sure that the carriage men was ready.

" Alright this is the one, We hope you have safe travels mame' " The man bowing and leaving her side. Song was just about to get onto the carriage when she felt a tug of her suit case Her eyes slindered her hand tightening around the strap to her bag. A sudden jerk following, Some one obviously was trying to steal it in the large crowed. Her eyes racing over and spotting the young boy. " You what are you doing!?" She said it low enough that the near by guards wouldn't feel cause for alarm. The young boy looking back at her with nervous fear in his eyes. " I am putting her bag in the carriage mame" How could this boy speak english she thought he must do this for almost a living. " Are you hungry boy?" Her eyes followed him she had plenty of money and her uncle was going to supply her with more once she reached him. " Y-yes mame, my name is Lou FinG. I am sorry to cause you alarm." She didn't trust the boy as far as she could throw him. But she knew that her uncle had sent handsome pay to the carriage driver she was sure he would wait. " Tell the driver to wait for us and watch my bag." She placed her suit case behind the driver and turned hearing the boy speaking to him. The Japanese was so fluent she almost missed what he had said.

She could interpret but she couldn't speak it just yet. This was a bit of a down side for herself. But this boy would be of good help to her, maybe enough help to keep him out of trouble for a while." Lead me to the nearest clothing store." The boy walked nervously ahead of her noticing her stare from behind almost seem piercing and was crawling up his spin as they walked. It was but a moment before they reached a side market clothing ben. " Pick out some cloths... And hurry it up." She boy seemed worried grabbing the nearest to her size in fear. " Does this please you mame"? " Flora placed the clothing down what seemed aggressively she didn't have time to dottle and picked up a little bit larger then the boys size of cloths so that he had room to grow. " Here take care of this for me." She said as she paid the merchant who seemed very pleased at how much she gave him. " My name is Song i Need you to be my eyes and ears got it FinG." She looked down at him the boy reaching over and correcting the amount that should be given, The merchant giving him a stern look of unhappiness but new the jig was up. " Your paying to much mame, this is... how much it really is." Song realized her mistake and patted the boy on the shoulder pulling him to a walk with his cloths in hand. " Now food boy You seem hungry and i am a bit famished. Lets go." She hurried him around before the boy found a tavern they both walked into and sat down. " Here go change then we can get some food."

She was glad the boy came back with no sloth in his step. He was smiling now he seemed happy as he put a nervous straight face back on, once he sat down infront of her. " Glad your back the tavern owner was getting antsy." Flora had been watching him for a good time before looking back at FinG. " I am thinking Sushi...SPicy" She said to the boy him nodding. " Order you enough food to get you full." She said shifting her back pack from the outside to the inside. She fiddled threw it pulling out her favorite Chop sticks The design of a serpent rapping down them. She placed them on the table while listening to the boy order. FinG ordered her wasabi sushi rolls and him a ham mixed with wild rice bowl. She smiled, she was glad the boy wasn't dilly dallying any more. The food felt as if it arrived in minutes. " Must be a busy place huh?" She said with a half smile before she took a drink of the complementary wine. and paid for the meal up front. The boy laughed. " Your funny Song all of Japan is like this!" Flora scuffed. " No i've been here once before i know for sure it's not all like this." Flora took a sushi roll off the plate that sat down infront of her at that moment and began to eat. The firey taste of the wasabi in her roll was great it made her mouth water and her senses tingle with joy. She finished just as the boy was scooping the last of his rice out of his bowl with his hands. " Hopefully your full?"

She said softly listening to a trio of strings play off to the side of the tavern. " I couldn't burden you for more mame" He said his hands cupping in front of himself bowing. He came to a stand. " Come your carriage is waiting." He smiled and turned as Flora came to a stand she whipped her bag over her shoulder and began walking with the boy. The grabbed the ride in the carriage her bag still in it's place as they headed in the south easterly direction towards the outer parts of town.

Sato was seated on the floor directly in the middle of the dojo sparring room. He was sat Indian-style with a training dummy about five feet in front of him. He looked at peace, sitting there with his katana at his side and his eyes closed. The whole dojo was deathly quiet and all that could be heard was the faint ticking of the clock that was in the other room, counting down the seconds before Sato's attack. He opened his eyes slowly, gazing down the target with fierce intensity, a small grin beginning to form on his face. Then suddenly, a flashing light blinked inside the room for a fraction of a second. Sato was on the other side of the dummy with his sword unsheathed and him in a slashing pose, his sword arm in the air. Sato sheathed his blade all in one motion without hesitation as half of the dummy slowly began sliding down in a perfect diagonal cut and slowly stood up straight. He tilted his head back and laughed a bit "Hahaha! Another dummy for the trash then! Poor b*****d." He walked to his room to put away his sword and then began walking to the front porch so he could get some cool, night air on his face.

Sato sat on the porch just outside the front door, him sitting Indian-style and up straight again, and took in a deep breath. "*Exhale* There's nothing better than a mild, calm night breeze to ease ones mind" Sato looked like he was in heaven, despite him living in this run down, horrible excuse of a city. He was never one to let his surroundings affect his mood or actions. He was just about to go inside and pour himself some Saki when he noticed a carriage slowly make its way along the road that was within eye sight of the dojo. "Hmm.. Stange.. Nobody usually takes this road anymore.. Tourists maybe?" He then noticed the back of the carriage had lettering on it saying "Old Tokyo Dock Transportation" "Ahh so it is tourists then! Still.. strange for them to be going around town at this hour in the night." He watched as the carriage slowly drove out of sight then got up and went inside to get himself a drink when, almost instantly, a man with a gun jumped out from behind a car down the road and began opening fire at the house and towards Sato. Sato tilted his head quickly and unsheathed his hidden blade that was in his cross necklace and deflected any bullets that would have hit him. He held the tiny blade up to his face and gave it a kiss "Much appreciated Miss.." Just as he thought the thug was going to give up, Sato noticed a smoke grenade begin hurling towards the dojo *"Sigh" I grow tired of this b*****d.." Sato leaped into the air and kicked the grenade directly back at the thug on the street, causing it to smack him in the face and knock him out. Sato turned towards the dojo and stretched a bit before finally going back inside, the whole street filling up with smoke from the grenade, and grabbing a drink. Sato sat down on a chair in the kitchen with a full bottle of Saki in his hand, completely calm despite all of the events that just happened, and took a swig "I'd be lying if I said this damn city wasn't exciting.. but that can be pretty inconvenient when you're trying to relax.." Sato leaned back in his seat, drinking, and whistling a happy tune...

Flora rest tiredly in her seat off to the side The Lou had fallen asleep just before they had arrived to where she needed to get out. She hopped out a little ways outside of town. She had been stretching her legs behind the cart with her suit case in hand, there wasn't any worry for her the carriage had already been paid before she even had gotten on. Flora had threw the suit case over her back on top of her back pack her had at her side. She thought they where going to take her sword back at the military check but she explained it was a family heirloom and they let her keep it.

Song walked for a good ways into town she had just spotted a man come out from behind a car and shooting at what looked like a dojo. She wouldn't have this at all It was a crime and she wasn't going to see it for filled. She came up behind the man after the shots where fired and rapped her sheath firm against his throat and began choking him. Only for a minute to get him to drop his gun when a grenade hits the man in the face knocking him out. Flora held him a moment before dropping him where he stood, She figured the law would have him soon seeing some officers heading this way. She smiled and put her sword back on her side and walked back behind the carriage disappearing in the gassy fog . They stopped at the run down tavern Her picking up the kid and putting him with one arm. She thought he felt a little light come paired to her little sister. She sighed a bit annoyed and bought him a place to stay for a few weeks in the inn walking him up and putting him to bed. She came back down stairs before getting stopped by then inn keeper.

" So what brings you here, this town doesn't to well for tourists. not much to do here. " Well i can see why your scaring them all away." She scuffed a laugh before going and sitting down. " All have you know it's not me it's the blasted military. There corrupt and it's causing us all grief. The taverns had to rebuild More then once this year because they got taxed so bad..." Flora sighed. " Could you just give me a drink and some information. I need to find my uncle....He lives here in town..I am his Niece. Bofi Matsemoto is is name...." The inn keepers irritation faded a bit with her and stepped over and got her a wood cup with some saki in it. Song drank it with easy but she didn't really care for it. " Water next please..." He nodded and then spoke. " Old Matse has been out of town for some time now. Told me that his house on the hill side towards the north side of town by the river is locked up tight. Might have to wait until he gets back. I can let you stay for cheep since your related to him. But don't go thinking you owe me or anything lady." He laughed pouring her some water. Song sighed now she was going to have to wait she doesn't have time for this. How am i going to help mom now...? Her thoughts swirled before she decided to speak again after some time of silents the inn keeper had went to bed. She hadn't realized that she was that deep in thought. She got up. "Lets go get some exercises Song." She bounced her hands off the counter and went up stairs to leave her bag under the bed pushing her suit case up under neither there as well. Flora walked back down stairs and walked back towards the dojo.Hopefully they allow people to train in the back at night... it was her favorite time to train.

Sato was still sitting at the kitchen table, drinking and singing a song that was on the radio next to him, when he looked out the window and seen a girl begin jogging up the hill towards the dojo. He instinctively jolted out of his seat, expecting it to just be another person trying to rob him, and walked out the front door and out onto the porch again. He spoke to her right when she was about half way up the hill.
"That'll be close enough there ma'am. Is there anything I can help you with?"
Sato's voice was friendly as usual but he tried his best to add a bit of enforcement to his words. He didn't want to come across as mean but he also didn't want to let his guard down just because she was a girl.
"Gotta be prepared for anything in this city right? Even ladies coming up to your door late at night shortly after fending off yet another robber."
He had his blade with him but he wasn't holding it in an imposing way. The girl looked like she wasn't from around here but that was mainly because almost everyone that still lived in this city probably haven't seen a shower in months.. So basically, she looked presentable but that drove Sato to ask his next question.
Wait a second.. You're a tourist right? Jeez.. Hope you didn't pay for a carriage anytime soon. Just seen the last one drive past my dojo on the way to New Tokyo."
Sato stood and focused on her, waiting for her response.

She didn't turn back to quickly, she supposed that the Dojo of all things wouldn't stab her in the back like the rest of the world has tried but then she couldn't be to careful herself her hand on her sword that was still in it's sheath.

" Oh really? What's so bad about a tourist heading to new tokyo? You one of those girl chasing types. I'd hope not, don't want much to do with those types of men. I came to train, if that's alright." She turned looking back at him revealing her face by the moon shining above.

The wind catching her long black Ebony hair it shifting in the soft breeze and her brown eyes gave a glint of justice about them in the risen moon light...
" I am no burglar.. Of course i am sure everyone could say that. Care to join me for a light work out?" She looked over at him to see if she had convinced him.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:28 am

Sato raised an eyebrow and grinned a bit.
"Well I'll but it simply for ya there ma'am.. New Tokyo is a modernized, new age utopia of greed and corruption. The place has no honor anymore, That is to say neither does this place but at least Old Tokyo is place where you can keep your own rich heritage alive.. without being forced to change."
Sato checked his watch when she asked if he wanted to train with her and scratched the back of his head.
"Jeez.. You want to spar at this hour? Well.. technically the dojo is closed for the night but.. ehh what the hell. Ya sure come on in. I'm interested if foreigners can carry a blade as honorable as we do anyway.."
He slide open his front door and allowed her top enter first, trying to be a gentleman of sorts.

Flora kept her hand on her sword while listening to his statement, about how the worlds gone upside down here to. " Well i guess my hopes for escaping my debts here aren't going to cut it i am sure they have something bugging me here to..." She said bluntly coming into the house.

"Thank you."
Her hair seemed to whip from the wind into sato's face as she passed a brief scent of Lavender and berries filling his nasals momentarily before she hand stopped and turned to look back at him. She bowed for a moment. "Thank you for accepting me this late in the night. I hope that i am worth your time." She turned and looked a the room nearest to herself spotting what seemed to be a small altar and a clear matted floor for prayers.

She looked the other direction and spotted the familiar mat used for wrestling training, then a few dummies outside the rice paper window among other things a Dojo needs. " Who is the Dojo's master?" She said her back turned to him but her hand still on her sword if she felt something was to go a miss.

He blushed a bit when he got a whiff of her hair but quickly shook it off. None the less, he responded to her show of gratitude.
"Not a problem! Anyone who is in pursuit of knowledge of self defense is welcome here"
He walked into the kitchen and took two full bottles of Saki out to the sparring room as she was observing everything. He sat on one of the two sides of the verses mat in perfect Indian-style and slammed the other bottle on the other side of the verses mat, basically inviting her to sit there. He took a swig of his bottle of Saki and spoke.
My father owns this dojo, I'm merely one of the teachers that work here. Well.. actually the only one.. However this place is also acts as my home. I like to consider myself a sort of.. guardian of this place. Since crime is at an all time high and all."
He grinned a bit when he noticed her gripping her sword so tightly like she was about to get jumped.
"Haha.. You can relax you know. I mean, why would I bring harm to someone that I have no quarrel with? Let alone someone I don't even know the name of yet.
He laughed and took another sip of his booze.

Flora took a steps over to him,her kneeling at his offer to sit with him her hand remaining on her sword even at his words to relax."I find it more comfortable for my arm to stay complete, but thank you.

"
Flora looked at the bottle of sake and decided against it considering it would dehydrate her. Flora sat down all the way looking ahead. "Guardian huh? you look more like i wonder to me, but then again so much has changed in the passed couple of years It doesn't not surprise me that my Ideas would sometimes be wrong.

"
Flora came to a stand an removed her trench coat showing her more famine form. Her body shaped like an hour glass in her black tank top and her what looked to be Black jean slacks. She folded her coat neatly where she had been kneeling before stepping a good distance away and placing down her sheathed sword at her feet.

She took a long deep breath while standing up facing you, she then began to do a form of yoga to stretch her muscles. " Do you know who is controlling the crime mostly in the lower part of town.

"
She said bluntly but in a form to sound relaxed almost instantaneously . If you hadn't seen her holding her sword before you would have thought she had taken hours to reach such a peaceful level.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:40 pm

Sato scratched the back of his head.
"Heh.. What ever you say."
He picked up her bottle and walked back out to the kitchen to put it away. He left his sword in the training room where he sat, showing his expression of trust.
"Ya.. not sure why I drink the stuff before a workout, guess I just enjoy the sense of relaxation it gives."
When he was making his way back to the training room, he noticed her doing her stretches and how slim and healthy she looked.
"Well then. I can see you're a lady who likes to keep on top of her fitness."
He said in a joking manner. Sato walked back over to his spot and picked up his drink, then began leaning against the wall and took a sip.
So then. You want me to set you up some practice dummies or something? Or are you gonna just stick to your yoga tonight?"
He chuckled and drank again. He was close to getting a bit intoxicated but he didn't show it at all. He then answered her question about the crime in the city.
"Haven't got a clue. All I do is prevent them from robbing this dojo by.. well by kicking grenades at them I guess."
He laughed as he put his drink down on the floor.
"So how good are you foreigners in the art of the blade anyway? I'm curious to find out."
He grinned and rubbed his chin stubble a bit. Then went over and sat next to his blade, again in his perfect Indian-style formation.

Suddenly while he was away she had realized that she had disrespected his dojo in such a manner to as to forgotten to remove her shoes. She placed her hand to her forehead and removed her tall satin boots. They where stronger then they looked she had them custom made with metal plates in both side and the toe. She sat them by her trench coat and began again. Her eyes watched him linger into the room again and she cracked a smile while looking away for a moment to do a relaxed kick in the air for stretching. Then repeating while listening to what he had said at first about dummies. " You can if you'd like I'd like to speak with your Father about coming to take care this place, i have a small boy that needs to learn honor and discipline from a true family. I found him in the port stealing to thrive and i think he could be of good use to be put to work it would make him strong, and learning the sword may make him bright." She shifted sliding her foot under her sword lifting it a little before throwing it up to catch it. It didn't take but a split second to do it as she left the sheath on and scooted back to begin practicing her form. "So your the one that helped me by making that man unconscious. ha ha~ Suppose you wouldn't want to spare lightly? I don't do full on unless it's during the day. Sparing at night makes me feel overly rested in the morning. I suppose my fighting style is a bit different then yours. some of my own moves i had to learn on my own. So i wouldn't know, I only decided to learn when i was young and when my mother decided to marry my American father well. We ended up there only after a few months to be left for another family. My uncle always told me that my sword is truth in the world, After my recent father figure i could agree..." Flora slashed up then down before doing a few soft stabs forward then drawing back before spinning into a kneeling slice. " Suppose your father's the one that taught you, your lessons of chivalry?" She looked over to him her feet walking to him as she knelled in front of him before placing her sword down next to her. Looking you in the face, her eyes strong and some what distant for but a moment. Her looking you over for a moment taking in your appearance. " I'd like to stay and clean the dojo after we've finished as well..." She said softly before seeing the small cross on his neck. " I didn't know that Japan accepted the Christan faith here?" She continued to stare at it remembering her step father for but a moment and felt discussed for even thinking of him. She looked back up at Sato's eyes seeing that he was becoming glassed over, ~He was drunk?~ She thought briefly.. ~interesting~

Sato tilted his head a bit, still rubbing his chin in thought of her offer of a helping hand around the dojo.
"Well you don't need to consult my father about hire and all that.. I'm currently in charge of the place actually.. The old b*****d is sick and is in no shape to train people. He has left the training to me."
Sato appeared serious but only for a few seconds, him in thought about his father. He quickly returned to his usual, fun self the moment she offered him to spar and quickly rose to his feet, sword at his side.
"Well it's about time you offered! I was itching to discover your capabilities the moment I found out you owned a blade!"
Sato walked over just opposite to her on the sparring floor and listened as she explained about her having to learn and make her own moves.
"Good! Then you're on the right path to being able to over-power anyone that stands in your way! My father always told me that even the most talented, experienced swordsman will fall to a move that has no history or reference. Moves that you create, that come from your own unique, individual mind and abilities wont only surprise the enemy.. they'll surprise you!"
Sato's facial expression seemed pleased that she was on a wise path with her sword. He threw his head back and laughed at her next question.
"Oh please! The only thing that old man has taught me is the way of the blade. He could use lessons from ME in being a gentleman."
He raised an eyebrow at her next question and looked down at his cross.
"They don't actually.. I'm not of christian faith, this is just something a.. good friend of mine.. left to me a very long time ago. It just gives me good memories is all."
He held it a bit as he looked at it then quickly snapped out of it.
"Well then! I'd say we've waited long enough! Lets train then shall we?"
Sato went into a quick-draw stance and didn't break his eye contact with her. He didn't draw his sword though, he was waiting for the precise moment.

"You speak so rudely of your father, why do you dis....never mind. Let us spare.." She cleared her mind of the thoughts he had told her. She looked over at you taking a simple position. She took a slow steady breath it long as she inhaled she knelt down slightly her swords sharp in facing towards you and her hand resting on the back side of her Daito. Her eyes open looking at you taking in the silents for a moment her eyes watching your body and your movements. Ready to attack at any moment, even thought she was also in a defensive position.Flora felt her heart slow to a steady beat looking back at his eyes made her want to ask him another question but she decided to save it for after there spare. Besides these kind of spares don't usually last to long. Her hair lingering down into her face. but her vision stayed locked on you the sound of the spring crickets lingering in the night outside.
