Here in the world of Percy Jackson there are an assortment of magical metals and weapons that make fighting monsters so much easier. Below is a brief description of these items, where to find them and their properties. Look carefully when deciding and please remember that not everyone will be allowed to have some of them.

Imperial Gold
A blessed metal used by Roman demigods and legacies at Camp Jupiter. It is forged at Camp Jupiter in their sacred temple. Imperial Gold is very rare, as it was consecrated in Ancient Rome. The ore is specifically deadly to monsters, immortals, and their descendants. In addition, it is extremely volatile, causing devastating destruction if broken.

Celestial Bronze
Celestial Bronze is a powerful metal wielded by the gods and their demigod children. Mined by the Cyclopes from Mount Olympus. They shape the ore by tempering the metal in Mount Etna and cooling it in the River Lethe. The metal is deadly to creatures of the magical world. Unlike lesser mortals, demigods are also affected by it because of their blood. Artifacts of celestial bronze are known to emit a faint bronze glow. It disperses monsters into dust once a sword or weapon made up of Celestial bronze passes through them. Unlike Imperial Gold, Celestial Bronze seems almost as abundant as iron to Greek Demigods, as not only their weapons made out of it, but it seems like almost everything the Greek Demigods make is made out of it, using it as a magical alternative to what other metals would normally be used for weapons.

Stygian Iron
Stygian Iron, like Celestial Bronze and Imperial Gold, is a magical metal capable of absorbing or sucking the very essence of monsters and injuring gods, Titans and Giants. However, unlike Imperial Gold and Celestial Bronze, it can harm both mortals and monsters. When seen, it is shown to scare monsters even more than the other two metals. It also appears to have significant effect on ghosts, monsters, and creatures from the Underworld. Stygian Iron is mined and forged in the Underworld and cooled in the River Styx, producing a clean indestructible blade. Because it is cooled in the River Styx, it is believed that only deities from the Underworld and their demigod children can use it, but other powerful beings have been known to use Stygian Iron. One large difference between Celestial Bronze and Stygian Iron is the way they kill monsters. Celestial Bronze dispels a monsters' essence and returns it to Tartarus, but Stygian Iron is stated to actually absorb the monsters essence, which most likely means a Stygian Iron weapon can keep monsters in Tartarus for a longer time period. The forging process for Stygian Iron is similar to that of Stygian Ice, in that both are dipped into the River Styx.
