Guide

Setting Up Your Tank

What fish should I get to start?

►First I would like to recommend that no matter which fish you choose that you get a full or do an 8/9 split tank of the same types. From experience as a grabber I tend to do better in a one type tank vs a mix. It also will give you a higher chance of a good glow group. Some fish have a much larger range of glow rating, or just more often glow at a medium number. If you aren't sure on glow rating, which even my stats guide does not seem to be accurate on as I took most of those numbers from past guides, just go 8/9 split on your tank. It can't really hurt.
►Another thing to consider is floating vs ground fish. Floating fish have better visibility on how the gold will fall but ground fish give two opportunities(tossed up and falls down) to grab their gold.
►And Finally I recommend collecting all 17 fish(maximum allowed per tank) before putting them in.

Mini Monsters are all obtainable through Phin Phang Fourth Strike Pack.

►To start these are the best fish for their cost:

The following drop 30 gold a minute without buffs or debuffs
Aquarium Mini Monsters Alpha Grams
Aquarium Mini Monsters Kokeshi Collectible
Aquarium Mini Monsters Laceback Galoshes
Aquarium Mini Monsters Lightning Bug
Aquarium Mini Monsters Walkers

The following drop 45 gold a minute without duffs or debuffs
Aquarium Mini Monsters Bladed Vase
Aquarium Mini Monsters Feathered Coatl
Aquarium Mini Monsters Katsumi's Kokeshi Doll
*A note on Bladed Vase. You may see them at 45 gold and oo they drop all blue coins, must be the best. I thought they could be so I've been running 17 of them on my mule. They glow 4~15, but they most often glow in groups of 8 or 9. So I would 100% recommend if you're going bladed vase to do a 8/9 split with them.
The next two are a bit more expensive. The Grunny drops items. The Lawnshark is probably higher priced for the reason it's life span is more like double than it's gaia estimate. Instead of 4 weeks it lives 7 - 8.
Aquarium Mini Monsters Lawnshark
Aquarium Mini Monsters Grunny Sub
The following drops 60 Gold without buffs or debuffs
Aquarium Mini Monsters Outlaw Wolf

The following are more expensive to start with but popular. I recommend reading my commentary below about expensive tank starts. Expensive fish are often not recommended for starters.

Below are fish that drop 90~96 gold a minute without buffs or debuffs
Aquarium Mini Monsters Airshark
Aquarium Mini Monsters Giant Stone Coatl

The Aquarium Irrawaddy Dolphin is sort of in it's own category. It is on the expensive side for only dropping 55 gold a game, but they are all guaranteed to glow every glow. This makes them very reliable as long as you get your tank bumped and played on glows. The Aquarium Dolphin is the same exact thing except for life span.

[x] Stats on fish! Life span is important to consider when picking fish.

►Picking the fish is probably the easiest part to owning a booty grab tank for most people. It's often recommended not to go big to start and I would agree. Booty Grab gives 100% of gold grabbed by the players to the owner of the tank per play. This means your goal it to maximize the number of times your tank is played. One aspect of getting plays is to bump your thread to the top of the forum while you are glowing. Users will then click into it and therefore play your game. When you are first starting you will have your thread set up and likely few people willing to bump your thread.

Which brings me back around to why expensive fish are not recommended. Your goal is to maximize the plays, but when you're offline your tank will sit there in the depths of the many pages of the forum, unbumped, unplayed, no profit.

So, I agree with not picking expensive fish; however, if you have the ability to get your thread up just about every time it glows per day then go for the big ones ~ if you want. People will play a good tank if it's up at the top of the list.
Fish purchased! What now?

Put them in your tank!

►There are a few extra things you may want to know down in Q&A. Other than that move to the next section.

PRO TIP: Do the Gaia Cash Tree offers, specifically watching the videos, daily! I wish someone had told me how much you can get from them. It does not take long to make 250 GC to spend on the strike packs which is free fish!

Setting Up Your Bump Thread

How do I make one of those fancy threads with only one post on the first page?

Step 1: Go to the Gaia Aquarium forum.

Step 2: Create a New Topic with the title of something like "Under Construction" or "No Posts Please"

Step 3: Reply to your thread until you reach the second page.

Step 4: Delete all the posts you have made on the first page except for one. This one post will be your post for whatever message you want to say to your bumpers and have your signature nicely at the top. Edit the post to your liking and remember to change the title.

What content should I put in my post other than a message?

Awesome's Glow Timer is the timer you see in most people's bump threads. Place your tank ID into the ??????.

Not Glowing
[img]http://awesomolocity.info/?id=??????[/img]

Awesome's Analyzer is another popular thing. Clicking it will gives information about the tank and it's fish. Again, put your tank ID in the ??????.

Awesomo Analyzer

King Awesomolocity
You should note that leaving my analyzer open will result in a popup when the tank is glowing, as it does an auto-refresh every 5 minutes. :3
(This helps to catch glows, when you're distracted)

How do I get my bump thread to be linked from my aquarium?

Step 1: Account Preferences

Step 2: Copy your thread's ID and paste it into the box located in the right column

Aquarium Status....Send me daily PM's about my tank status

Aquarium Bump thread

►You should put a Direct Link in your post as some people can only grab using them.

Which would be a link from clicking "Visit my Aquarium" in your sig. Then copy & paste the URL into the standard URL tag.

[url=http://AQUARIUM LINK would be here]Direct Link[/url]

► Reply Box Links are also helpful

Tank Exposure

I have my bump thread and my signature all set up! How do I get users to play my glow and profit?

►As I had mentioned earlier this is the most difficult part of your booty grab tank's life.

►The first way to hook people is have an attractive thread title. You want wording that will make people want to click your thread over someone else but do not lie about what is in your tank. I would suggest leaving out GLOWING and stick to the content of your tank for the reason that a bump thread is only supposed to be at the top of the list because it is glowing. I don't know what others have done but I have found myself changing my titles multiple times the first few days I set up my permanent bump thread to see if it helps.

►The second thing to do it get your signature/name/face out there in the gaia aquarium forum. The more places your signature is the higher chance someone will see it while it is glowing and nicely play & bump for you. To do this I recommend making friends in a guild or talking to people in the chat threads located within the gaia aquarium forum. There are a few links below that will get you to some nice helpful people.

People love when you bump their thread multiple times while they are glowing. You will understand once you have a tank, especially when you are starting out. Sometimes spending those extra few minutes helping out another person's thread will get you good reputation vs just bumping once and moving on or not bumping at all. From my experience some people will return glow bumping favors if you do it for them.

Having people that are willing to bump your glowing tank while you are offline is one of the factors in having a successful tank vs a money nom noming tank.

SS2-SITH LORD
The last thing I want to talk about is proper bumping etiquette. You should only post in a glow thread if it is glowing. When you are glowing and people bump you, try to bump them when they are glowing. You should also play Booty Grab often. You want to expose your tank to other owners. Let them know that you are here and you are taking your tank seriously.

RECOMMENDATIONS

User ImageI suggest starting off with Laceback Galoshes, and Alpha Grams. Make sure you have a "BUMP MY GLOW!" link in your signature. A timer in your signature will help too. If you have a problem getting these things to be small enough for your signature, I'll help you with the codes.

Stalker Thread Grab and Bump

Stalker Thread Grab Only

Open your stalker thread and check for glowing tanks. Bump them, and grab the gold. When you get a captcha, every third tank, play the tank you got the captcha on, and refresh your stalker page to check to see if those tanks are glowing. Keep this pattern up. After about a week, you'll go through your own bump thread and recognize certain people are bumping and grabbing you frequently. You can adjust your stalker thread any time, adding, subtracting, moving them about, to accommodate the new friends you are creating. Definitely get a membership in the Booty Prowling Panthers because their guild is extremely popular. If you need help with any of the codes they ask for, just ask me because I have all of their codes on my computer. Basically, it's all about building up a network of friends. Once you have that, you can start building your tank up all the way up to Dolphins and Airsharks in no time.

All you have to do is go to Gaia Aquariums in the Gaia Forums, start a thread titled' "SETTING UP, PLEASE WAIT!" Post a total of 15 times, including the first post, and delete any of the posts after the first post you don't want. Some people keep the second post for ramblings or promotions of other guilds or sites, but it's up to you. After you're done doing this, let the thread sit for 30 minutes to die down. After it's done, go back to the thread and edit the first post. This will give you the opportunity to change the title to something like, "I'M GLOWING!" so that people will come visit it when it gets bumped to the top of the topics. HERE is my bump thread so you can see an example of what it might look like. I added all these other tanks because they are either my other accounts, or the accounts of my family members. I labeled mine with my name because I've reached the point in bumping and grabbing that people recognize me by now. They don't really grab and bump me because I have the greatest fish, they do so because they are what I call, "Grateful Stalkers". Grateful Stalkers will notice if you stalk their glows because they check their bump threads daily and recognize users who consistently bump and grab their tanks. This is the reason I suggest setting up a STALKER THREAD. Once you set one up, you will begin checking your own bump thread and you will notice certain users bump your thread more often than not. You can let my other account know which changes to make to accommodate your gaining friends within the Booty Grab community.

Anyway, all I need from anybody is for them to fill their tank with glowing fish, start an aquarium bump thread, and keep their tank in their signature until I let them know I don't need it anymore. You don't have to keep it in there. I only need to see it once to code it. Once it's coded, I'll always have any of the codes you'll ever need to add your tank to any other guilds or editing of your own, personal bump thread. Don't bother trying to pay me. I'll get the gold from your tank when it glows. However, I will not turn down any donations made to the guild mule,
Darth Scoobadoobacus
