So, has anyone had the pleasure of playing the Walking Dead arcade game?

As far as being 'exclusive', I can't say for sure. I found the game through a friend who found it in the XBOX Live game marketplace. He found it among the downloadable arcade games. The game is split into 5 parts, each part being 400 Microsoft Points. (Total: 2000 MS / $25)

The game takes place in the same time and universe as the TV/book series, but instead focuses on an entirely different group and their decisions. The game is a mix of development through your decisions in each situation and an interaction. You get short 3-5 second windows to give one of 3 answers to the situation at hand and will often find yourself slowly investigating and interacting with things in each area. It's kind of like a constant investigation to learn what's necessary and advance forward in the game.

So far the game's appeal is roughly worth 2 run-throughs after getting it, though it may differ from person to person.

It makes for good gaming discussion as well for anyone who really likes the game.

(This is available on other consoles, so I have moved it from the exclusive and into the general games forum)

A few of my friends have recommended this to me, but I can't be bothered with it. It doesn't appeal to me for some reason blaugh

Purrfectly understandable on topic movement.

"Can't be bothered with it."? What is this hell I've stumbled into and who are these demons that roam here? xD

Nah. It's an amazing game. It's got a moderately okay start and helps you get into the interactive/clue finding side of the game in the first chapter and then the story keeps building from there. The very last Chapter (5) blew me away. My feels were in turmoil, but the ending chapter was masterful and you realize a few important things if you pay attention to the details in prior chapters.

The feels. They feel feely.

Hmm, another person who thinks I am insane for not bothering with it....it must be me. I shall look into this game, and when I get money I shall purchase it.

Honestly, as far as games go, it's less than half the cost of most 'good' 360 games and I've enjoyed this more than almost every game I've played since getting a 360. Game deserves serious props. It has it's odd/off moments, but it really prioritized story quality and some really interesting interaction moments.

A friend let me play this on his steam account and although I like the show, I didn't care for the game. Slow frame rates and floaty controls (which he said is how it normally is) made me more irritated than scared. Then I couldn't get past the first zombie fight. Wouldn't even let me pick up the gun and/or bullet on the ground to defend myself, which I would think is what you're supposed to do.

Well, it's suppose to be scary to a degree, but it's not the entirety of it's focus. It's trying to display a good story guided by your decisions. It's suppose to be a little slow-paced and point & clicky because it's about the story. I suppose it takes a little bit of patience to get into the game, but most people should have just that if they really enjoy solid story games. It's got plenty of action, but only by it's own standard. You have to keep calm and think quick. Being slow doesn't mean anything. You'll never be in a spot where you can't react fast enough.

As far as your issue with the starting area goes...
It sounds to me like you did it wrong. I could be wrong, but you're suppose to grab the bullet first otherwise it's harder to handle the fight scene. Once you have the bullet, you head over to investigate the cop's dead body and get a hold of his keys. Once you find yourself backed up against the cop car, immediately look for the shotgun and interact with it. You'll pick it up and then fumble about trying to load the bullet. If and when he happens to drop the bullet, quickly target it and interact, then load the gun and aim. Once your target is over the zombie, you simply press the right trigger on the back of the controller or the corresponding button (Y, X, A, B). You'll have to pay attention when you see the interaction button come up because you can't just press 'A' for everything. At times you'll have multiple options or ones to the left/right/top. You'll need to hit the right button. Failure simply means starting from the beginning of the action scene.

If you're too impatient to learn from your mistakes, then this game is simply not for you.
