Does anyone here use Gamefly? Do you like it? How long have you been with them?


I joined back in December and at first was really upset, I live near St Louis, Missouri and the closest shipping facility was in Texas, now they have one in Kansas City, so I get my games in about 2 days. The prices are good if you don't want to pay $30-$60 to buy one. $30 a month gets you 3 games at a time, which is good for me since my husband and I both play games.
My only gripe is the Very Low - Available status. It isn't always up to date so that's irritating. So you will get shipped games that are not in your Top 5 sometimes.

I was considering getting into GameFly.

I live in Illinois, when I did play console I considered joining.

I usually spend a lot of time on a game, so the cost per month + waiting period just didn't seem like any benefit (as I research a game before I purchase).

Yeah researching before you buy is always your best bet as well as used price vs new price. But sometimes I feel reviews are biased or something. My biggest disappointment in recent years was FF Crystal Chronicles (Wii) and FFXIII. They had really good reviews and scores, but I bought it new and hated it. It plays itself so it takes out so much of the fun. Traditional RPG battles and FFXII I like a lot. Plus 6 months later the price dropped in half.

I had Gamefly for about 3 months until i decided to quit the program. I ran out of games that looked interesting and i didn't want to pay that amount anymore. It was good for a while though. I just go to Family Video now. sweatdrop
