I was just talking about the lands in the Elder Scrolls games and who they represent e.g Cyrodiil is based on United Kingdom. I just want to know your opinions on the lands and who you think they represent.

Reaver10 Hmmm because of its mountains and crazy nature i guess. XD I have never been to America so I have no idea what it looks like XD I think Skyrim is based on Norway, Sweden, etc. Cyrodiil is based on United Kingdom. Hammerfell is based on Egypt. ...where are Bretons from?

Skyrim - Sweden, Finland, Norway
Cyrodiil - Roman Empire (Italy, Greece)
Elsweyr, Morrowind, Summerset Isle, Valenwood, Black Marsh - Various topographies of South America.
Hammerfell - Arabian Regions, Egypt
High Rock - England
Also:
Akavir Continent - Asia.

BlitzkriegMagikarp Cyrodiil - Roman Empire (Italy, Greece) I know it was based on the Roman Empire, but I think it's based on Britannia 3nodding Bretons come from High Rock, right? Those are to do with magic...maybe Welsh or French. Not sure on that one blaugh

As for Valenwood, I think that's Welsh. Wood elves are renowned for archery skills, and when it comes to fantasy that is loosely based on the Welsh and their language.
Edit: Another reason I believe that the land Cyrodiil is based on Britannia is because Skyrim sits directly above, as Scandinavia similarly does for Britain. As evident in Elder Scrolls IV, the Imperials are trying to be the peacekeepers, which is a title Britain held for its involvement in trying to prevent wars.
