Reiatsu (霊圧, Spiritual Pressure) is the physical force/pressure that a person’s Reiryoku creates when released. Most Shinigami and Arrancar, even Quincy and Bounts can manipulate the release of their reiatsu.

Defensive Use
When two spiritual beings collide, the side with weaker spiritual pressure will get hurt. (Ex: When Ichigo Kurosaki fights Captain Kenpachi Zaraki, the captain opened up the chest area of his Shihakushō, and ordered Ichigo to cut him. When attacking with all his strength, Ichigo found Kenpachi uninjured, while his own hands were bleeding. As his sword that is highly concentrated for the purpose of killing, the spiritual pressure that Kenpachi subconsciously releases is much, much stronger). In this way a Shinigami with a greater amount of Reiatsu can use their own reiatsu to harden their skin, and effectively protect themselves from attacks. Shinigami battles are battles of reiatsu, if one possess a greater level reiatsu then the other can be overcome completely.
In this guild one must posses 25 or more points in their Reiatsu than their opponent for this to be effective in this instance.

Psychological Use
Fear
Reiatsu at its most basic level can instill fear in others when it is very high (in comparison to the one feeling it). Willpower is the simplest way to fight this effect.
One must posses 25 or more points in their Rieatsu than their opponent for this to become an issue. Anything more than 50 will power will not help very much against this.

Stunning
High level of spiritual power can cause those of lower power to be stunned, and possibly causing anyone within 20 feet to fall to their knees or cause difficulty standing, by simply being in the presence of a high level spiritual being.
One must posses 30 or more points in Rieatsu than their opponent for this to start influencing the battle. Anything more than 60 the opponent will not be able to overcome this feeling.

Phantom Pain
High level of spiritual pressure can make an opponent feel as though they are being attacked though nothing is physically happening to them.
One must posses 35 or more points in Reiatsu than their opponent to cause this type of pain. Anything more than 70 the user can cause severe pain making it much harder to fight them.

Paralysis
When a Spiritual being of high reiatsu chooses to they can paralyze an opponent just by focusing pressure through their stare or presence.
One must posses 40 or more points in Reiatsu then their opponent for this to work. Anything more than 80 this works subconsciously meaning upon release anyone within 50 feet will be paralyzed by the reiatsu release.

Offensive Use
Damage
When someone possessing a high level of reiatsu they can damage those around them, this can be stopped if someone equal or higher in reiatsu releases their reiatsu as well. This can be used in various ways, if one has an elemental zanpakuto they can use the effect that their element has to a basic extent, (ex. fire- one can cause minor burns or to catch fire to the target, ice- one can cause frost bite or ice to form on the target, lightning- one can cause spasms or burns to the target, ect......) If one does not posses an element the damage will be blunt force and may cause minor cuts. Also this can be used when an attack barely misses one can surge reiatsu through their blade to cut the opponent even after missing them. The last use can only be used when releasing a large amount of reiatsu at once, when releasing the reiatsu one can swing their sword to create a giant shockwave normally destroying the surrounding environment.
One must posses 25 or more points in Reiatsu than their opponent for these to work.

Killing
In high enough quantities, spiritual pressure can be lethal to others.
One must posses 80 or more points in Reiatsu than others for this to truly be deadly.
