Consequently, he is flirtatious to a fault and refuses to fight a woman he deems "like a Spring Day" unless his own vanity may be placed directly and immediately at stake. He is also perfectly bad at lying and often forgetful, an almost childlike disposition that seems steeped in noble upbringing. Even during fights, he often laughs and jokes with his foes, giving them advice mid battle, especially where the love life is concerned. He is, in a sense, a fighting psychiatrist. Despite all his flaws, those that cross him should never underestimate him. Even though Jun Soo is a gentle giant, almost always holding back greatly, he has giant like strength to match, with blows heavy enough to easily topple small trees and even wield his ungainly long sword and its sheath at the same time, greatly improving his own swinging range.

Background:
Jun Soo "Junichiro" Il "Maeda" was born to a Korean man and Japanese woman. He was an only child, born to simple villagers, people of countries who were often at conflict, love finding its way into another strange place. Even though people were a little wary of Jun Soo at first, the boy taking more after his Japanese mother's roots in his appearance, villagers soon warmed up to him when he began to talk actively like many people at the age of seven and eight. He was eager, cheerful, and willing to help anyone. And unlike other boys, was more willing to defend even young girls' honor for little to no reason. There were no nobles nearby, though there certainly was one the village owed allegiance to. Even if there had been, it would have been considered strange. As the years passed and the boy grew older with his friends, he began saving the money he was given, rather than using it for festivals or traveling merchants to impress the other boys, or for some, girls. Jun Soo was determined to make it count when he needed it most, even keeping his hair long and combed to sell it if needed, although even at that time, it was a treasure envied even by other's daughters, hiding as he slept at night so his parents or other boys would not cut it.
When Jun Soo turned fourteen, he received his first taste of what nobility was like as a new noble took residence in the village. The people new it was coming, a building had been in construction for the past several years. When the noble moved in, he hired servants, young boys to help in the halls, mostly carrying sparring equipment or polishing armor and weapons. Jun Soo took the opportunity immediately without asking his parents, who could use the money in Jun Soo's young mind, and went about his daily task. A month after he had joined his job, and a month of small salary that went mostly to his parents, Jun Soo saw her, a girl of great beauty. The noble had a daughter, a daughter named Eun Ji Kim. Leaving his post, he darted around the first guard and ducked under the second who had turned to protest, smiling as he greeted the noble's daughter happily. Before she could respond with a shy hello of her own, Jun Soo was picked up and tossed out of the grounds. His parents would be told of his behavior and he was instructed to return in two days, where he would be guided by several guards to the gardens for a new job. Hoping he would be able to see Eun Ji again, Jun Soo accepted and awaited the two days anxiously, returning on the second day to find himself in an audience with the noble, his son, his personal guards and the desired Eun Ji Kim. He waved to her, only to be hit roughly from behind by one of his escorts as the nobleman spoke up. He told Jun Soo that he would now be his son's sparring partner and also that Jun Soo would become a part of the household. He would leave once tonight for his clothes, and then never again unless he was told to do so strictly by the nobleman himself. At all times Jun Soo was not busy, he was to be in his own room. His meals would be delivered and so on and so forth. Jun Soo was curious as to why, but did not ask. The noble thought the boy might have been a young assassin, a paranoid man that had lived well because of his own paranoia. Shortly after, Jun Soo tackled the nobleman's son to the ground while sparring without receiving a single blow. Years playing games like tag made him light on his feet, and nimble. A lifetime of being a merchant's son had made him strong. However, the nobleman saw this as a sure sign of mild training, rather than a normal boy and dismissed the training immediately, having Jun Soo retrieve his things, one of which was his savings.
As the years passed, Jun Soo grew. He saw his family sometimes when he darted around the noble grounds on his frequent trips to Eun Ji's room. The maids often saw him, but neither they nor Eun Ji ever told the nobleman. And even though Jun Soo often flirted with some of the maids, Eun Ji never found herself jealous. He always came for her no matter what, actively seeking to talk to her and her alone. And now they were both of an age where escape was possible. They were in their later teens and Jun Soo was monstrously tall, towering over everyone in the household and intimidating many with his size. Even so he was still nimble and still kind. He was also still poorly dressed and clearly filling the wrong role as a trainer. With some help from her brother, the siblings, having grown up next to the gentle giant, convinced their father to let them be their guard. The nobleman agreed, but always sent extras along, still convinced Jun Soo was bad news. So Jun Soo became a guard, though he was never given arms nor armor to protect anyone. Simply there to travel on foot while next to the carriage. On one such excursion, the nobleman died of natural causes in his sleep, leaving his son to take his place. The son, having no ill wills against Jun Soo, married quickly and clothed him in finer robes of silk, letting he and Eun Ji go to and fro where they pleased, treating Jun Soo as an adviser, rather than the servant his father had. To the three of them, this was nearly perfect. And perfection continued for a year this way, when a festival was invaded by raiders. Eun Ji was there with seven guards, and the unarmed, silk clad Jun Soo. Although the guards fell, Jun Soo did not, fighting off the men as best as he could with his bare hands and the timbers of the homes that were destroyed. The raiders were driven back by the noble's forces, but the village was heavily damaged, as was Jun Soo. He recovered in full, to the relief of his child hood friends, before giving them a piece of advice they listened to intently. "Cities are protected by loyal dogs. Let us protect this village with a loyal tiger."
Donning a new appearance, Jun Soo underwent a drastic change in his life. Naturally muscular and naturally tall, the siblings clothed him in tight silk and tiger skin, hiding part of his body and showing off the lean muscle of other places. Taking a pair of feathers into his hair, which had grown longer, never cut even with the nobleman's best attempts, Jun Soo became a mixture of a wild, fierce tiger and the warm spring days. To further the intimidation, he requested the local smith to craft a sword that was almost as long as Jun Soo was tall, and various other tradesmen to make a sheath fitting a monstrous blade. When it was done, the illusion that Jun Soo was a true terror waiting to happen was complete, even though only a few swings of his own sword would tire him. The following day, exhibitions began being held showing Jun Soo swinging the massive blade, usually through logs roughly the size of a human waist, and usually right into another log. Outside the shows, Jun Soo also practiced, sparring against air as he developed a style that would increase his stamina and maximize his range. Soon villagers began spreading the legend of the tiger that guarded them from harm, a lone man who could cleave through three people at once or bring down homes with a swing of his blade. Those who came to challenge the legend often dared not fight him. Jun Soo's intimidation was far more than enough to win most fights. Those who did fight often lost as Jun Soo unsheathed his blade, usually swinging the scabbard at them with the hilt as a launcher, the force either knocking them unconscious or giving enough time for him to close in. Even when Jun Soo chose not to move, his range was so much greater than his foe's they couldn't near him for a blow. Jun Soo's stories continued to spread throughout the rest of his life, and his fame even after his death from a heart murmur. His wife of two years, the one he desired his whole life, Eun Ji Kim, now Eun Ji Il, died three months later during child birth. Jun Soo had not even lived to see the birth of his first child.
As a spirit, Jun Soo was dressed finely and moved on to the Rukongai without any altercations at all. Using his apparent status and fine dress, he managed to slide his way into nicer parts of the Rukongai. Not even a decade later, he was put into the academy, not for his reiryoku or reiatsu, but due to his massive strength as a spirit, which was witnessed by scouts when he stood up while they were punishing a civilian and forcing them down with their own reiatsu, walked over to the two of them, and knocked one into the doorway of a nearby bar, all of which was recorded to have been the two Shinigami scouts "hurting a pretty young woman with all the extra weight."
Classified Records - Combative Information
Basic:
Carried Weapons: Zanpakuto
Fighting Styles:
Zanjutsu of a personal style developed during his time alive.
Strength: Jun Soo has massive strength backed by lean muscle, weapon weight, and swinging speed, allowing him enough force to wreck holes in small buildings and completely level ones made of shoddy material. His strength allows him to easily lift things several times his own weight and size and even swing a weapon with a range between six and twelve feet not only single-handed but with great ease.
Speed: Jun Soo is fast for his size, but does not capitalize nor train his speed, instead using what speed he has for positioning, using the brute force of his muscles to swing his weapon at what can be considered incredible speeds, given its sheer size and weight.
Intelligence: Jun Soo is of average intelligence, and would be considerably smarter if much of his attention was not diverted to the opposite sex. He does, however, have an intimate knowledge of his own range and fighting style to the point that he can judge whether he will be at an advantage or disadvantage against opposing weapons should there be no unexpected variables on his opponents part.
Stamina: Jun Soo has a large amount of Stamina from years of practicing with his massive weapon, both before and after his death, able to drag out fights until opponents with smaller weapons are out of breath or tired while still laughing and smiling.
Durability: Jun Soo is somewhat durable, able to take blows from blunt weapons quite well and shave off damage from sharp weapons that happen to be small, mostly due to the tiger skin clothing he wears. However, piercing weapons tend to ignore all of his defenses unless they miss their mark greatly.
Advanced:
Spiritual Pressure: Jun Soo's Spiritual pressure is average, being neither underwhelming nor overwhelming to the general populace of the Seireitei.
Swordsmanship/Accuracy/Other: Although trained in his own style, Jun Soo's swordsmanship and accuracy in it are quite remarkable, especially after several centuries of practice, allowing him to either outskill or overpower his foes if the foe does not do so to him.
Special Training:
Vandal Tiger Fighting Style: A style devised by Jun Soo's own intellect and skill involving extreme amounts of range and strength to zone opponents away from him to minimize damage to him while maximizing its output. This spiritual bush will last for three of the users posts, tying down enemies, absorbing pure reiryoku attacks, and acting as an immobile shield for Jun Soo to hide behind. This bush however, can only withstand three direct physical blows, or nine Kido based blows before dissipating, regardless of how strong they are.
Yubona Shizu (Promising Seeds): Jun Soo gathers the white aura around him into the palm of his hand. The aura turns a deep green as he throws it, the palm of condensed energy scattering into thirteen "seeds" as it is tossed. Upon contact with any solid object, each individual seed explodes violently explodes upwards for three meters before it continues an additional seven meters upwards, every meter past the third forcing out branches nine meters away from it, narrowing down to half a meter at the top, forming massive trees of spiritual energy before they fade away into particles, blowing away in the breeze. The upwards force and explosive growth can cause major whiplash. lacerations, and impalement as well as blunt force trauma. Jun Soo's Bankai is immediately sealed after this technique finishes.
