Personality Traits:
[-] Jealous // Not of anything in particular, but the High School student has a tendency to grow jealous easily. With her strict upbringing, Shiloh feels everyone else has a better life than her. Unless it's quite obvious they do not. For those such people she'll feel nothing but pity, though not really do much to help them. Partly it's out of uncaring of others. Partly her not feeling she could do much for them with her own finances not the best. Like most people, however, she does have a conscious. In the presence of someone staring at her, the guilt tends to be too much for her to ignore the person or persons in need just for the sake of her own reputation.
The jealousy is something she tries to keep hidden, but usually fails utterly at. There is already so much bitterness within the teenager that she feels like she can't fit anymore in there. This usually only comes out in her facial expressions and how strained her speech may become. If it's something she feels she deserves, she will become spiteful, often getting this out of her system by messing with the 'offending' person. Sometimes by saying snide things to their face. Usually by taking the quieter route of passive aggression. If she can find some way to slander someone in a newspaper or discreetly change an appointment in their book, she will. Even if they don't know it was her, it still gives her the silent satisfaction of taking it out on someone.
[+] Polite // Shiloh had been raised to be a good little lady. Mostly by her father, he had taught her the ways of being meek and listening to her elders. Along with showing humility and manners. He had aimed to create a perfect little daughter for himself, one who wouldn't go back on his decisions with her life if she learned to obey the man of the house early in life. Though her mother protested, the woman was no better. Selected for her own meekness. She wouldn't stand up to her husband's decisions on how to run the house or their child. Though he was not abusive, it soon created a fast tension in the household between father and daughter. But by the time she noticed what was going on, Shiloh had already been engraved deeply with the art of good manners. Always giving strangers and friends alike a little curtsy or never forgetting her thank yous, on the outside she was what her father wished.
Whether Shiloh is truly nice, it cannot be said she is rude to those she meets. Even people she is not fond of get the kind side of her. Her tone of voice never conveying her utter dislike for someone, she will even go as far as to help them with something if they ask. But only if they ask. Shiloh will not go out of her way to help others unless she is asked. At times there are those who try to use this to their advantage, only to come across a brick wall firmly set in their path. Being a journalist means she is observant. Catching this girl unawares to take advantage of her kindness is not as easy a task as it seems like.
[-] Innocent //
[-] Hateful // Under the mask of manners is a hateful young woman. Shiloh doesn't exactly aim to fool people for the chances to get something she wants. That's not to say she hasn't taken advantage of people this way. She has and will. She puts on a veil of innocence that is not entirely false and pretends to be helpful. For however long it takes. Sometimes this is to get something she needs. Sometimes it's just to get back at someone. Of course, these are not without their risks. If someone she has fooled before sees her and calls her out, she faces big trouble. Thus, she picks her targets as carefully as she can. She plans the day ahead of schedule so nothing goes wrong. At times it does. Fortunately, she has yet to overcome her timidness about doing anything major, so she doesn't often face much trouble. She does get into trouble, of course. She's faced her share of detentions and has been expelled from school, but nothing more serious than that. It remains to be seen if she'll worsen with age or calm down once she leaves her teenage years. Getting in trouble seems to do little to diminish her attempts to ruin people's lives when she feels it necessary.
There seems to be little in life that gives the teenager satisfaction. Whether this is just a phase or something that will last if not changed, Shiloh only takes comfort in her crafts, games, and journalism. She rarely smiles and if she does, it's only to be polite as she was taught to do. There always seems to be a sadness that follows her around of something she refuses to speak about. Offers for counselors are ignored or turned down. To Shiloh, it's her problem. Not to be shared with the rest of the world or strangers.
What is her problem? Her father. His controlling nature makes her bitter and hateful towards the rest of the world. 'Specially those who try to help.
[+] Observant //
[+] Ambitious // When she turns old enough, Shiloh plans to move out on her own. Even if she must get a roommate to do so. Her life and what she plans to do with it are all planned out in a notebook she keeps under her pillow. It's full of goals and a ladder to achieve them and when. She finds she works best when she writes everything down like that. This goes without saying that the girl is organized. Her socks are organized by color. Her clothes are carefully smoothed down and placed together. All the dresses she would wear something fancy are put together. The summer dresses in another spot. The jeans down below. And so on. Everything has a place and this place is where that object will return to once not in use. Anyone who messes with it is quickly reprimanded. Her father had learned long ago not to touch anything in her room. Shiloh would keep it clean and organized herself.
Aside her organization, there is a great need to achieve her goals and prove herself to the world. Shiloh wants little more than to rise high in life, preferably as a renowned reporter. She trains herself every day for the day she can finally apply herself to newspapers. Practice comes with the school papers, her own personal one, and her little stories about her Sims and their many deaths. For death is the most interesting of headlines. The who done it and why draws her in like a moth to the flame. As she knows it does everyone else. Everyone wants to read about a good murder.
Hobbies:
RPG, Sim Style Games // This developed through Shiloh's desire to control and dominate. Her father was always making her do things she didn't want to do and being controlling over her, so she gets her satisfaction by playing certain games. Too timid a person on her own to stand up for herself really anywhere, the teenager sticks to ruling over the lives of virtual people. She is more fond of the computer Sims games, having the ability to create separate houses of people on the same game without messing up anything. She'll set up her main families that she'll treat nicely. And then she'll have other families she, basically, tortures. The violence never leaves the computer. She finds amusement in making fires and trapping them in a pool with no way out. Both types of Sim families are not based on anyone from her actual life who may have angered or upset her, however. They are just Sims.
These types of games is also where Shiloh's creativity can also shine. The death houses-meaning the ones which house families she messes with-each tell an interesting story of murder and betrayal. Sometimes the curse of the house spills over onto another, leading in another mass death of the entire household, people and animals included. She enjoys making the stories and playing them out, making the people talk. What stories she comes up with, she writes down in a notebook.
Arts and Crafts // Shiloh's mother loved to make things. When she was alive, the entire house was full of crafts. Handmade pillows. Knitted dishcloths in the kitchen. Sculptures littered every table, painted in beautiful colors. It was no wonder that Shiloh picked up the hobby after her mother, following the older woman around and asking as many questions as one little girl could about how you made this and what was done with that.
Now, as a young woman herself, Shiloh still keeps it up. Her favorite style seems to be jewelery. Her father won't display the crafts her mother made, but his daughter keeps them safe in boxes in her room or decorating her room, to always remind her of the good times. While her own crafts adorn her neck, wrists, anklets, ears, and any article of clothing she can get her hands on. All the little details on her lolita clothing was done by her own hands. Sometimes Shiloh will even buy a cheap dress at the thrift store and decorate it so it looks a lot more expensive than it really was.
Journalism // From a young age, Shiloh enjoyed writing articles for newspapers and magazines she would read, never submitting them, but just doing it for a fun past-time. This love easily carried over into her Sim worlds. She would write articles about the virtual's murders and accidentally deaths, making her own private newspaper of the events. Mystery and scandal were her favorite topics to cover.
She later pursued this love at school, earning her a place on the newspaper. She started off small, which was fine for her, reporting on school plays. Not her choice of subjects, but everyone had to start somewhere. So she did her best on her articles until she could be promoted to something more interesting. Patience paid off and next year one of the main reporters graduated. Shiloh took his place and it's there she still resides.
