Downloaded the trial first on PSN, and I was pretty impressed with this RPG.
The battle system of the game is grid-tactics and turn-based, similar to Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea.
If those types of games aren't your thing I would ask that you give the trial a try. It's different to others and is pretty addictive. Don't worry about the dreaded tutorial! It's pretty simple and appears slowly as you progress in the game when you need to know it.
They even give you a choice when starting to have Normal or Hard difficulty and a choice of how much you start with in your inventory. So if you aren't into these games, but are willing to give it a try you can start with plenty of coins and potions. Or the more experienced gamer can start with nothing!
At first the fights with monsters can be pretty lengthy, but that can be fixed when you get the hang of the controls and when you level up. The levelling can be precise as you can choose certain areas to level up, such as Attack, Defence, Speed, Luck, etc.
It boasts of more than 40 hours of gameplay and over 50 trophies including a platinum for you trophy whores ;D
At this point I can't really find anything negative to say about it (I have only spent a few hours playing.). Only that DLC can make it easier for you, but can be pricey, and consist of items and not extra areas or anything like that. Paying for those extra items can give you a shortcut through the game and to the trophies, but then do you really want to complete it so quickly? You have this whole game to spend hours on, why rush it? Make the most of it. I personally think the DLC just another way to make money from the lazy gamers.

Just unlock the full game. Or unlock the game, get the soundtrack, and a starter pack.
