I'm new to the whole Final Fantasy series, I am currently emulating tactics, and hopefully FFX, but I was wondering, because right now I am playing Final Fantasy 13, what did you guys think of it and what are some tips for Paradigm shifts? Those confuse me. ;_; To get the conversation started, do any of you guys like Vanille or Snow? They both annoy me but I dont know why. sweatdrop

I've played it. It wasn't my favorite by any means. I hated Snow at first because he looks exactly like an ex boyfriend of mine, except with blond hair. So every time Snow was on the screen I was like "******** YOUUUUU" lol Vanille is a pretty character, but her voice actress couldn't keep the accent consistent and she was pretty much the stereotypical "Kawaii Elf Princess"
Whenever you are going to be shifting paradigms always keep in mind that the very first time you shift in the battle, your party will do this ridiculous "Charlie's Angels" pose that takes up time. During this time enemies can still attack you and an enemy's stagger meter will continue to fall. So always anticipate that first shift and don't shift when you're 1 hit from death because you WILL die.

I would be like "NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE FANCY POSES HOPE, JUST CURE ME." theyre pretty ridiculous. It's even harder with the eidelons(did I spell that right?) As for snow, I've always hated him. Hes so dense i just want to knock his brain into the right place. LIKE HONESTLY. Ugh. The "kawaii elf princess" thing is so true, Vanille is pretty, but..so..kawaii. it makes me gag.

Not the best series of the Final Fantasy Series but I fairly enjoyed the the series and waiting on Lightning's Return.. For paradigms I used Ravager/Sentinel/Commando but then swap to Commando/Commando/Commando for the massive damage when they get staggered.. but thats me

I enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII for the most part, what I did like was the story and graphics but most of it's battle and free roam systems kind of sucked. I prefer Snow over Vanille, I did not like Vanille because she was far too naive for my liking and I only barely like Snow because he has a never say die attitude, but I feel he is a bit too dense for his own good. My favorite character would either Lightning and Fang.
I find using a combination of Commando and Medic along with some other random role works, and the Eidelons are somewhat useless, they look cool and all but I have not used them to much so far.

Eidelons weren't that useless in my opinion.. Usually only use them to heal my team completely when needed haha

I liked it, i don't know why others don't. I think its hard to follow the story without the strategy guide or something because I've heard things about the difficulties

wahhh those shifts confused me at first but basically those shifts are meant to stagger your enemies as fast as you can while switching to still balancing attack and healing xd those eidolons sometimes need a specific paradigm so i had the guide book crying i had a party of hope (strongest magic ability) lightning (most balanced), and fang (better sentinel capabilities) and to get a stagger quickly i always had rav/rav/rav or com/rav/rav 3nodding
i literally hated every single character in ff13 smile
