Hi everyone,
I'm a new Christian and also bisexual. Is it wrong to be bisexual? If I don't have sex with a woman, would it be okay? I've had people who call themselves Christians condemning me to Hell. I've never done anything with a woman, but I've felt like I wanted to, before I was a Christian. I need some help in this matter. If I need to give more information I will.

My beliefs on this matter is that bisexuality along with homosexuality aren't in line with God's word.

Even if an individual is a bisexual and have thought about doing something with the same sex, it is a type a lust:

Matthew 5:28 NIV

But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

*This verse applies to both men and women - if you look at another person lustfully (doesn't matter if they are the same sex or not) or thought about it in a lustful manner- they have committed adultery in their own heart.

If the thoughts or feelings of having attraction for someone of the same sex are there in your mind - then find the reason you feel that way and ask God for help so that you do not pursue those thoughts. Even if a person hasn't done anything with somebody of the same sex and have though about it - there is a possibility of that leading a person astray. Those thoughts shouldn't be there.

Even though the Bible mentions homosexuality specifically and not bisexuality, part of bisexuality is being attracted to both men and woman. Thus, there is a part in there where one is attracted to the same sex in bisexuality.

God designed us to be man and woman - thus Adam and Eve. If God didn't mind it being man and man or woman and woman - I believe He would've said so somewhere in His word.

Bisexuality as homosexuality is a sin - a sin that is equal to all others and not worse or less than breaking the 10 commandments. We are to try and rid of sin in our lives, no matter what shape or form it comes in. I will say that people who have condemned you to Hell and such are wrong for doing so because no one can judge where your soul goes except for God. Your job is to follow God's word and will for your life so that you may enter His kingdom. A lot of Christians out there mistake homosexuality or bisexuality for being a highly evil sin - but sin is sin - it's equal. The only unforgivable sin I have read about is blaspheming The Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31 - 32). I believe that homosexuals as well as bisexuals can turn their life around in order to receive the gift of salvation.

Also, there are people in life who are homosexual or bisexual for a reason. Some people I have met become homosexual or bisexual because they have been hurt by the opposite sex too many times and might be curious what it's like to be with someone of the same sex. I know some who have turned to homosexuality or bisexuality because their parents wish they would've been born the opposite sex and treated them as such or hated them because they weren't born a boy or girl (whatever the case may be). Sometimes people revert to this because of something they've experienced or being hurt - it can be associated with emotional damage. If there was something that caused you to be bisexual that is due to being hurt in the past, or peer pressure, identify the problem and fix it by doing what you need to do.

I will let you know that even so - you are still welcome in my guild 3nodding

Thank you for the great reply. ^^ I've been praying a lot and reading the Scriptures and have felt less feelings for the same sex. ^^ It's not gone completely but with God's help it will be. It is a struggle but soon (I hope) the feelings will be gone. ^^

I have been in your shoes. I was a flaming bi sexual for 6 long years and felt far from God. I knew He wanted me to give it up, so I prayed away those feelings everyday for a long time and then God delivered me! He's so good and wants you to bring those feelings to Him. With prayer all things are possible.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Resist the bisexual temptation and the devil will flee.

You can do it through God! smile
