- - - » The End is the Beginning Classes... *whimpers* They're not too difficult, just time consuming. And I'm terrible at writing essays so probably takes me twice as long to write them. Just trying to make it to Spring break next month >.< Thinking about it, I haven't done anything creative/artsy since classes started.
And you? Do anything special this past week(end)? Seeing that Valentine's was last week and lots of places have today off. The Beginning is the End - - - »

I feel like my breaks from school are actually when I'm the most burnt out on art projects and the least creative...haha. sweatdrop My weekend was pretty good. I went out to dinner with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day, and we celebrated my mom's birthday last night. Besides that I've just been relaxing. How about you? biggrin

Oh wow, I think I'd go crazy if I were an art major! Are you specializing in a certain area? Is there anything you'd like to show~? *hinthint* It's funny, I was expecting to enjoy not taking an art class this semester, but I actually miss it. Don't get me wrong, it was stressful and I'd never want to make a career out of it, but I guess there's something about being creative I miss. Am I making sense? >.< And I think I'd feel the same way, being burnt out by the time a break rolls around.
Aww! That's nice~ c: Being "forever alone" I watched Lion King 2 for Valentine's Day, it's the most Valentine's-y movie I own xD And went to Chicago on Sunday with the 'rents because everyone was off at the same time for once. I'm glad to hear you were able to relax c:

Hey, sorry I've been gone! sweatdrop Lots of things going on in many different places, though I can't say I've been entirely productive... But I'm currently in the process of doing some "soul searching", I guess? I'm trying to make plans to move back to the city and live with some old friends, I love my parents but where I live now is very dry and stifling. It's hard to stay motivated. The only thing that stands in my way is money, I've been led to believe that getting a job there isn't too bad compared to here; but, I don't want to take any chances, so I'm still sniffing around for some job leads. I'm very close to changing my major from computer science to something like graphic design, and learning to program at my own pace instead; Maybe I'm just tired of the teachers here, but either way if I feel like I'm not getting anywhere, that's no good. In any case, I'm glad to see you guys are still doing well. I apologize for my absence. I'd like to say I'll try to be around more often, but honestly I can't make a promise like that, haha. I still love you all nonetheless ♥

The Beginning is the End - - - » Aw, that's cool! The Lion King is my all-time favorite movie. I still remember when the second movie came out...I went to the Disney Store and got a Kiara music box and little Kiara and Kovu stuffed animals. I still have them somewhere. That's cool too that you went to Chicago. The biggest city near me is Orlando, but obviously it doesn't compare to Chicago. mrgreen Right now I'm not really specializing in any particular area. I love drawing, painting, ceramics...I guess drawing would be my favorite, but I enjoy basically everything art-related. I don't really want to share any of my work 'cause I'm always really critical of it, but maybe one day I will. 4laugh MimiMinTan Hey, sorry I've been gone! sweatdrop Lots of things going on in many different places, though I can't say I've been entirely productive... After seeing your artwork, I would definitely encourage you to become a graphic art major. Your stuff is really good. mrgreen

No worries, life happens!
I understand where you're coming from. I took a couple years off because I had no idea what to do with my life and was tired of wasting money on tuition. Best thing I've done so far (and getting to courage to go back)! Now I know exactly what I enjoy, how I work best, and how I can turn it into a career. I'm going to end up graduating years later than most of my friends, but I feel a lot better about the direction my life will take. I still live with my parents and it drives me bonkers. Unfortunately, the job market isn't that good here so it doesn't make sense for me to try to move out.
I think you would do well in graphic design, illustration, and concept art. But you should do some soul searching and find what feels right to you. And if you have beginner questions on C-based languages, I'd be happy to share what I've learned. I know the classes your university offers are for Java, but I figured I'd throw that out there xD
I think most of us are in the same boat. Real life does take precedent. I hope you're able to find a job, move out, and be successful in your soul searching!

Aww! I think I have a kissing Simba and Nala plush somewhere... Maybe... Though the part when Mufasa dies always scared me so I wouldn't want to watch the movie xD Haven't seen it in forever. And Chicago's ok, while it's huge it's also not quite my speed to visit. After you do all the touristy stuff, it's one of those cities you'd have to live in to enjoy. Or just go for a show/museum/event. And parking's a nightmare, I really should figure out their public transportation xD But you're so lucky to live somewhere warm! And close to the ocean~
Wow, sounds like you're multi-talented! I hope you're able to find the career path that works best for you! And no worries ^_^ It's still really hard for me to take critique well, but, at least in a classroom setting, it has helped me feel more comfortable sharing my stuff and I've learned a few more things from it. I'm not trying to pressure you, I guess I'm just trying to say that it does get easier and your peers can be a valuable resource. Take your time, get comfortable, and enjoy what you do~
