1 Corinthians 13:6-7
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Happy Valentine's Day!

All four of the underlined verbs above about love are present tense, indicating these attitudes and actions are to be one's lifestyle, and thus represent a continuous choice. This is impossible in our sinful fallen nature — only "Him-possible" by the strengthening and enablement of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer.

- Love bears all things: love covers and supports and therefore protects. Love does not expose or exploit, gloat or condemn. It bears; it does not bare.

- Love believes all things: love sees the best in others and gives the other person the benefit of the doubt, choosing to believe the best about them, not the worst!

- Love hopes all things: love delights to entertain the best expectations and patiently waits for positive results.

- Love endures all things: perseverance and tenacity in all circumstances; in times of pain, suffering, depravation, hatred, loss and loneliness. Love bears up under these things with LOVE and HOPE.

This kind of LOVE "never fails" — 2 Corinthians 13:8.
