The Path of a Warrior

Normal Kitsune - Kitsune that are not yet classed must complete at least one battle. Upon their first victory they will be promoted.

Health: 10 // Attack Points: 1 - 3

*** - Means the current set of edits is not done and thus is not acquirable at the moment!
!!! - Means the Kitsune is already edited from the start and will not gain any more edits except through events.

Tessen can become Samurai.
*** Gunsen can become Ninjas.
*** Gunbai can become Strategists.
*** Yin can become Onmyōji.
*** Yang can become Onmyōji.
*** Aquatics can become Pirates.
*** Avians can become Scouts.
!!! Pre-edited Kitsune become Mercenaries.

Each is effective in a war. Samurai bring strength to an army. Ninjas bring speed. Strategists bring wits and thus some things can be easily countered. Pirates steal from other armies while Scouts find information and resources. Onmyoji add additional strength - both offensive and defensive.

Any Kitsune must choose a human Warlord's clan to follow upon acquiring their promotion in rank! The houses to choose from will be listed in the post below.

Main Human Houses

Upon visiting Azuchi Castle, you feel a sense of intimidation.

* Ranks are not distributed by your family name or your prosperity. Instead they are determined by your ability. Failure to deliver means failure to gain status.

* Fear of firearms is not welcome here. You will be placed with either foot soldiers or gunmen. You must tolerate the decision. Upon being placed with foot soldiers you will be out on the battlefield actively attacking. Upon being placed with gunmen you will be by the rifle units, keeping the gunmen safe from attacking samurai or clearing the path ahead for the units to get set up.

* Ambition and having a fierce and aggressive personality is key to joining the Oda military. They are known as some of the most brutal samurai. Your enemy? All opposing warlords. If they do not join your cause, they must be eliminated.

Toyotomi

Upon visiting Osaka Castle, you feel a sense of determination.

* Creativity is key. You must be clever, and not afraid to do things on a whim.

* Upon personal disputes, fights or, quarrels, the one who shows forbearence (basically not engaging in fighting) will be favored. Matters on the battlefield, however, are a different story.

* You will be placed with foot soldiers, fighting side by side by your human counterpart. Sometimes you will be told to watch over important key generals or strategists to keep them safe. Prove your worth and catch Lord Toyotomi's eye!

* You must have determination and a desire to reclaim control of the land after the Oda perish at Honnoji. The Toyotomi start from the ending days of the Oda rule, into the incident at Honnoji and onward to reclaim the land. You will be met with resistance by other warlords who believe they can try to control the land themselves. They won't be a problem though - you have the drive to make the land yours!

Tokugawa

Upon visiting Edo Castle you feel a sense of peace.

* The most peaceful by far out of the three houses, you must have patience. Acting rashly is unforgivable. Think your problems through.

* The Tokugawa follow a strict class hierarchy originally created by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The daimyo, or lords, were at the top, followed by the warrior-caste of samurai, with the farmers, artisans, and traders ranking below.

* Trained to be a body guard to their human-counterpart, you will always be beside your human. You will listen to orders and preform your tasks without hesitation. Out of all the houses, the Tokugawa has mastered their relationship with their Tessen the best and use them the most effectively.

* You will be met with much resistance by the Western Army in your beginning days. The Tokugawa start from after Toyotomi Hideyoshi falls ill and passes. Your enemy is considered all those whom support the Toyotomi retainer, Ishida Mitsunari.

Further Promotions

Lieutenant - After winning five battles your kitsune will acquire a promotion in rank.

Health: 15 // Attack Points: 2 - 5

They are stronger and have more health than your average kitsune. May they continue to fight to reap the rewards!

General - After winning 10 fights, the Kitsune has acquired another promotion.

Health: 20 // Attack Points: 3 - 8

They are even stronger than before. More health is earned as well. They can now command lower-ranking kitsune in battle and even begin to build their own army.

Warlord - After winning 15 fights and through an event-based promotion.

Health: 25 // Attack Points: 4 - 10

You are the strongest of the strong! Other kitsune fear you. You have risen to the top and command those below you. That army you were building? It now serves you and your word loyally. You can wage war against other Warlords and Generals.

How to Fight

Challenge Threads
You are required to make a challenge thread. Challenge threads are used to keep track of a kitsune's fighting progress. Record their wins, losses, and promotions.

People may challenge your kitsune my posting in your Challenge thread - so be sure to reserve the whole first page!

You may choose to accept or reject the challenge offer. There is no shame in rejecting.

Begin the Fight

If you were attacked, you are to defend. The attacker must make the thread and the first post. If you are attacking you make the thread and the first post, the other person defending. By defending it means you are the second person to post in that battle thread.

How Attacks Work

Acy has challenged Billybob to a battle. Since Acy was the one to challenge Billybob and Billybob has agreed to the battle, Acy must go make the battle thread.

Mock First Post

Kitsune had been itching for a good spar for some time now. They were done with their previous defeat and were out for revenge. Sadly for the other kitsune the revenge would come to whomever it met first. With a slash of it's claws Kitsune lunged at its opponent.

HP: 10

Now... don't forget to generate a random number between your attack range! Whatever number it lands on is the amount of damage your kitsune has done to its opponent.

Now it is the opponent's turn to defend and attack.

Flyboy was minding its own business when out of no where it was attacked! Not tolerating such a display, Flyboy quickly retaliated, ingoing the stinging pain from its freshly acquired wound.

HP: 10 - 1 = 9

For the sake of the battle, the attacker had only landed on 1. So they inflicted one damage on the defender. Now the defender generates a random number along with their post to see how much damage their kitsune deals to its assaulter!

And this continues until one kitsune's HP drops to 0.

The Aftermath

After a battle a losing kitsune must wait 24 hours before fighting again.

A winning kitsune only needs to wait 12 hours before fighting again.

Please edit the battle thread's title to show who the winner is!

Upon winning the thread's title should be something as follows:

"Kitsune vs Flyboy // Winner is... Kitsune!"

This way we know that the fight is completed.
