Tell me a Story:
It was a little awful, really, that Paeytral Guardedheart could brave the darkest parts of the forest and collect the rare flowers and berries that others were too afraid to get -- but tell his dearest friend that he had a crush on her? Suddenly his tongue wouldn't work right and despite how many times he'd practiced his confession in private, when it came to the moment he was so sure would be the one, he would actually tell her this time, the words died in his throat and his usual brave demur was reduced to shyness. So he resorted to this -- trading fish and berries for the craftsmanship of his fellow featherweavers, getting them to put the flowers he'd gathered together in a beautiful bouquet... and then he'd sneak to his friend's tree while she was asleep, leaving his gifts for her to find in the morning. He only wished he could see the look on her face when she saw his gifts.

Cadence Heartsong looked at the newest bouquet that had arrived from her secret admirer. The flowers were lovely as were the other gifts she had received over the past few weeks. Very much the romantic she enjoyed the attention, but was growing more and more determined to discover who was leaving such thoughtful gifts. With those thoughts on her mind she went to her favorite place, a lovely meadow where wildflowers bloomed in profusion. There she ran into her old friend Paeytral. They had known each other all their lives and Cadence was happy to see him. Recently he'd come to her for advice on courting a lady. She'd been happy to give advice, as she had for so many others, on what sort of gifts and things were likely to interest a girl.

She decided to ask him how things were going; it had been a few weeks after all, surely things would have progressed by now. The 'weaver was approaching her friend and ready to speak when a strange idea came to her. The timing could have been a coincidence but it had been around the time Paeytral had asked for advice that she'd begun receiving gifts very like those she had suggested. The look she gave him then was curious and speculative. "How's it going with your ladyfriend?" Cadence finally managed to ask, for once being the shy one.

Paeytral's eyes had widened and his ears had flattened back, because that had been it, the look on her face said it all; he'd been found out. But she wasn't reacting negatively. In fact, she seemed more curious than anything, and Paeytral licked his lips out of nervousness, because there was no backing down now. He returned the speculative look and finally smiled brightly at her, "Perhaps you could tell me?"

Cadence and Paeytral finally came together after he came to her for advice on breaking down the wall that had been built between them by years of comfortable friendship. He knew she'd eventually make the connection between her advice and the arrival of gifts. It turned out to be just what was needed for her to finally begin to view him in a different light. Their courtship progressed quickly from there with a little awkwardness, mostly on her part as she struggled with an old friend who was suddenly more than she had ever imagined. She often was surprised by his devotion and the little ways he had of expressing how much he cared. Cadence very much a creature of love and beauty finally had her match, and he'd been there all along.

Tell me a Story: Armour is a good natured, if slightly dopey, Weaver. His hear is always in the right place, however, and he's able to be quite brave and strong when called upon. He fancies himself a protector: and is fiercely loyal to his friends and family.

One of his best friends growing up was the lovely Weaver Cadence Crystalheart. They have known each other virtually their whole lives. Cadence is loving and sweet-natured, but gullible to the point of concern. Growing up, Armour took it upon himself to protect his best friend from getting herself into trouble.

However, over the years this protectiveness began to make way into devotion, and finally, into love.

Cadence is rarely seen without Armour lovingly at her side, willing to shield her from any danger; physically or emotionally.
