Princess- Orphelia started this guide as a way of helping new users around the forums. To be brief, this is a rough summary of what happens in certain forums, and the general does and don't s of Gaia and it's information that has been gathered from all over the place.
Anyone is free to use it, it'll also help a little in finding certain things around the site. Please excuse the overuse of exclamation points in the guide.
I would like to recognize that I can not take credit for this guide it was originated from this past guide that Princess-Orphelia took a great amount of time and a lot of hard work to make it for you guys. I'm just here to update it and revamp<3, thank you Princess for creating this guide
2- Be literate. (considered to be the ability to read and write, or the ability to use language to read, write, listen, and speak)
3- Reading the whole front page. (Usually of a large or permanent thread)
4- Be polite. This includes saying please and thank-you to people for various reasons.
5- No God-modding. This can offend many people. Please keep any and all impromptu roll-playing realistic to you, and your avi.
6- Follow the rules of whichever thread your in. These are the rules the owner/creator of the thread has given you, and they must be followed to the dot.
7- Follow the forum rules, these are set by Gaia staff and administrators to help run Gaia smoother.
Definitions of some terms on Gaia:
1- Bump; Bring Up My post This is usually done with the word "Bump" or an emoticon such as "heart" or "blaugh"
2- LMP; Lowest Market Price This term is usually only used in The Gaia Exchange Forum, though you may encounter it elsewhere.
3- AMP; Average Market Price See "LMP"
4 - GC - Gaia Cash. This is purchased with real money, either by buying a cash card at a store, or with your paypal account; however, you will usually get a free item if you purchase a card. With GC you can buy premium items such as RIGs, MCs, EIs, and special holiday items. You can also buy gold shop items with cash. You cannot buy items in the marketplace with GC, nor can it be traded between users. To get cash for free, you can complete some surveys Here. NOTE: These offers will link you to other sites. Be careful about viruses when doing some of these offers. Even clean ones may ask you for personal information, and spam your e-mail address with advertisements. Furthermore, some of the offers claim to be free but will require you to purchase one of their products before you receive your cash. Watch out for scams, and make sure you get the cash you are promised when you do them. The Survey of the Day offers seem to be the best option.
5 - RIG; Random Item Generator. These come from the cash shop and will grant you an item when you use it. Some of them are pretty pricey! RIGs are officially called CIs, but you're more likely to see them called RIGs in the forums. You can see what the most recent RIG available is Here
6 - EI; Evolving Item. These are cash items that begin with a few poses, and more are added over time. When it evolves, you lose the first poses from it and gain new ones. A new generation with the initial poses becomes available in the cash shop. As a rule of thumb, EI's worth 999GC will evolve every two weeks, EI's worth 749GC will evolve every three weeks, and EI's worth 499GC and under will evolve once a month. 7 - REI; Rapid Evolving Item - Same as above, except it evolves more than once a week, and when new poses are added, you don't lose the old ones. This is newer there isn't a place you can go to look at these but just keep updated on the cash shop and announcements for recent REI
8 - MC; Monthly Collectible. These are "letters" that remain closed until the 15th each month. When they open, you will get to choose one of two items. They are also called Donation Items or Sealed Envelopes. To buy or learn more you can go here

❤ Posting in the Gaia Forums is a popular choice. You can meet new people and make friends. The forums open up many choices in what you can do. One can draw peoples avatars, post randomly for gold, or take place in the Gaia Exchange to test if they have what it takes to make gold.
❤ Playing one of our many Games is another way to make gold, meet new people and chat quicker.
❤Gaia has several virtual worlds to hang out in. You can race against other users in Rally, chat and collect bugs inTowns, or live it up like a celebrity in Virtual Hollywood. If you just want to hang out with your friends you can now create Friends Chat! If none of those are your thing, you can hang out in the Forest Stage and learn about how to protect the environment!
❤Booty Grab is the quickest way to earn gold! Find some tanks in the Aquarium Forum, or go here to play with some guild member's tanks!

❤Chatterbox Vs. General Discussion ❤ Commonly there has been known to be a rivalry between the General Discussion forum, and the Chatterbox forum. Nobody is too sure where this rivalry started, or what fuels it to this day other than the fact that is has been there forever.
❤The Gaia Exchange❤ Though there is little to talk about here, this is the location many choose to make money. Often by buying and selling items for profit. Or by visiting the charity forums in hopes for a lucky break. This is often the only location one can find items from the year Gaia was created.
❤Mini Shops❤ While some choose to exchange items to make gold, many still choose to use their hands. This forum is home of many artists who sell their time drawing for Gaia gold, or items of value. Some works of art are sold for as little as 200 gold. Where other yet are sold for millions of gold. It all depends on who is willing to pay what.

In this section you'll be introduced to the hierarchy of Gaia staff.
Let's start off with the types of Moderators/Staff there are on gaia;
Forum Assistants: Formerly called "Helpers" and "Moderator Assistants". They are responsible for thread moves only in specific forums they are assigned to. Forum Assistants DO NOT assist users with Terms of Service violations.
Site Moderators: Responsible for specific forums on the site, handle Terms of Service Violations and thread move requests. These moderators also cover Gaia games, chat rooms, towns, and other features of Gaia.
Global Moderators: Responsible for Abuse and Harassment cases, as well as help oversee Terms of Service violations across the entire site. Global Moderators may have other special functions that are specific to a particular role.
Omnimoderators: Responsible primarily for account issues, hacking and scamming cases, as well as special projects related to account security, site safety and moderator training.
Administrators: Leaders of the Community and Moderator teams. They are responsible primarily for high-level administrative tasks, billing issues, and overseeing Gaia moderation staff.
Non-Player Characters: A Non-Player Character (example: [NPC] Rina) is an account that is used on Gaia to speak to the public about important and fun topics (like quests and newsletters). Any persons posting with these accounts are Gaia staff but will not be helping you with Terms of Service violations.
Artists, Developers, and other staff: There are many other people who work hard to make Gaia awesome by creating new features and new art, items and much more for you every day! These people have brown names and may post around the site but will not be able to help with Terms of Service violations
