Had an idea pop into my head just now and wanted to see what people thought of it.
Maybe to kick off the start of the year we could make a thread where guildies can toss in a "New Year's Resolution" for Gaia. Maybe it could be a quest for an item, or an achievement, or something of the sort. A resolution that you'd think you could feasibly manage this year.
It would be kind of like a joint quest thread of sorts. Depending on your goal, you could plop it down here and other members could take a look and see if they could help in any way. (Ex. An alchemy goal could have a list of components you hope to gather by the end of the year... and if guildies wanted to, they could donate if they're feeling generous enough)
Boring Example: "Hi! I'm The-Lady-Anatola! And here's my boring introduction! emotion_omnomnom Resolution: To Fall of the Evening Star/To completed this dream avi (insert avi here) /To craft Forgotten Reverie/To reach Level 2 Alchemy/Achieve Millionaire
(I dunno, I just picked out random ones. I might not actually work on these. xd I'm intending for members to pick only one though.)
All the resolutions could be in the first post with all the details of what exactly they're working for, and members could give them a glance over to see if they felt like contributing.
I dunno, I've been feeling particularly generous thanks to this Apocalypsmas and Secret Santa-ing... and I kind of wanted to know if any of my fellow Aekeans had any goals that I could contribute to. I'm not really good with setting up these kind of things though, so I'd need help making it organized and pretty, etc.
I think if a handful of members could pick out 1-expensive-item or 1 dream avi or one Alchemy project etc., it wouldn't be that bad. Of course no one HAS to donate or help out, but I think it would be fun if we got together, made some goals, and tried to help each other reach them before the year ends. 3nodding I'm not the only one that stalks friends' wishlists, right?

I've too many things that need to be done in one year. haha
That's why I said, "I'm intending for members to pick only one thing though." xd I know my wishlist is exploding with things I want to get, but I keep getting distracted by other new shiny things. And I'm thinking more along the lines of "it would take me a year to get this" rather than "I could get this within the year." Something difficult, but not ridiculous. (like the dream avi I made for my friend that I promised to help him get.... emo) But I think if people were to slap down one thing they'd work at, it would be easier to move things along instead of looking at a giant list of to-dos.

haha well, I add things to my wishlist but I don't add things to my quest. I added animated items and that was the only time I added something. Really I only have two things I want done in Gaia: Acquire the things in my thread and get 15mil to start a charity. That's all I live for on Gaia to do. ouo

Wolfie: Haha, you could always toss in one item off your quest just so guild members are aware of it. I know some people don't take the time to read a long quest thread (I usually try to read everything, but sometimes my eyes like to mess with me when reading a lot of text. xd) I realize I have nothing I'm really "questing" for. If I get something off my wishlist, it's always, "Hey, I can finally afford that one. (buys) WAH POOR." Rinse repeat. sweatdrop

I think if I were to make a resolution, it would be to get Millionaire. I need to get myself to stop spending money, so a goal of only saving would really help. heart
hrmm well, If I have too, I'd rather say getting 15 mil to start up my future charity would have to be mine. ouo I've only got about 7 mil into it. >3<

Is this all by saving, or are these from solely donations? I wonder if we'll even get that many people in anyway. Things have gone quiet in the guild once again. xd Maybe I'll just keep track of resolutions on the first post until I feel the need to start a separate thread.
Little of both. ouo I collect small amounts of gold with my mules and transfer a small amount every now and then to the one I have the gold in. Not much is going on so it's excepted to go quiet for a bit. ouo

Hm... I do have this big avatar project I'd love to work on... I have to dress up myself and 6 of my friends, one having 2 outfits... Now to do a little math... Outfit 1: 1,872,227 Outfit 2: 599,000 Outfit 3: 4,270,803 Outfit 4: 21,573,276 Outfit 5: 1,003,598 Outfit 6: 1,401,878 Outfit 7: 1,699,000 Outfit 8: 3,840,080 Total: 36,259,862

My resolution of course is to craft Erebus' Moon! emotion_dowant Which involves getting to level 10 of course, but that's the main goal. I don't have a quest thread, but I do have the list of components I still need in my test thread.

Always thinking way too far out of the box. Ah well, what's a game without impossible goals? emotion_awesome I'm sure I'll get those outfits together someday. It certainly helps that the people I'm dressing are willing to shop around on their own too. heart How nice that they humor me.
