The Lake of Lady Thalassa

It stands at the edges of the lands overruled by Ares and his son, the one place of peace in this world of war. No one has ever been able to explain why it was so cold, this far from the mountains but it was...so cold, in fact that the Lake's waters were all but frozen. The winds were all but calm, unknowing of the madness that was going on in the secondary lake of this madness.

Unlike the Hydra lake, nestled in the heart of Ares' land; this lake was calm and without occupants save for the fish and friendly water nymphs. Beautiful flower bushes and trees of all kinds line the lake, which appears to be trapped in a world of Winter for all time.

The Elf had fled from the Hydra lake without second thought. It was like a little voice (okay, maybe a big voice) yelled at her to stop being a fool and go find her place, which wasn't in the battle field. Both legs aching like mad, Aubrey fell to her knees by the frozen lake. She was panting heavily, the snow and ice forming to her body but like all elven kind; she was much warmer blooded, and didn't feel the cold like the other races out there.

She felt horrible, like she had just failed in some test and began sobbing heavily by the lake's edge, which began to bubble gently under the thin layer of ice. She looked up and watched as three little ice fairies (all dancing under the water) waved at her, before going off on their way.

She smiled, looking up at the sky as a bright ray of sun peeked out and shown on her. There was a reason why that voice (that horrifyingly bold, loud voice that seemed utterly male, somehow) told her to run from the battle...

Not all retreats are cowardice, so she shouldn't feel that way.

Standing up, Aubrey began investigating the surrounding areas more...walking at a slow, plodding pace.
