Rose Tyler"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself."It was raining, always raining. Rose couldn't help but wonder why, in the four months that she had been stuck in this parallel universe, it never really stopped raining. Sure, this location was rather known for rain, but still. It was almost as if the weather reflected her current mood... which never really strayed that far from desperately miserable. It had been four months to the day that she had last seen the Doctor.... the real Doctor. Only three months in a week since the Human Doctor, who had at that point gone by John Smith, had passed away after a hostage situation at a bank... that she, Rose, had been unfortunate enough to witness. Trying not to think of it too much, Rose stepped off the bus and headed to the building right in front of the bus stop. It was that of Torchwood. Honestly, after all she had been through, the only thing that she could think of was to join them. She knew a thing or two about aliens now... well, she assumed she could help in this universe. The aliens shouldn't be that off compared to the universe that she would have preferred to be in. But that wasn't why she was coming in. She already had the job. Being the daughter of the man who owned Torchwood did have it's perks, after all. No, she had received a phone call telling her that they had created a device that should be able to get her through the void and into the right universe. Key word on should. So, without really giving herself time to worry about what the repercussions could possibly be, Rose strapped the contraption, which vaguely looked like a device that Captain Jack Harkness had used on a few occasions, onto her wrist. It looked rather like an oversized leather watch, honestly. She did what she was directed to, letting them know that she would send something back once she knew the thing worked, and she set off. Nearly immediately, Rose could tell something was off. She wasn't sure what, but it was clearly too late to do anything about it. There was hardly a heartbeat's time until she felt ground beneath her feet. She stumbled a few steps backward against something heard and wooden, her back making a loud thud as it landed against a blue panel. She could feel her legs give out, as she sank to the ground. As she looked out, she could vaguely see a white sign painted just over her head as she passed out. It wasn't that uncommon to scramble your brain a bit when traveling through space and time without protection, after all.

He had lost her, Clara, he had lost her, and there was no way of getting her back now. These thoughts were what occupied the Doctor’s mind as he fought, his depression deepening the longer it went on, causing his reflexes to slow with each passing moment. He was about to make his final move when the bullet entered his chest, nicking a lung on its way through his body, making it hard to breath, and slowing him down further.
His own weapon, a gun of the same caliber only had two shots left, and he knew he had to make them count, thus he steeled himself and fired twice, at close range, straight through the heart of his assailant. This however, had taken longer than he had expected, and he had lost a lot of blood and his lung was deflating quickly, making it harder and harder for him to breathe normally. He knew he was dying when he noticed that familiar golden glow of regeneration energy begin to seep out of his hands. It was then that he began to stumble back to his TARDIS, his breathing becoming quicker and shallower by the second.
As soon as he entered the TARDIS and the doors had closed, he fell to the floor, whispering quietly to himself, “Better now than later,” as soon as the words left his mouth the regeneration energy burst from his head and hands, catching the control panel ablaze and illuminating the inside of the TARDIS with a golden glow. Then everything in the TARDIS was ablaze and he was still regenerating, his hair darkening and lengthening just a bit, stubble adorning his chin, and his eyes lightening just a tad.
Then, all was silent, for about a minute, before a large bang could be heard coming from the outside of the TARDIS, jostling it a bit, as the Doctor stood from his fallen position on the ground, his breathing still slightly ragged, but more or less back to normal. Looking around himself, he rubbed the back of his head, feeling his still long hair and groaning ever so slightly. Pulling down his bangs, he groaned even more. “Still not ginger!” he complained to no one, when he remembered that there had indeed been a bang on the outside of the TARDIS and he better go and see who, or what, it was.
Flicking the switch for the doors of the TARDIS to open, he walked over to where they would open, only to hear a rather strange ‘thud’ when they opened, though through the exiting, but thickening smoke, he could not tell what made the noise. Bending down, he noticed a blonde haired woman lying, half in and half out of the TARDIS. He was about to shake the woman and ask who she was, but a memory flooded back to him, one from a previous incarnation, or possibly two. Then the name escaped his mouth before he realized it, “Rose,” he said in barely above a whisper, but he still said it, curious as to how and why she was there, as well as what he was supposed to do now.

Rose Tyler"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself."Rose somewhat heard what she thought was someone saying her name. It was rather strange since she knew that the universe she should have landed in would have had her officially labeled as dead... well, that was what the Doctor told her anyway. Rose opened her eyes, flickering them slightly with the contrasting lights. She suddenly was reminded that she wasn't in the same universe as the one she had woken up in this morning. It was sunny outside, but there was something else going on. Something dark as well. It took a moment before she realized that she was partially inside of something. It was then that she noticed a brunette man near her. She sat up quickly, perhaps too quickly. For, as soon as she sat up, she felt dizzy. She placed her hand to her head in an act of steadying herself, and looked to the man. "Sorry," she said, a little bit more than a mumble. Once she no longer felt the dizziness, she stood up, looking around. After first, she couldn't figure out where she was. For one, the interior had changed quite a bit. But, she was also a bit disoriented still. And then she figured it out. She was indeed inside the TARDIS. Almost forgetting the man, she walked over to the console, as if in shock that she had found the TARDIS that easily. And then she remembered the man. She looked back to him, as if trying to decide whether he was a companion or the Doctor. It seemed a little rude to ask that. Well, she had one way to find out... if she even popped in on a regeneration that would even know who she was. Any of them before the ninth wouldn't. But maybe this one would know her... possibly call her by name. Or maybe this was the companion... who would think she had just gone mad or something. "Sorry... again. That was rude just walking off like that. Traveling through space with no protection kind of scrambles your brain a bit," she said. Good apology without necessarily letting him know she couldn't tell if this man was a companion or the Doctor.

He stood as he noticed her beginning to stir, and backed away a bit, realizing that most people did not enjoy having people in their face upon waking up, especially people they may or may not know. Sure, he was the Doctor, but he had regenerated twice since the last time he had seen her, and had changed quite a bit, especially the mustache and beard, those were just plain weird. The long hair, yeah, he thought it made him look like a girl, but he could live with it, but a mustache and a beard, those he would have to get used to having.
As the woman he presumed to be Rose awoke completely, he remained silent, even as she apologized, for something, then went wandering off into the TARDIS as if he was not even there. Not that he really minded, because he figured that she likely did not realize who he was, either that or she was not actually Rose, but some stranger who looked like her that happened to stumble upon the TARDIS by accident, though that would not explain the ignoring and the wandering farther inside, or would it? He really was not sure, but before he could rightfully figure it out, she had returned and was speaking to him. She apologized once again, and then she said something about traveling through space without protection, it had to be Rose! “Oh, no worries, Rose, is it?” he said, taking the safe route, still not sure he she knew who he was or not. “I do reckon that I need to fix the Control room and get out of these clothes, how he wore them, I have no idea,” he muttered, mostly to himself as he fidgeted slightly, eyes wandering to the Control Room then down at his clothes, pulling at the collar and bow tie.
It was strange, seeing Rose, because, if memory was serving him correctly, one of his previous incarnations, the tenth to be exact, placed her in an alternate universe with a human version of himself created from a severed hand. It seemed plausible, considering he was indeed the last of the Time Lords, but what did not make sense was her, in the TARDIS, with him, at that current moment in time. Growling slightly to himself, he returned his gaze to Rose, scratching at his beard slightly, boy was it strange to have one, having never had one, or a mustache in any of his previous incarnations. It puzzled him as to why he had one now. “Perhaps I am getting closer to becoming a ginger?” he muttered aloud, not even realizing he had done so, even after the fact. The beard and mustache had him so distracted he did not even begin to register that all the flames had extinguished themselves and the smoke was quickly clearing. He once again pulled at the collar and bowtie of his clothing, which happened to be even more uncomfortable than the beard, he needed new clothing, and fast, but he first needed to take care of Rose. “Rose!” he had almost forgotten her when her name escaped his lips in a slight yell, snapping him out of whatever ginger daydreams he had been having.

Rose Tyler"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself."Rose watched the man a moment as he moved about. She nodded when he asked her if it was Rose. Okay, so... not the Doctor. The Doctor wouldn't have needed a reminder on her name. She was certain about that. But, what he said next made her not quite certain on that anymore. He was talking about fixing the Control Room, which, as far as she was aware, was impossible by anyone other than the Doctor. While watching this man, Rose tried to find something, anything that could place him to the Doctor. In both regenerations that she had known, there were ways of telling.... Granted, she had no idea what the regeneration after her Doctor wore, so that one was out. And, what he said next made her confident that he was the Doctor. He was the only one she had ever known to ask about him being a ginger. When the Doctor yelled her name, and said, "Doctor?" She leaned against the console gently, something she had done frequently when she was his companion, and watched him. "How long have you been by yourself?" she asked him after a moment. He was talking to himself, and that was never a good sign. Even when he went on his weird explanation rampages, they were always aimed at other people. Now, he was talking to himself? He must have been away from people for a while.

He was still fidgeting when she spoke to him, calling him ‘Doctor’ which helped, because he was starting to think she was not the Rose he had know, even though she had nodded when he questioned her name. He almost started muttering to himself again, when he heard her voice again, asking how long he had been by himself. How long had he been by himself? He really was not sure. If he counted Clara only about two, possibly three weeks, but she was only his companion for a short while, and while he felt connected to her, he really was not sure he considered that time with her as not part of his lonely period. “Well, if you count Clara as a companion, then only two, maybe three weeks, if you do not count Clara, for my time with her was extremely short, it has been much, much longer,” he explained, still fidgeting. However, as he looked at Rose, he calmed slightly, taking in the familiar pose of his old companion. It was truly good to see her, it really was, but it brought up so many questions, and he was not sure if he was exactly in a position to be asking questions.
“It is good to see a friendly face, such as yours Rose. However, it begs the question, how are you here?” he questioned, his tone not as fretful as it had been, and definitely not as rushed as his previous sentence had been. He was slowly calming down, taking deep breaths, and just, relaxing in her presence. He did hope she was a friendly face and not there to kill him for leaving her in that alternate universe, because that would completely ruin his day, two regenerations in one day, and possibly moving him to his final regeneration, that would be very saddening indeed, depressing even.
Shaking those thoughts away, he once again fidgeted with the bowtie that was still around his neck. It really was annoying; a fez would be more comfortable than the darn bowtie, why did Amy destroy the fez without the bowtie? He would never understand this, but he figured it was for the best, for Amy did not destroy the fez, he would be wearing both, and that would be ridiculous looking, especially with his beard and mustache. Speaking of which, “Rose, how do I look with these things on my face?” he questioned, indicating the beard and mustache with one hand, while the other attempted to rip the bowtie from around his neck.
When the bowtie did not budge, he growled, figuring it would likely take both hands and a mirror to take it off, or he could always have Rose do it, but he would wait to see if he could get it off himself, before asking her to help. Besides, while they technically knew each other, they did not know each other in this incarnation all that well, and that made him a little wary of her, and of himself, in a few ways. It was mostly the beard and mustache thing, but there were other things, that he questioned, but he would need a mirror to figure those out, on his own anyway.

Rose Tyler"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself."Rose nodded slightly when the Doctor explained that, with Clara, whoever she might have been, it was only a few weeks. Granted, she was a little saddened that he said that it was much longer if they didn't include her. She wasn't sure how much she could help, but, the last time she had seen him, he had sent her away with a human version of him, a human version of him with what he said was the same thoughts in his head... which meant that he had loved her. It didn't look like it was the case anymore. At least two regenerations since she had seen him.... He'd probably found someone else to fall for, maybe some Time Lord that he could live out the rest of his days with. She supposed that'd be a good thing. He had made a huge point to her that it would have been too painful for him to have her spend the rest of her life with him without him being able to spend the rest of his life with her. Once the Doctor asked her how she got here, she shrugged, holding up her wrist, the wrist with the device on it, and made the motion to take it off. "Well, I don't think it's going to make the return trip... since it sort of melted," she said, still attempting to get it off. "It's a device that the Torchwood in the other Parallel Universe made. I guess it did it's job since I'm talking to you. Still, we didn't coordinate it with the TARDIS or anything. Getting ride outside the door was a bit of a fluke."Deciding the device was a hopeless cause, she put her arm down and looked at the Doctor... who was fidgeting with a bowtie. Honestly, that bowtie, along with the suspenders, was one of the most ridiculous outfits she had ever seen. But once he asked her how he looked with them on his face, she shrugged. "Honestly? It's a little weird, but I'm sure the weirdness will disappear after a while. You don't look that off from your tenth. It'd look pretty good if it wasn't for the bowtie and suspenders."It was right as she was saying that that she heard a clink on the metal floor below her. She looked down and, right under her hand, she saw the device, unbuckled and just lying there. She got up off the console and picked up the device. "That's weird. It was basically melted onto my wrist and the buckle wasn't budging," she said. Had she really missed something? She knew that that wasn't possible. Even if it hadn't started melting to her, it had been on her wrist too tight to fall of, and the buckle had for sure been jammed.

He smiled widely, chuckling a bit when she held up the device on her wrist, which, he noticed looked very similar to the one Jack used, though once she explained that Torchwood had made it, things started to make sense. When she put it down, he continued to look at it for a bit, wondering why it seemed so stuck. If he knew where his Sonic Screwdriver was he would have tried that, but he did not, which meant he would have to locate it at some later point in time. However, as she began to answer his question about his mustache and beard question, which he agreed full, two heartedly with, the thing began to unbuckle or rather the strap slipped from the buckle and fell to the ground, without tearing any of the eyeholes in the strap. What exactly was going on today? First he regenerates, then he finds Rose outside the TARDIS, and now this, he was not sure if he could take much more of it.
He was silent for a few moments, pondering what all had just happened, as well as Eleven’s choice in clothing, before he looked at Rose and smiled. “Well, it certainly is no coincidence you are here, for there are no such things, so it must be fate. The universe telling us that you are meant to be here, either that or I am supposed to fix that thing, but I would much rather go with the previous option, for I am truly tired of being alone,” he said, his smile widening with each word he said to her.
Even though he was glad to see her, there was a strange nagging in the back of his mind that told him that she could only be a companion and that he no longer loved her, at least not as much as he had. This was strange, because, he knew that during his tenth incarnation, he had admitted to loving her, even though he knew he had to trap her in an alternate universe with a human clone of himself, trying to make her happy, without giving her the real thing. Then the nagging voice became all too familiar, making itself known as River Song, his wife. Why had his eleventh incarnation married that blasted woman? Was it because she could regenerate, no, she used the last of her regenerations to save him from dying, so that could not possibly be the case, maybe Eleven just liked women who tried killing him? Either way, he hated that woman, on some level, but he did see the appeal, while all together strange, of marrying his two companions’ daughter. It would mean forever having a link with them, but why did it have to be River? She was bipolar when it came to him and that blasted nickname, did she use it just to irritate him or something? Yes, that had to be the case, but then, why did he let her get away with it; he supposed he would have to think on it a little more when he had the time.
Shaking from his thoughts, he wondered if he should tell Rose about River, but then thought better of it, because there was just something very wrong about telling the first love about the wife, especially when said first love has likely not yet gotten over you. Thus he stuck with something simple, “So, whatever happened to the human version of me, if you do not mind me asking?” Okay, so maybe it was not that simple, but he figured that it was already out, so she could either get angry or upset with him, or actually answer the question.

Rose Tyler"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself."Rose smiled broadly when the Doctor said that he'd rather go with the idea that they she was meant to be with him, in the TARDIS. She preferred to think that was the case anyway. She liked to think that the Doctor would want her back, after all. When the Doctor finally asked her what happened to his human self, John, she sighed. She wasn't sure if she was ready to talk about that bit or not. It was still a hard topic for her to talk about. She took a deep breath, and said, "Well, I suppose the easiest part to say is that I'm not really a Tyler anymore. Your human self took on the name John Smith, and we married three weeks into being there... and then he died a week later." She sighed, she needed to get this out. She hadn't even talked about this experience to the police.... of course, she had been a bit of an anomaly in that universe. "He took me to a jewelry store for my birthday. He couldn't think what to get me, so he decided that I'd make the decision. Just as we were leaving, one thing led to another, and we were in a bit of a hostage situation. In the end, it wasn't a job for a human, whether or not he had your brain," she said. She figured that was enough of an explanation as to what happened. She didn't want to talk about it anymore. Looking around the Control Room, she said, "I'm guessing... two interior changes since I last saw it." That was her way of changing the topic. She wasn't sure how she knew that the TARDIS's interior had changed twice since she had last stepped inside, but she felt fairly certain that she was right.

She had smiled, then deflated when she heard his question about his human self, but before he could tell her, it was all right, that she need not answer it, she began to speak. John Smith? Well, looks like that alias went out the window, at least while he was with Rose, for a little while at least, until the obviously still fresh, and still very much open wounds in her heart healed. They had married, and then his human self had died, that was just plain depressing. He was about to say something to her, to try to comfort her, but she changed subjects, talking about interior changes to the TARDIS. Looking around, as she had, he shrugged, trying to remember how many changes it had gone through, two seemed right but how she knew this he had no idea. “Yes, two, if memory serves, though I must ask, how do you figure?” he asked, looking at her with a tilted head.
There was something about her, something different, but he could not pinpoint what it was. It had nothing to do with her looks, or the way she spoke, but with the way, she held herself, the way she acted. However, he could not figure out what it was that had changed, so he let it drop from his thoughts and a smile came to his face. “Well, it appears that before we go anywhere, I will need to fix her up a bit, make her my own, I suppose. I wish I could do it in different clothes, but then, I would hate to get new clothes dirty in the process of fixing her, so maybe it is for the best,” he said, half to himself and half to Rose, still not used to actually having someone there to talk with. Sure, he had only been without Clara for about three weeks, but those three weeks had been long and depressing, and just made his time before her seem even worse, which made him feel more depressed and disappointed in himself that he could not find a new companion as Amy had wished of him. It had taken a lot to even fight the battle the ultimately ended him up where he was now, in truth, he could not remember where he was, because Eleven had seemed to forget where he was once he entered the battle. Now, to figure out where and when he was, he would have to fix the TARDIS, or go outside and hope to find a newspaper, but if he was not on Earth, though he believed himself to be, he would likely not find one, so sticking to the inside of the TARDIS was likely his best bet.
A small sigh crossed his lips, as he placed a hand on the edge of the console and leaned. He was beginning to think that Rose, while at one time having been better off in the alternate universe, now it was time for her to rejoin him as a companion. He was not sure why this thought crossed his mind, but it did, and he could not help but smile at the thought of Rose being his companion once again. Sure, he was technically a married man, but he never saw his wife, unless she needed something from him, so to have his first love back with him while a possible problem, was likely not going to be one. Besides, he liked Rose as a companion and he knew she would likely stay with him for as long as possible, without the risk of her getting married or having children as previous companions had done. No offense to Amy and Rory of course, but they seemed to have needed him to keep their relationship going for a long while, and then they had the child who would grow into the blasted woman known as River Song, who he would marry. They were really just a huge pain in his arse at times, looking back on it, but he cared for them anyway and that would never change.

Rose Tyler"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself."Rose shrugged when the Doctor asked her how she figured out that it was two times that the TARDIS had changed since she had last seen it. Honestly, she had no idea how she figured it out. "I honestly don't know. Really good guess?" She figured it was simply a good guess on her part. When the Doctor started talking about fixing up the TARDIS, she looked around, primarily at the console. Overall, the console didn't really appear to have much damage... not any that would hinder its flight at all, at any rate. She put her hands to the console, and said, "Overall, it doesn't look like it's in too bad of shape. It looks like, for the most part, it's just the cosmetics that need some work." She looked down to the part where her hands were holding the console, feeling some sort of warmth that had absolutely nothing to do with metal that had been in a fire. Actually, the console itself felt rather cold compared to how she thought it would have felt, having practically just extinguished its fire. But what she saw was way more surprising then when she saw the device fall from her hand. Her hands were glowing... not in the sense that the Doctor's did when he was about to regenerate, but more like what she remembered coming out of the TARDIS with that Slitheen woman looked into the soul and turned her into an egg. She hastily removed her hands from the console, looking at them. After a moment, the glowing yellow light faded, but she was still looking at her hands. She had never seen that happen to her before. It wasn't like she could remember herself when she had taken on the soul of the TARDIS, after all. After a moment, she placed her hand down on the console again, almost as if she was seeing if it was some reaction to the console... for whatever reason. And, sure enough, the hands lit up again. What she wasn't noticing was that the cosmetic issues were slowly fixing itself.

He shrugged at her first answer, because in truth, he really did not know how she could possibly know how many changes the Control Room had gone through. He then smiled and looked around when she said that there were only cosmetic things to do, and she was right, the only real reason he had suggested fixing it before they left was so that nothing broke midflight, because he had dealt with that before, and it was in no way fun.
Looking at Rose, he too noticed the strange yellow glow coming from her hands, it was too pale to be regeneration energy and it flowed the wrong way, but he was not exactly sure what it was that was happening. He thought he had taken the TARDIS powers out of her, so that could not possibly be it, and besides, no living creature could contain the power of a TARDIS, not even a Time Lord. Thus, he threw that idea out with the other brain garbage, such as why he was still wearing the bowtie, which at this point was not the thing to be thinking about. However, one part of it did stick in his head, the color of the glow was consistent with the glow that surrounded Bad Wolf, but he was not sure what that could mean, since she was no longer Bad Wolf and he did not believe in coincidences.
He then proceeded to stare, mouth agape as she removed her hands, the glow fading and the repairs stopping, then replaced one of her hands on the console and the glowing and repairs started up again. “How, what, oh, FISH FINGERS AND CUSTARD!” he yelled in frustration and confusion, and on some level, hunger, but mostly the first two reasons.
He had flailed his arms as he yelled, just barely missing hitting the control panel as he did so. He had also closed his eyes and for a brief moment, he remembered the kiss, the one that had taken Bad Wolf from Rose, and he relished in it, though his eyes opened when he was done yelling and the memory slipped away, just as quickly as it had come, leaving a small frown on his face. It left a sour taste in his mouth, not unlike the poisoned kiss River had placed on Eleven’s lips when they went to kill Hitler.
Shaking off those memories, because really, he did not need them at that point in time, he tried to smile at Rose, but found it hard to look at her, for some unknown reason. It was something in the back of his head that was yelling at him, and once again, the voice belonged to River Song, which just plain pissed him off. “Oh shut up you blasted woman!” he shouted aloud, clasping a hand over his mouth as soon as he had said it. He then began to apologize, “Sorry, not talking to you, promise!” he was not even sure if she had been talking, the voice in his head had been distracting him so much, but the shout did prove affective against the voice, which had promptly shut up as soon as he had yelled.

Rose Tyler"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself."Rose was still completely focused on her hands, wondering why they were glowing at the console. It didn't make any sense. She had yet to notice that cosmetic repairs were occurring and any real maintenance that needed to be done were being taken care of. All that her mind was focusing on was the fact that her hands were glowing. What snapped her out of her thoughts was the fact that the Doctor yelled out 'fish fingers and custard'. It really, really surprised her. Why, of all things to yell, would he pick two random foods that don't go well together? She looked at him, taking her hands off the console, and said, "What?" She was highly amused with what he had yelled, after all. And then, after a few moments, she started growing fairly certain that the Doctor hadn't heard her, that he was somehow focusing purely on whatever it was running through his head. It was a moment or so later that he yelled for someone, who she assumed was her, to shut up. Her eyes widened, but it appeared as if he was just as shocked he had said that. "Mind telling me what woman you were telling to shut up, then?" As far as she was aware, she was the only other person in the TARDIS. This nearly pushed all thought of the glowing hands from her head.

When Rose questioned him, on whom he had been yelling at, he froze, his eyes going wide, and his face paling. ‘Do I tell her? If so, how much do I tell her? Oh, I might as well tell her everything, well not everything, but the basics at least,’ he questioned himself, slowly pulling himself together, the logical parts of his brain finally deciding to turn on fully, which he could have used earlier, before he started shouting about food.
Sighing, he took a deep breath and began, unable to look Rose in the eyes, “You see, I was yelling at the voice of River Song in my head, she is my wife, apparently. You can blame my eleventh incarnation for that one. She is very nagging and keeps calling me Sweetie, which is annoying because why in the Universe would I let someone call me such an annoying pet name? Anyway, her voice, in the back of my head is whom I was yelling at, she keeps trying to be my conscience or something, but she is not helping at all. In truth, the she tried to kill me, multiple times, and then she saved me. I think the woman is bipolar, or just plain mad, and I do not see any real reason why my eleventh self married her. Unless he was crazier than I am, and yes that is I, admitting that I am crazy, though given everything I can remember of him, he was crazier than I am,” he explained, still unable to look Rose in the face. Instead, he focused on his feet, and the fact that the shoes her wore were rather uncomfortable as well.
He was the Doctor, he was a Time Lord, and yet, he could not look a human female in the face because he just admitted that he had married another woman, after claiming to love said human female. Sure, he had left her with a copy of himself, in an alternate universe, so that she would be safe and have some part of him to call her own, but love does not go away just like that, even if he did regenerate. From what he knew of the thing called ‘love’ it was difficult, painful and yet wonderful, and often lasted a very long time, especially for a first love, so why did he move on so quickly? Was it because he knew he had to let her go? Yeah, had to have been, but now she was back, and he had no idea what to do about it, or the feelings that were starting to return to him.
They were confusing feelings; half of him wanted her to be more than just his companion while the other half wanted Rose to be nothing more than a memory, for he was married to River now, and he could not cheat on her. Even if she was a blasted woman who called him ‘Sweetie’, almost crashed the TARDIS, tried killing him more than once, and only showed up when she needed something from him. If he was honest with himself, it really was not a healthy relationship, but it was better than nothing, except Rose was back and throwing a wrench into everything.
