how do ya do that?
Practice mostly. I learned some basic weaves in college and after I got the hang of it I started trying more complex weaves. All you need is a couple pairs of pliers. (Assuming of course you purchase the rings)

Physically, it is generally pretty easy. Though, depending on the pattern and the ring size, sometimes the rings can be hard to link.
Mentally, it depends on the person. If you have good spacial reasoning skills, it will be easier to follow the pattern and spot any mistakes. So if you are good at Jigsaw or other physical puzzles you should have no trouble.
