WantedFaster. Faster, faster, faster. The words raced through her mind like a second instinct. Her feet pushed onward with each step. Faster, faster, faster. The sound of growling and barking coming closer and closer. A memory flashed in her mind as she remembered when the hounds caught her before. Their razor sharp teeth sinking into her flesh, tearing at her muscle as she bled. The scars were still on her body. She stared at the scars each day, tracing them lightly as she remembered the pain. The horrid agonizing pain that made her scream out, that made her beg for mercy or at least a quicker death. Now the pain drove her bare feet. Faster, faster, faster. The thick snow made her feet number and she couldn't feel the pain but every time she looked back the trail of blood was there. Like a trail of bread crubs that led her killers closer. Faster! She clutched at her side that leeked the sweet red ooz, her breathing come it in sharp quick gasps to the point she felt like she wasn't breathing anymore. Faster, faster! She was almost there, she could make it. She had before. Faster! The growling grew louder and soon the shouts of men followed. Almost there...! The last obstacle in her way. A twelve foot brick wall. Easy to climb. On a normal day. Today was far from normal. Her head spun from the lack of blood and oxygen, her feet moving on there own. Faster. Faster, faster. The thought did circles in her mind as the wall came closer and closer. She braced herself and with all her might leaped at it. Her scabbed dirtied fingers fumbled at first but then she began to pull herself up. Faster. Faster. The dogs broke out from the bushes, snarling as the followed the scent of blood. Faster, faster, faster! She scrambled up the wall just as a dog jumped up at her, his mighty jaws clamping around her ankle making her scream out in pain. She glanced down, yanking and struggling to get free. The grip tightened though and she screamed as a sickening snap echoed from her ankle. Her grip was ripped away and she found herself falling and falling and falling into a pile of blood lied snow. She shrieked and screamed as more teeth sank into her. She continued to fall and fall into a pile of red liquid. The sounds of bones crushing and snarls echoing all around her.
The noise from her alarm was obnoxious as it heeled to life. Kat bolted straight up in a panic. Her sheets clinging to her sweaty body as she looked around. No dogs. No blood. Relief flooded through her and she could of cried. She collected herself too quickly for tears though, throwing the sheets off her and climbing from her bed. Another horrific nightmare to add to the chart. Kat peeled off her clothes, standing in front of her full body mirror completely exposed. The bite marks leaving ugly scars in her pale skin up and down. Her fingers traced the bark mark on her shoulder, the sound of her flesh being ripped at she would never forget. With a glance at the clock she cursed. "I'm late!" she hissed and ran around her room, throwing on a fresh pair of clothes, running a brush through her hair. She stopped only to tie her eye patch on, covering the awful gash that laid there. Finally, one eyed and ready she scurried from her tiny house in her small town in the middle of what looked like to most, the middle of no where. It was the perfect place to start over. No one knew her there. It was easy going unseen there and that was exactly what she needed. To vanish. Kat now hurried down the dirt street into the town to her job, one thought only on her mind. A thought that she would never been able to rid herself of. Faster.

But hold me first. 'Cuz I'm a hopeless wanderer.
And I will learn to love, the skies I'm under

√BEEP‼√BEEP‼

The animatronic keen of an alarm tore Eli from his slumber, the softest of curses stumbling from sleep laden lips as a single arm worked its way out from beneath the protective warmth of silky sheets to silence the blasted contraption with rough smack. Grumbling with more than a hint of frustration the male forced himself upright. It was easy to see he wasn't much of a morning person, but that didn't seem to simply cover this morning's frustration. Yes he was upset with the matter that he had to get up, but there was something else. The fair haired male felt... strange... anxious. Like he'd been dreaming, a strange occurance, at least for him, which all the more intrigued and frustrated him ,for, as he he attempted to recall every remaining fragment just seemed to slip away back into his unconscious mind, only flashes of white and that residual feeling of anxiousness remaining. Hoisting himself up from the mattress Elias miraculously stumbled through the morning routine, showering, dressing, forgetting to eat and so on, and as his day ticked slowly and slowly further away from his time of waking his stomach still churned, twisting this way and that like silly putty in a child's hands as if to forewarn of the days events. It seemed to guarantee this day would be far from normal. "But how", he pondered aloud, he doubted anything interesting could happen in this small community he found himself. It was the middle of nowhere, a place for "A good, new start" many had told him and he foolishly believed. "A good start" he echoed humorlessly, letting the thought bound around his head once more "Bah" he finally scoffed, he still felt like he was waiting for that start.
Alas, all those thoughts working restlessly through his mind would have to wait for another time when he wasn't quite so rushed to find the answer, now was time to go. Heaving one last sigh he left the small place he now called home, passing countless overturned pictures on his way, escaping the lonely house more.

WantedBlue eyes checked the clock frequently as if she could make it go anyway faster with her mind. That word seemed to be all over the place today. Faster. She hated the word and the memories that accompanied it. Her fingers clutched the broom in her hands as she stood like a statue, staring down the hands on the clock above the door. She worked in a small shop owned by a lady who was too nice for her own good. She had taken Kat in when she first arrived at the town, torn up and without a place to go, she was the only one other than Kat herself who had seem the scars on her body that haunted her every second of every minute of every day. When she had finally gotten herself up on her feet she moved out and to satisfy the woman, she took a job working at the small shop that sold antiques, nicknacks, and children toys of all sorts. She came in every day to clean the place from head to toe, but now she was much too absorbed into herself to even finish sweeping the wooden floors. Her nightmare refused to vanish, sticking to her mind instead of slipping back into her subconscious where it waited for her to fall back asleep. It made her anxious, shifting none stop, looking over her shoulder as the flashbacks hit her one after another. The trail of blood. The snarling. The snapping of her bones and ripping of flesh.
A small frail hand fell on her shoulder. Kat gasped, jumping back as she whirled around. "Calm down, child." the woman said, concern in her wise eyes. "Somethings troubling you." It wasn't a question, she could see clearly something was wrong. Which made the female hesitate, she felt comfortable around the older woman, like she could trust her. The woman, who had no husband and raised a son who died at an early age, accepted people as they came otherwise she would of never taken Kat in. She would of questioned the scars on her body, forced answers from her. But she hadn't. Which made the female feel guilty, like she owed her for her kindness and patience. "I... I didn't sleep well last night, is all." she answered quietly, ducking her head in what felt like shame. The broom was abruptly taken from her hands before she finished her sentence.
"You're in no shape to work, go home. Rest. Relax. I'll finish up on my own, I'm not all that old you know." She smiled, brushing a stray lock of hair from Kat's eyes.
"But, Mrs.-" A finger was placed over her lips, silencing her.
"Enough. You're going home, no if ands or buts about it." Her voice was stern but still kind. "You are much to young to be troubled by whatever is troubling you, my dear. Now go home and solve whatever it is and don't come back until your head is clear and capable." She gave her a gentle push towards the door. "By the way, stop call my Mrs. I'm no more of a Mrs then you are. Call me Rose." Now, she was turned away from her as she began to sweep the floors.
Kat hesitated for a moment, unsure, it didn't feel right leaving. But she knew she wouldn't be much help in her state of mind. With a small ounce of reluctance she untied her hair from it's pony tail, letting it fall on her shoulders as she marched out the door. Once out on the street, she walked. But she was restless and soon her steps became quicker till she broke out into full out sprint with no destination in mind but away.

He should have been at work, it was plain and simple, black and white, he should have been there... but he wasn't. Here he had gone through the motions of his monotonous life, the same things he did almost every day and enjoyed so much not to do, struggling to wake at some ungodly hour, going through the motions, getting ready so he looked 'presentable' knowing all too well he would only be handed some back handed compliment regarding the spade tattoo bellow his left eye, a constant reminder of what he didn't know... He did all of that expecting to wait on or bus tables, or take inventory at the small diner he worked, knowing full well his wage was a little larger out of pity, knowing all too well he should have worked twice as hard for what the old couple paid him, and what had he done? He phoned in sick from the parking lot like a coward, finding himself completely unable to face whatever work would throw his way today. So he drove, not knowing where he was going, when he would stop, and that anxiety gave way ever so slightly.
His knuckled turned white, gripping the steering wheel with all his might as the poor excuse for a truck rattled on down the road. In all honesty it looked like a rust mobile, like it very well may disintegrate under the pressure of a stiff wind, but looks weren't what they seemed. Sturdy. That about summed up the poor excuse of a car, old an weathered it was but there was no doubt in Eli's mind that if this thing hit another car or a tree he would be rolling away untouched.
Piercing blue eyes met his gaze in the rear view mirror, striking, and in moments like this, intimidating even to himself. His grip faltering a moment on the wheel, sending him veering towards the curb if only for a second before he forced his vision back to the road a suddenly he wondered what he was doing, skipping out on work, no longer just the guilt in doing so, but wondering what had him so spooked, why a dream he couldn't recall had him running, his vision faltered from the road once more.

WantedHer feet pounded against the ground as she ran, faster and faster. She ached to slow down, to walk or at this rate collapse right in the middle of the tiny town. But her body refused to give her away such rest, pushing forward in panic. Her eyes searched, for what she wasn't sure. She never was. The day was lovely though, all around her it was just another normal spring day. People went along with their normal routes, nothing ot of the ordinary. It was her that was out of place, running down the street like she was lost. Unable to bear the scenery around her she looked down.
When she glanced at the ground she nearly fell flat on her face in fear as the normal side walk suddenly became covered in mountains of white snow. As quick as it was there it was gone. Her feet faltered now and she went skidding straight into a man walking in her direction. She lost her balance and before she or the man could check her she tripped on the curb falling half way into the road just a truck veered in her direction. Kat's body froze in place, her feet lost their need to move and though her instinct was to run her body went dead on her. Even as people shouted and the man raced to help her, she stared, her navy blue eyes wide like a deer in headlights, as the truck came straight towards her.

What was it? What could it have been? Why? Elias' mind raced with countless questions all along the same lines in some desperate need to know in that exact moment what he was missing out on consciously. He hadn't realized how stupid he had been, how he had faltered from his path on the road and fate took a cruel turn until the faint yelling of pedestrians pulled him from his mind to face the reality at hand. Time seemed to slow as adrenaline searing its path through his veins the instant he realized someone was in the way of the collision course. Instincts told him to break or to swerve, something even in the far confines of his mind thinking as if it were a deer and to speed up, but in the end thoughts didn't matter, and it all just fell into place. The wheel turned sharply, knuckles loosing all color as he held on for his life, tires squealed against asphalt as he corrected quickly, over correcting a little causing the beast of a vehicle to pop up onto two wheels before he corrected once more, the breaks screaming in utter protest under the pressure. As if once more at fates hand the rust bucket finally came to a halt almost pleasantly against the curb but a few yards from the potential accident. The surge of adrenaline searing its way still through his veins made it all the more difficult for Elias to pull himself from the cab, releasing his death grip on the wheel finally letting the blood rush back to his knuckles and fingers with each painful pulse, setting the parking brake with an uneasy grasp and finally managing to unlock his knee to release the foot brake. Holding to the door for dear life the angry rantings of passers by fell on deaf ears as he tried to process what had happened, finally looking back to woman well behind the car and he called over the rantings sent his way "You okay?" It was foolish even in his shaken state, but that was about all he could work out while his brain continued screaming explicatives.

WantedEverything happened sp fast. Or maybe it was slow. Either way, none of it fully comprehended in her thoughts. The car was coming towards her, head on and then suddenly it wasn't. Breaks squeeled and wheels turned and she thoght the car had tipped over. Suddenly passerbys came running over, shouting in all directions, a few kneeling down beside her asking if she were okay. That was when things slowed down on her. She peered up and around her, eyes still wide but strangely blank. People were everywhere, around her and near the truck. The truck was feet away from her now. How had that happened? How was she still alive? Kat stared at the driver though as he stumbled out, and even in her jumbled state of mind one thought came across crystal clear. He looked way too good to be driving something as beat up as that truck. After that though she sort of stared at him almost memorizes by him. Then everything snapped back into focus when she heard his voice. Was he talking to her? He had to be right? Even over the calm question and rude rants his voice came out clear to her. She nodded slowly, disoriented. "I'm okay." she answered quietly, trying to force herself on her feet, despite the fact that people told her to sit. Her legs felt like jello, unable to support her body her knees buckled and she came crashing back down, catching herself on her hands that she suddenly realized was shaking uncontrollably. Which seemed odd to her, despite the resent events. Maybe she was going into shock or something.

He could vaguely take note of the females response, her words like the others falling upon temporarily deaf ears so he found himself relieved to see even the slightest of nods. The adrenaline drained from his system almost as quickly as it had surfaced and Elias was dreading the after affects as suddenly his limbs felt heavy and suddenly the dull roar of bickering somewhere far off to his ears grew closer, louder, clearer. Yelling, lots of it directed at him, only one or two out of concern for his well being, most of the words filling his ears stupidly telling him to watch where he was going, like he didn't already know that after the fact, others demanding to know if he was drunk and insisting upon him trying to walk a curb. Idiots. He wasn't planning on saying anything until the bodies around began crowding closer, an undulating wall closing in, trapping him against the side of his truck, still he held his tongue. Slow even breaths, that was what he was focused on, but being caged in sure as hell didn't help. Silently elbowing his way through the small group he took a breath "Not drunk. I'll live" he said to answer the general mass of questions sent his way, noticing the girl, still back behind the car in the street while other floundered around her as she fell back. The surge of guilt and the new anxiety seemed to drown out his old worries as he watched her struggle before he finally walked over, a little doe legged himself before holding a hand out to her. "How about we get you out of the street?" he said, probably not the best way to phrase his words but it got the message across, still holding his tongue as he wondered how long the crowd would have gone before someone helped her up. Bright turquoise eyes focused in on the woman, as he forced away a jumbled thought branching off of his relief that he had not hit her only to head down another route. It was then he suddenly realize she was shaking, and his heart sank as the guilt in his chest seemed to sudden function on some greater gravity. "I'm so sorry" Another stupid thing to say as it was painfully obvious, regardless he still said it.

WantedShe needed to get up. To stand and show everyone she was fine. Just a little shaken up. It was hard to move though with her body shaking violently and the fact that she felt completely weak. She heard as the people around her argued whether or not she should sit there and rest or stand up and walk around a bit to let her blood flow. But she didn't listen to them, didn't really care what they had to say. Her mind was beginning to clear some and she started to think clearly. Now she wanted to run again to just leave. But her body hadn't caught up with her mind yet. Kat was ready to try and force herself up again when a hand was extended towards her and she looked up to him the eyes of the male who nearly ran over her. It felt odd. The fact that he was suddenly helping her when he nearly turned her into road kill seconds ago. But at least he seemed concerned. Anyone else would of driven off probably. Her hand, unstandy and shaking, reached up to take his. She sat there though, staring at him as he apologized. His words throwing her off guard. Finally, with what little strength she could muster up she forced herself up, only to nearly fall down again. Her hand reached out, gripping into his shirt as she leaned into him for support, taking uneven breaths as she waited for her body to calm down. Another thought crossed her mind as she stood there, leaning against him slightly, her hand still griping his. He had to be the first male she had touched in nearly seven months. The only person she let come near her had been Rose and that was mostly because the middle-aged woman didn't take no for an answer. Kat pushed away from hin now, feeling steady again. A woman near her had a phone pulled ready, saying she was calling the police. Kat shook her head. "No. I'm fine." she said softly, weakly. "I'll be fine." she repeated stronger now as if to prove her point.

ʗɾɑρ...
His brow furrowed slightly as she just sat there after taking his hand, he was planning to help her up but he was in no state to pull her up... or was it just odd for him to be the one helping? For ******** sake no one else was. She hadn't been hit, there was no reason to leave her where she fell and it certainly wasn't a good idea since lord when more on coming traffic would arise... or was it his apology? Yeah, that was probubly a weird one, but there was no reason to look at him like he'd grown another head, it wasn't like he work up today and made a plan to run someone down. Regardless, soon enough she was up, though teetering, nearly falling once more. His grip on her hand tightened, not wanting to let her fall again, only to wind up supporting the doe legged woman as she tried to regain her footing. He felt slightly uncomfortable being such a strong supporter of personal space, ignoring the small voice in the far confines of his mind telling him she was pretty, like he didn't already know, though that predicament only lasted a few moments aas she suddenly pushed away from him, and he couldn't blame her, he wouldn't exactly be looking to someone who could have killed him. However, he froze as a woman stated she was calling the cops. Nononono no. It was strange, his sudden need to run was back, to get away. Suddenly he was craving those similar days of his, anything but the cops.

WantedThe woman hesitated her eyes mostly on the male, her finger hovering over the nine on her phone. Kat refused to let the police come, there was no point anyway. She wasn't going to press charges or anything. She just wanted it to be over with, her feet aching to go away again not that she gained some control over her body. Though she knew she probably shouldn't be running anywhere yet. "Don't. Its fine." she said again, and after a long pause the woman put her phone away. Relief rushed over her and she let out a small sigh. The crowd slowly started to disappear too, since no police were coming and all the action gone people seemed relieved but also bored with the whole situation. Kat glanced back up at the male, only to realize she still gripped onto his hand and she yanked away, embarrassed. "Thank you." The words flew out on there own and were completely out of place given the fact he almost flattened her. "For, um not running me over and helping me up and um, uh... is that your real hair color?" She peered up at his hair, as if she could figure out whether or not it was dyed. When it sunk in at how scattered brain she was acting she could of kicked herself. Her thoughts were scrambled around still, she was obviously in no shape to be communicating yet and despite how her feet ached the rest of what just wanted to crawl back into bed and sleep for the rest of the week until the whole incident blew over. "I'm sorry. Um, I think I should ne going..." she muttered, taking a step away, preparing to run off again.

What to do, what to do, what to do... His mind was racing, somewhere between plotting a quick escape and talking himself out of this madness, he'd even pondered taking the girl with the phone down, but it was quickly shot down knowing well enough another would step up to the plate to call the cops, but most of all the inquiries nagging in the silverette's mind where centered around why the mere mention of police set him so on edge. It was more than just the fear of going to jail. Hearing the woman chime in, telling the other female not to bother he let out the breath he hadn't realized he was holding. The fact that she still held onto his hand hadn't passed Elias' notice but he couldn't tell if she had simply not noticed or was using him as an anchor, more likely it seemed to be the first one judging from the way she pulled her hand from his. The normal reaction to her thanks probably would have been stunned, but he only blinked "Your welcome for not wanting to kill someone?" he asked, cocking his head to the side a fraction, unsure once more if he phrased that right, but not quite caring enough to think too much upon the matter. When it came to the sudden mention of his hair color he couldn't help but chuckle, pleased to see she at least wasn't so focused upon the previous near death experience. "Well I don't dye my eyebrows." he answered vaguely knowing very well how his eyebrow fell in the territory more blond than his scalp, but close enough to the color of his hair to leave one guessing. Still something sparked up in him at the mention of her leaving, some red flag raising. "Are you sure you're good?" asked, not sure how good of an idea it would be for her to be up and moving around so soon "Where you going? I'll give you a lift." only to blink a moment later when he realized what he just offered, getting the person he almost hit in his car, that mustn't have seemed safe "Stupid me... But the offer still stands, I won't bother to defend my driving but I think my ability to avoid things at the very least has been proven." He rattled on and on, which roughly translated in his own way to something stuck between his guilty conscience trying to be helpful and his worry that she might just fall over in the middle of nowhere in sudden shock and maybe even finding direction to his mindless, senseless running.
