Hey guys! I've noticed things have kind of slowed down here. I haven't put this up on the front page because I thought it would be good just to DISCUSS things first. I know Wolfie has been doing a great job trying to keep this place going and all of you guys are a great help as well! I know that I am sorry for not being around as much as I would have liked over these past few months but stuff happens. I know things happen in y'allses life too which is why we slowly dwindle. So I know we have these things a lot where we ask for your input but the crew, myself included, want this place to be the best it can be!
So... here's an list of things I would like to know if we should do or do things for. (List will grow as ideas are brought up) gaia_star bi-monthly announcement newsletter
gaia_spoons
gaia_star more aekean get-togethers?combine them with gaia-events to help get more members/ bring older members back? gaia_starmore events? holidays/non holidays gaia_star should we do more with birthdays? stalk profiles if they haven't posted in the birthday corner? gaia_star (more to come?)

I know I've brought it up before but I think consolidating the forums and moving discussion back to the main forum would really help ensure that people aren't scared away by the huge stack of mostly empty sub-forums.
Beyond that, spread the word, talk to friends you know who are in this guild but aren't active anymore. I mean, everyone I know who is in this guild is active, but hopefully some of us can bring in people who aren't active at the moment.

Newsletter. 3nodding Sounds funsies. I'd love more events with guildies, cuz they always turn out fun regardless of how many people show up. The only thing I wonder about it how to get inactive people to pop back in without going around and poking all of them or something. xd I'm bad at organizing and initiating conversation.

sorry it took so long for me to reply. my new years resolution was to be a better online person..... and not disappear as much but it seems that I still have a problem with that.... sweatdrop
Anywho I'm thinking the "poking people" idea would be through the newsletters which would come out as an announcement to sort of remind people that we are still here... and that way as well we could advertise new events, birthdays, things like that.

I haven't been online much because this semester is so intense, with 18 hours of class, work, and Hapkido practice thrice a week. sweatdrop That and the charity I own here on Gaia, which has sadly also been suffering some neglect. emo
Speaking of Gaia events, this goes without saying, but I think a very important function of the guild members will be to make Aekea as awesome in the next event as it was in the last one. That is to say, there will be new allies and new rivals, and keeping up the credo of the Aekean code of sportsmanship will be even more important than crushing the competition (though there should be plenty of that as well. ;P)
Therefore, if we anticipate that there will be a summer event, we need to be prepared to advertise the guild within the Aekea event forums and get it polished up nice for an upswell of newcomers. 3nodding

I think focusing on maintaining a presence at other Gaia events will definitely help. Bolster up that team spirit.

I'll try to check the guild whenever I am actually on Gaia, even if those times are less now. I think I'm taking classes this summer, too. sad But, the thought of another event with the different towns is still really exciting. >w<
The problem with consolidating the forums is that they would have to be renamed/repurposed? And I don't know if you can delete them, so the unused ones would have to say "empty forum" or something. I suppose the discussion-based ones could go together, and then maybe the advertising-ish ones together, and contest-ish ones together? Or something like that.

I wanted to make a comment on the Gearheads Newsletter. First off, I really liked it! I also think bi-monthly is good. My only suggestion in addition to that is, if it is only bi-monthly, would it be alright to do a guild announcement whenever one comes out? I think that would be a good way to keep people up-to-date on goings-on here.
I did like the Newsletter too. 3nodding Bi-monthly sounds good, and as far as I know it seems to have a good amount of content (that I couldn't think of anything to add). And an announcement for each one does sound good too in order to bring it to the attention of members who don't check the guild regularly. heart
