Sal was an orphan found in the Shoal Cave north of Mossdeep. It's assumed that one or both of his parents had an accident within its depths, but at this point he doesn't really care. He was adopted by a couple who worked at the Space Center and grew up around botanists and astronomers alike. It... had him going into the fields of science at an early age.
He decided to work at the Northern Johto Academy as he works on applying to apprenticeships into a Professor's program. His area of focus is space studies - he wants to one day try and find ways to grow plants in space. Space stations, and what not!

I was just... kinda legitly scared, because I was pretty sure I knew all my pokemon through Gen III.
I'll post an intro sometime tomorrow. Christmas dinner plus a drive home tonight is in the forecast which means little time to type.
