Ren is calm and gentle, especially to women and children. He's proper, well-mannered, but gets intrigued at certain things such as squeaky sounds, sudden moving things, and can't help but rob the table of meat when there is some. Ren can be distant at times. He has an accent that is faint, but the place is hard to distinguish. His accent is similar to old Roman.

As a child, he killed a dog that belonged to a witch. He showed no sorrow for his crime, so the witch cast a spell on him. She sacrificed her youth to summon a zodiac totem spirit to awaken in his soul. After the witch's death, Ren turned into a dog for the first time. Knowing that he would be murdered if the townspeople found out, Ren's family kept it a secret. As time went on, the family died of diseases and the reign of a ruthless ruler. Even so, Ren failed to age any further. He got sick, but no matter how bad it was he wouldn't die, and the diseases would fade away over time. One day he was sent to execution, after the death of his entire family and he was deemed a monstrosity. He hung from the gallows for days, but though his neck was broken, he wouldn't die. The rope snapped over time and he was still alive. He was then exiled and hunted, but no matter what nothing would kill him. At last, wracked with immense sorrow and fear, he cut himself into pieces until he couldn't move or cut anything anymore. Still, his soul kept to the pieces.
Over time, there was a man that came and, since he was still alive, he was able to heal the body little by little, taking almost a year to re-construct the body and Ren awoke, still alive.
He follows Jeremy like a loyal friend, two immortal outcasts lost in a land where they are hunted. They came to this academy from the previous one in search of some information about magic from other worlds.
