or while surfing out at sea it should be seen as a message that out of all the trainers in the world you
are the one they sought out to battle. The decision of whether or not to capture them is up to you,
but never forget that you were the one specially chosen for them to reveal themselves to.

Tonight I added a shiny Gigalith to my collection. I was taking a break from White Version 2 for several weeks and decided to start playing again when, while exploring Seaside Cave to advance the plot, I happened upon a shiny Boldore. I've often thought that it would be cool to have a shiny Gigalith and now I've got one. The nature isn't ideal, boosting special defense at the cost of attack, but I'm sure I'll be able to figure something out for her. And she looks freaking awesome. She was also the only shiny that didn't freak me out with trying to capture it because every in-game Boldore has the Sturdy ability which made her an easy one to catch.

I finally cleared the White Treehollow and earned my shiny Dratini from White Version 2 so now I've added a shiny Dragonite to my collection.

So, the Shiny Charm finally seems to be pulling its weight in my copy of Black 2 as I was able to hatch a shiny Zangoose (nicknamed Zelkova) without too much difficulty. Then, while I was out training a Sceptile to experiment with I had an encounter with a shiny Solrock. Not a pokemon I'm especially fond of, but I still caught it even though I totally forgot those guys are made out of explodium so I was fairly lucky on that account. I'm thinking I might offer it up as trading fodder possibly in exchange for a shiny pokemon I actually like, but that idea is still pending.

Anyway, right now I'm breeding for a shiny Gastly so we'll see how that goes.

So, this past week I've successfully hatched a shiny Charmander on Black 2 that I'll be giving to Jared once the Pokemon Bank and Poke Transfer are released and he gets his own copy of Pokemon X.

And tonight I succeeded at hatching a shiny Dedenne in Pokemon X after very nearly giving up on the prospect and re-focusing my breeding efforts on producing offspring with higher IV's so I'd at least have a decent one to train, but then I got lucky. For the record, Dedenne is possibly one of the cutest pokemon to date and its behavior in Pokemon Amie only serves to make it even more adorable.

So, yesterday while I was finally giving some attention to Pokemon Y I encountered my first ever duplicate wild encounter shiny, a shiny Onix. This one is female with a Timid nature and the ability Rock Head. I already offered it to Blaze so I will be trading it over to him just as soon as we coordinate a time to both be playing at the same time.

So, after deciding to IV breed a Noibat to finally raise into Noivern, I'm in the middle of doing some training to gain some levels to evolve it and what do I run into, but a shiny Lairon. Naturally, this means I'll have to get back to work on actually beating Pokemon Y so I can go around to collect those Mega Stones so I'll be able to utilize Mega Aggron once I get around to training it. Funny how that works out.

Another honorable mention goes to yet another shiny Lotad that materialized in the Pokemon Blaze Black 2 Rom Hack I've been playing on the side.

So, I'm working on training a Lanturn to partner with a Jolteon in double battles in the Battle Maison for my infamous Volt Absorb + Discharge combo strategy that I'm bringing back from my exploits in the Battle Frontier in Platinum when I summon a horde of Whismur using my trusty Mawile's Sweet Scent for some EV training in HP and one of the cute little critters decides to sparkle at me. So, naturally, being me, I made it a point to capture the shiny little Whismur making it my first shiny to be captured in a horde encounter.

This has to be the greatest case of irony yet. Yesterday, while training a shiny Golem I managed to snag off the GTS a few days ago (the poor thing was probably rejected several times because she doesn't have an ideal nature or particularly good IV's since she's a German Golem and the GTS listing was from Hokkaido of all places) I naturally ran into a shiny Geodude in a horde encounter while training that very same shiny Golem. I mean, that's got to be some kind of record.

So, I've managed to add a few new shiny pokemon to my collection via a few trades and a recent capture. Firstly, I now have a shiny Slugma, a pokemon I was skeptical of at first, but it quickly grew on me with that impressive metallic silver coloration. Next up is a shiny Dusclops I encountered in a Friend Safari that quickly became a Dusknoir that is showing a great deal of promise. Lastly, I have come into possession of a shiny Umbreon, via evolution from a shiny Eevee that I received in a trade. It is very probably hacked as it was at level 4, from Unova, and in a Premier Ball, which taken altogether is rather impossible, but everything else checks out so I'm not going to complain about it. It's not like it has outlandish stats or anything to make me feel uneasy about wanting to actually train it.

So yeah, those are the newest additions to my shiny pokemon collection. It's certainly been quite a busy week.

So, in the final stretch leading up to the release of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire I finally succeeded at hatching myself a shiny Hawlucha. Then, after getting my hands on Omega Ruby and making very little headway through the story on account of becoming thoroughly distracted with the workings of the new DexNav feature I spent several days just farming Surskit to increase my search level trying to get one with good IV's, Hydro Pump, and a Modest or Timid nature. (This admittedly could have been made easier by first acquiring a Synchronize Ralts with either of those natures, but as I've mentioned before when it comes to pokemon, I tend be a bit of a masochist and try to do these sort of things the hard way.) And wouldn't you know, during my last round of chaining (I was at a streak of 70+), the game demonstrated it's amazingly twisted sense of ironic humor by tossing a shiny at me. A shiny, I might add, with a Naughty nature along with the move Fell Stinger.

Oh, and for the record, my whole reason for wanting to add a Surskit to my team is because I wanted something I like that can use Flash since I know there are some dark caves in the Hoenn Region. (See, I wasn't kidding about that tendency toward being slightly masochistic when it comes to Pokemon.)
