This small world has lived in a dark shadow for many years, its plants and wildlife having to adapt to the darkness and therefore become horrific creatures. The world is falling apart, looking more like an island than planet, Arda en Galad, The World of Light, has become a deteriorated mess since the disappearance of their queen and protector.
The castle, standing in the middle of this planet-turned-island, was chipping and the walls were broken. The bright white of the palace walls looked a dark gray in the everlasting darkness and the inside was overgrown by the plant life and it only was home to the creatures created by the darkness, now.
A seemingly young woman walked through the rusted and worn gate of the castle. She had a cloak that looked the same gray as the castle walls, blending in with the background, nicely. This mysterious female gave an aura of command as she walked the empty halls of the palace, an aura that kept the creatures at bay as she looked for something particular inside the palace.

Ranmyaku was leaning on the far side of the hallway. He recognized her presence. He wore casual clothing of his time. Baggy jeans, a black thick hoodie and some red running shoes. He stopped leaning and paid attention to her. It was like her presence made him feel like he needed to be doing something. he didn't speak a word to her. Just watched her walk by him.

Hobbling along, not far behind the young female, is a hunched man in a thick, dark black cloak. He breathes slightly haggardly, but he manages to keep the pace with his company. A staff is clutched in his thin, knotted hands, tapping on the ground, and swatting at any creature that dared venture a little to close for his comfort. The grizzled old man never spoke to the lady he followed, yet he kept his eyes upon her.
Beneath the hood, a pair of familiar, deep-grey eyes stares out, giving everything a critical stare, measuring each diluted, familiar sight with painstaking care. He eyes doors he had once admired for their beauty, and the infirmary he remembered so clearly. He grunted as he realized he had slowed down for a moment, glancing forward to look for the young lady he followed.
(Just a note, Michael's about in his seventies, now, I'll have an exact number eventually.)

The young woman stopped suddenly, feeling multiple presences around her, none of which she took the time to recognize. Her determination thwarted her ability to think straight, especially when she thought this world had been abandoned and no one lived in the area anymore. She was quick to consider the dangers this world held now and decided it was best to not look back and protect herself. "Wind, heed my call and block my path," she said the blessing to the wind very softly, so softly only those who were very close to her or had fox-like hearing would hear her words. She started walking again, but this time the wind she called forth created a barrier in the hallway, but it was obviously a weak barrier, making the commanding aura the woman held seem like it shouldn't belong to such a weak woman. Her steps quickened as she walked towards her destination: the grand library of the castle.

Ranmyaku just stood quiet. Glancing at her unique magic ability. He didn't copy it though, it would be similar to treason and he has enough blood on his hands. He just stood with the small crowd of people who watched the two enter. Then when she had left, it seemed that they had taken new purposes and started there duties. Ranmyaku didn't have a duty except for as a guardian of sorts. Though he moved at his own pace. He was one of the best however, and his pace was what most of the time was the right amount.

The old man, close enough to catch little snippets of the little spell she had put forth, and he shrugged, tapping against the barrier with his gnarled staff gently, then going to go vacate a spot of its evil, and plop right down on his arse. A light, clinking noise ensues as he does, revealing that he's either rich, or armed, he hoped he didn't have to prove either one, as he happens to be a bit of both.
He sighs a bit, smiling as he fidgets and adjusts to his new position, waiting for his companion to come out of her little reclusive hideaway. He tosses back his hood slowly, revealing his aged, withered visage. His blonde hair gone to silver, once full, now a bit wispy, and his eyes sunken a bit, but he still looks like his old self: Good old Michael Fangdon, still adoring Katherine greatly and following her where he can.
[Edit]: (( Hate when I spell Michael's name wrong. ))

Ranmyaku smirked when he saw micheal. He hadn't seen him since what would be considered to him a long time. He chuckled as he walked over to Micheal, leaning on a nearby pillar that was close enough to micheal. "So you follow her around all the time? Or is it your job?"

As the cloaked woman entered the library, she was very pleased to see the wards had held in place and the library was untouched age, darkness or overgrowth; it was exactly as she had last left it. Pulling out some spell books, the cloaked woman quickly left the library, having come for what she was seeking, she didn't plan on spending much longer in this darkness. She knew it was not good for her.
Upon walking back the way she came, the wind barrier was dispelled and the woman happened upon the elderly man and the younger-looking man. Stopping in her tracks, she looked at them both, not completely recognizing either of them as she looked down at the sitting man. Her cloak was still pulled around her, shielding her physical identity but it didn't hide the aura that she gave off, still commanding, yet pure. When she spoke to the men her voice was similar to that of her aura, it rang clear and soft, but had a commanding tone behind it. "Who are you? I thought this world had been abandoned."

Ranmyaku stood up. "Sorry lady, but even when the darkness claims this land. Me and the guardians here will be the flicker of light that stands out." he brushed off his arms and brushed his hair back. "And besides, I need my way of redemption. Keeping this place, and anyone in it safe is my way of getting it." He gave her a gentle smile knowing who she was, but not saying a word about it. Giving her a reassuring wink. "Still holding the fort for our queen's return."

The woman looked at the direction of the man's voice, saying nothing for a long moment. "You still believe in your queen? Despite the ruins the world has come to due to her selfish reasons; you still do not give up on her?" She asked the questions but didn't really expect any answer. A small smile was seen on her lips as she looked up at the sky, letting her hood fall back to reveal the pale yellow, long hair that framed her heart shaped face. The face was completely the same from the last time anyone had seen her. Everything but her eyes, as she turned to look back at the two men, were completely black. Nothing showed through them, they were just two black holes.

The old man rises with a little, muffled grunt, and, once there, he gives a courtly, though shaky, bow to her, "My Lady, allow me to interject here, if I may. He remained because he believed it was his duty to protect the land as much as he could in your absence. I, myself, remained not because I can protect the land until your return, but because I care enough to be able to help you once you are here." He frowns at the sight of her eyes, though.
He hobbles a bit closer to her, looking up at the now-taller woman, "What have you done, Katherine? Why do you not recognize your love? What have you done to taint your sight so?"

The now- revealed Katherine took a step back as the elderly man came closer to her. She listened to him for a moment, her face devoid of emotion without her expressive eyes. When he finished speaking, an aura of anger surrounded her. "You call yourself my love?! How dare you. I can sense your presence and only sense a man that is closer to death then life. You cannot be any love of mine." Her voice sounded more cold than angry but the small fists balled up at her sides, showed the anger that her aura portrayed.
Her jaw was set as she turned towards the other man, the one who called himself a guardian before speaking again, "My eyesight is gone. Temporarily, at least, it shall return. I was searching for my eldest son in the darkness with a spell, but with this world weak, I am weak as well and it caused my spell to backfire and darkness overtook my eyesight. I now rely entirely on my spiritual sensing. It's not the easiest thing to do, but I get around enough. By hiding my identity I don't get into too many blind battles," as she talked, she started to relax, feeling nice to be in the presence of a man she had entrusted her kingdom to. She knew she could trust him while she was blind, which calmed her. When Katherine spoke again, it was in a soft, tired voice, "It is good to find someone I can trust in this darkness. My daughter has taken my youngest to hide in my sister's kingdom. Though Andrea may be the daughter of darkness, she has a good heart for her family and will keep them safe in her palace. But without them I have been alone in this perpetual darkness."

Ranmyaku nodded. The first time anyone has ever told him he had done a good job. "You know that we will always stand by you. Even in the face of death, I know I will come to your aid." He didn't have much other to say to her. Even though he should have been doing something, he knew that he was doing everything by being there. The guardians had already left and he was the only one on guard duty. "You can count on me."

Michael watches her, eyes and expression filled with sadness for having gone unrecognized in her eyes, "My Lady.. It.. It is I.. It is your Michael.." He clenches at his staff for a moment, choosing his next words carefully, deciding to use an example of something they had discussed before:
"My Lady.. When last we spoke.. We had spoken of searching for the Fountain. The Fountain of Youth. Not long after.. This calamity happened, and I became trapped here, when I could not summon the strength to return home.." He sighs, "And as such.. I have waited.. Years I have done so.. I am still the old me, simply aged.."

"I thank you greatly, my guardian," Katherine said with a small smile. When she heard the elderly man claiming to be Michael, however, she turned to the sound of his voice, her mouth in a small 'o' shape as she took this information in with confusion.
"You claim to be Michael... If this is true, tell me one thing that only he could know. Something before I came to Arda En Galad, just something to prove your claim," she took a shakey breath, and it was obvious that she was thinking of Michael from before she left. After a moment she spoke again, very softly, but with a commanding tone that only a queen could hold, "But, if I find that you are lying to me, you will be banished for treason to the darkest forests."
