_________APPEARANCE ▪▫ Long, dark brown hair usually tied into two pigtails with red ribbons, and brown eyes, Yukari is a girl of both Asian and European descent, though her Asian qualities mostly override that of the latter. Having spent many summers in Europe, Yukari's skin is slightly tanned and is not as pale as that of other Japanese people. Regardless, Yukari's physical characteristics are not anything special, and like anyone else, she is simply average. She is slightly taller than her age, due to her mixed heritage and somewhat lean, though not to the point where she can be considered a stick.
_________PERSONALITY ▪▫ A girl of simple taste, Yukari is quite easygoing although she considers herself to be somewhat of an introvert. Generally, she gets along well with others, but unless others talk to her first, she will keep to herself. In other words, she rarely initiates anything for herself. In academics, she is not top of the class nor is she a complete dunce. She studies when she needs to and overall, receives decent grades. But as with anything else, there is always someone who is better than herself, though she is not the type to compete. Yukari is also fortunate (or unfortunate in some cases) to harbor a wild imagination. To her, creativity is a virtue, though sometimes, she holds a tendency to interpret things in the wrong way (no, she's not a pervert... well, maybe just a bit). Quiet, calm, and reserved are the qualities Yukari usually comes off as. However, if people get on her bad side, her temper can prove to be explosive. She is not the best at managing her cool, but she's working on it. Yukari is generally open to suggestion and friendly, and while she tends to be more of a follower than a leader, there are times where she holds to her own opinion and abides by it. In critical situations though, Yukari is not one to think first before acting... there's simply no time for that. Otherwise, she's a content, happy-go-lucky, and perfectly ordinary person.
_________BIOGRAPHY ▪▫ The eldest of her family, Yukari was born to her Japanese father and English mother in Ikebukuro, Japan and spent about 4 years there before she moved to Venice, Italy. Her family was not particularly wealthy, but being from an upper-middle class family, Yukari never really worried about the economic stability of her family. She simply lived her life to the fullest, as anyone else her age would.

Because she had moved away from her native hometown at such an early age, Yukari never really got the chance to make many friends, but she easily adapted to her new surroundings and soon enough, she had a good group of friends that she could trust and rely on. School was just another part of her daily life, though as long as she could see her friends, she was content with attending school. Academic performance was important to her, but not to the extent to where it was a matter of life and death. Her parents never really pushed her to be the best nor did she try to be the best at anything. As long as she understood all the material, nothing else mattered. Her grades did not define who she was, after all. Furthermore, her younger brother was the lucky one who had been blessed with all the exceptional talents. Compared to him, she was nothing, though she did not hold anything against her brother for outdoing herself. It simply meant that he had much more pressure to deal with. As for herself, Yukari took on several interests during her childhood, including soccer, swimming, archery, kendo and piano (though that was more like a requirement). She never fully stuck to one sport, but nevertheless, Yukari practiced them in her free time as a means to relax.

It was during high school, that Yukari began to isolate herself from her classmates. The social hierarchy began to present itself and all of her middle school friends divided themselves into their own cliques. Even then, Yukari retained her carefree outlook on life, though she was not part of any particular clique. She still talked to her companions from time to time, only when they sought her out, but overall, the number of her "true" friends had dwindled down. Not that she cared much about it anyway. As her social identity began to fade, Yukari turned towards online gaming as a means to communicate with others. She was not an extreme gamer, but she did enjoy talking and playing with her online friends, sometimes, even more so than her real life friends. However, she made sure to know where to draw the line between reality and fiction. When Yukari first heard news of a virtual reality game in development, she immediately asked her parents to pre-order the game along with the NerveGear. Upon receiving Sword Art Online a few weeks later, Yukari was elated to be part of the Beta Testers that had the opportunity to experiment with the game before its official release to the public. Here was the chance for her to finally experience a world where reality and fantasy were intertwined.

_________APPEARANCE ▪▫ Yukari's appearance in-game is not too different than her real life appearance, aside from the color changes in certain physical aspects. She retains her long, straight hair, though now it is of a silvery-white color. Her eyes are icy blue to match her hair and her height is still the same as it is in real life. She basically took the opportunity to give herself an appearance that would not be common in real life. Living the fantasy, as one would call it.
_________PERSONALITY ▪▫ Between reality and virtual reality, Yukari sees it pointless to adopt a wildly different persona, though that doesn't mean she stays the same. A game is a game, so she might as well use that opportunity to change her character up a bit. Her in-game character is only a bit more friendly than her real-life self, but she tries to remain true to herself (doesn't always work though) and avoid deceiving others. Yukari is still a person of few words, but she isn't completely unsociable either. However, she does take the freedom to be more callous and hotheaded. She may also use more profanity as well-- whatever it takes to get her point across.
