The first year of college is over for Rachel, Quinn, and Kurt. Finally summer vacation. Quinn decided to come to New York and spend the summer with Rachel and Kurt. Kurt also goes back to work for vogue.com for his wonderful boss Isabelle Wright. Kurt decided that Quinn should see how fabulous it really is to be working for Isabelle. While showing Quinn around Isabelle and Quinn's paths cross and realize they both have an amazing sense of style. Isabelle offers Quinn a job at Vogue and since it is the summer and Quinn will be spending the whole time in New York that it would be perfect.

Isabelle "Vogue's Rogue" Wright

Isabelle was sitting down at the large table in the conference room. She knew that she had absolutely no ideas for what styles to show next for Vogue. It was frustrating because ever since Kurt left and went to NYADA she had trouble with ideas. Kurt was very intelligent about fashion and knew exactly what would be perfect to show next. Now that Kurt was back for the summer she thought that maybe he could help. Or maybe that new girl that she hired for a part time job. Quinn Fabray seemed like she knew what she was doing. Really the only reason that Rachel was not working for Isabelle was due to the fact that she didn't really have a sense of fashion. Then Isabelle got an idea. For once it seemed like her luck was finally changing. Rachel could be one of her models. Isabelle dialed Rachel's number but of course like usual it ran to voicemail. Isabelle decided that it would be best to leave Rachel a message. The worst she could say was no. " Hey Rachel! It's Isabelle Wright, Kurt and Quinn's boss. Listen I came across a job opportunity for you that I thought you might like. Please give me a call back when you get a chance. Hope that everything is going well. Talk to you soon. Bye! " Hoping that Rachel would want to work for her Isabelle let out a sigh of relief. 'Who wouldn't want to work for vogue.com, it's the perfect job!' Isabelle almost forgot the most important thing. She had to text Quinn and Kurt. Hopefully they would at least reply to texts.

To: Quinn Fabray, Kurt Hummel
From: Isabelle Wright
MSG: Hey I was wondering if you could come into the office today. I know that you both have a really good idea of styles that might be great to have in the magazine and really I have been trying to think of what would be great to put in there for days, but the thing is that I really am out of ideas. I'd really appreciate it, if you two could come in today. Text back when you can.

Quinn, Kurt, and Rachel had all gone their own separate ways after breakfast that morning, leaving Quinn to her own devices in New York. The first thing she did was simple, she headed to that barber that had cut her hair back at the end of junior year and got it cut again, the exact same way she had gotten it cut before. She had told no one that she was getting it cut again, because she wanted it to be surprise.

After her hair cut, she headed to Times Square and took a few pictures of herself to send to Santana, Brittany, her mom, and her roommate from back at Yale. Her roommate was actually the one who put the idea of getting her hair cut back short in her head. It had been one of those nights, Quinn was missing home, and her roommate walked in on her looking at her senior year scrapbook, something she had made in secret over the summer. When her roommate caught sight of Quinn with her short hair in one of the pictures, she had gasped and began yelling at Quinn, asking why she had let her hair grow out, for according to her Quinn had looked “…sexy as hell!” This of course made Quinn blush as she tried to explain that she did not think she had looked that good with her hair cut short, when in reality, she had only let it grow out because she was fearful what would happen to her at Yale with her short hair.

After that night, Quinn had been tempted to cut it short, but for some reason, it did not feel right, thus, she waited until the summer, when she would be staying in New York with Rachel and Kurt. She was excited, to say the least, to be spending the summer with them, instead of with her mother on some lame vacation that would likely end in tears for someone, likely Quinn. Staying with Rachel and Kurt however, she knew would be an adventure, and boy, was it already one, first week of summer, and she already had a summer job, at Vogue.com of all places.

Speaking of Vogue, Quinn felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and took it out, reading over the text from Isabelle, obviously meant for both her and Kurt, Quinn smiled. Isabelle wanted their advice on fashions styles, she could understand why Isabelle wanted Kurt’s opinion, he was a fashion God or something, but her opinion, it made little sense. Sure, Isabelle had hired Quinn because of her natural fashion sense, but how could she be sure that Quinn was not some crazy person who just threw clothes on and they just happened to look good? ‘Because that is not you, normally, so text her back and get going!’ She told herself, chuckling slightly at her delusions.

To: Isabelle Wright
From: Quinn Fabray
MSG: I cannot speak for Kurt, but I am on my way, be there soon.
~Fabray

Quinn sent the text, signing it ‘Fabray’ instead of ‘Quinn’ or ‘Q’ because she was trying to be more formal, since she did not know her boss that well yet. She then headed off in the direction of Broadway, knowing how to go from Times Square to Vogue, having done the trip with Santana and Brittany when they got her hair cut.

She arrived at Vogue in about ten minutes, having been jogging, instead of just walking. She collected herself and entered the building, heading up to the Vogue office via the stairs, because waiting for an elevator would take too long. She reached the floor in record time, once again collected herself, and then entered the office. After asking someone where Isabelle was, since she really did not have that much time to go looking, she headed off in the direction they pointed her.

She quickly found Isabelle in a glass room, sitting alone at a long oval table and a smile appeared on Quinn’s face. She quickened her pace ever so slightly, and knocked on the door before entering. “You wanted to see me Isabelle?” Quinn asked, her smile bright and yet subdued, as she ran her fingers through her shortened hair, fluffing it slightly at the back, giggling ever so slightly. To say that she liked her new haircut was an understatement; she loved it; and was starting to wish she had cut her hair off earlier.

Isabelle "Vogue's Rogue" Wright

Isabelle was sitting down at the large table. "Quinn, please have a seat. As you know I have been trying to figure out ideas for Vogue's summer collection. As you might have noticed Kurt has been a bit busy recently although he has been coming in more often since he was out of college for the summer. I still needed your advice. From what I was told by Kurt and Rachel and from what I have seen you are constantly changing styles. So I thought that maybe we could chat about the colors and patterns. I love the standards but I need some way to put a twist on them. For example there are always floral skirts out in the spring collection but never any floral pants that I feel like I would be caught dead in. Do you kind of see where I am coming from?" Isabelle asked. She knew that sometimes she had the hardest time explaining things and almost needed to use Kurt as a translator.

Quinn took a seat as she was instructed, happy that Isabelle had said nothing about her giggling at the door. In all honesty, she was as giddy as a school girl, but she did try to refrain from bouncing up and down with utter joy and excitement as Isabelle began to speak. She spoke of putting twists on the usual, which Kurt had informed Quinn, Isabelle enjoyed doing, but had trouble getting her ideas across, and executing them correctly, without help. This is where they stepped in, helping Isabelle show others her vision, while making sure it was up to the standards, or at least that is what Quinn had derived from Kurt’s twenty minute speech at breakfast.

Once Isabelle finished speaking, Quinn processed everything the woman has said, floral pants, that could be done, because floral was almost always in, but then, darker clothes were also in this season, so the colors needed to be muted some, maybe not full on black and white, but definitely darker than usual. The nerd look was also in, which Quinn hated the idea of, it made no sense, and people had been “dressing like nerds” for ages and it just now became popular? She knew it had a lot to do with the fact that bullying was always centered around nerds, before shows like The Big Bang Theory came out and showed that nerds could be cool. Stripes and squares, lines really, were in season, but not plaid, plaid was not a spring/summer thing, more of an autumn/winter thing.

“Muted floral pants, a darker base, black or purple, maybe even maroon, with the floral print over top, in a lighter color, white with black, pinks and lavenders with purple, and if you go maroon, try whites and reds, but nothing too outrageous. Maybe, a combination of large and small, starting small and close at the top and getting larger and farther apart as the pattern moves down the pants, or even vice versa, it would take some trial and error to get the exact colors and patterns that should be used right, but that is the basic idea. Match that with either a solid shirt, or a shirt with hints of the same floral pattern and you should be good to go.

“Oriental designs seem to be an upcoming trend as well, so maybe, with those floral pants, use an Oriental floral design. Actually, I see it now, black pants with the floral design in white, light pink, dark pink, and maybe even some red, to represent the Japanese Cherry Blossoms. It would be very pretty and the floral would stand out just enough on the dark pants, that I believe it would look amazing. If you did not want to go black pants, you could even go a dark brown to represent the tree itself.

“Dark is in this season, but so is squares and stripes. Perhaps, instead of doing a white square and a colored square, you do two shades of the same color, or contrasting colors, because the whole black and white, as well as the colored and white, is a little too overused, in my opinion. This is a skirt, make the squares of medium to small size, and match it with an according shirt. So, if you used contrasting colors, use a black, maybe a white, shirt. If you used two shades of the same color, perhaps use a neutral color, or even go with a darker shade of the same color than the ones used in the skirt. You could go full checkered, which I mean, is an option, but that would be better done as a dress than a skirt and top combination.

“I may have a few more ideas but those are the most prominent and thought out at the moment,”
Quinn said, after realizing she had been rambling on and on about her ideas, not even giving Isabelle a time to say ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ to an idea. In all honesty, she sort of sounded like Rachel, which scared her a bit, but then, Rachel was one of her best friends, so she figured that talking like her was not a big deal, it was better than having her voice stuck in her head, like she had Santana’s, Brittany’s, and Coach Sue’s. However, she had a feeling she would start hearing Rachel’s voice after this summer, as well as Kurt’s and possibly Isabelle’s, she just hoped they did not start fighting, like Santana and Brittany’s voices tend to do now that the two are broken up.
