Here's a list of words commonly used in the Guild that might be helpful to know.
SAO: Sword Art Online RP: Role-play RPC: Role-play Character IC: In Character OC/OoC: Out of Character OC: Original Character NPC: Non-Playable Character MCC: Moderater Controlled Character Canon: Any characters, weapons, powers from an existing series i.e. Goku, Elucidator, Sharingan etc. Godmodder: A person who makes their character overly powerful or invincible. Meta Gamer:A person who uses OOC knowledge while in character. For instance, knowing another character’s thoughts or name before meeting them in character. Power Player: Someone who controls another person’s character without their prior permission. Mary Sue / Gary Stu: A stereotypical character without flaws. The worst sort of character any roleplayer could create.
Argus: is a small company that produces designs for NerveGear. Kayaba Akihiko: The creator of the NerveGear system as well as the developer of SAO. VRMMORPG: Acronym for Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game NerveGear: A helmet with a smooth, deep blue color. At the back, it has a wire of the same color stretched out of a long pad. It also has battery and internal memory to store data from the games. System used to access and play VRMMORPGs. Each helmet can only be calibrated to one person at a time. FullDive: The act of using one's NerveGear to fully immerse one's conscience in virtual reality. NERDLES is required for a FullDive NERDLES: NERve Direct Linkage Environment System. Refers to the steps used to set up and calibrate NerveGear to a person. Includes a full facial recognition scan as well as height, weight, gender, and age inputs. Aincrad: The name of the world where SAO takes place. Floor: An entire level within Aincrad. Multiple areas, towns and dungeons reside within a single Floor. Cardinal System: The primary and driving management force of the SAO servers. Player: The user and their respective character stuck within SAO. Clearer: An elite player within the game who is at higher level than all other players who focus on experience skill development, and getting better equipment in order to clear levels to complete the game. Front Lines: Refers to the highest and most current level and area of SAO accessible for players. Dungeon:A labyrinth that has numerous paths, monsters, and rooms. In Aincrad, dungeons are found on every floor. They are tower-like structures that connect each floor to next. The Boss Room of a dungeon must be found and cleared before the stairs to the next floor are opened. Boss Room: The last area to be cleared before advancing a Floor. Contains the strongest monster of that Floor, a Boss, but also comes with the greatest reward. Safe Zone: Refers mainly to cities and towns, but can also refer to rest areas within larger Dungeons. Monsters cannot enter the area and PVPs are not allowed. Teleport Gate: Main portal of transportation found within the center of a Floor's main city. Allows travel between all currently cleared Floors. Grinding: The term used for extensive periods of training. Guild: An organization of Players of similar ideals. Represented by a flag and a main headquarters. Party: Temporary groups of Players who join together for each other's benefits. Duel: Authorized PVPs allowable even within Safe Zones. PVP: Player Versus Player
