Information about starting equipment.

Things to note:
Range refers to the typical and preferred distance you will be using your weapon.
Type refers to the type of attack and damage dealt neutrally without the use of Skills.
Weight is what you use to determine your current Equip Limit. i.e. a Sword weighs 5, while 2 pieces of armor weigh 5 each for a total of 15/25
Attack does not add to your base Strength. It is merely the neutral damage of the weapon in question.

Things to note:
Armor comes in three fashions. Top, Bottom, or All.
It is possible to mix various types of armors, but not recommended due to the increased difficulty in finding armor and mastering Skills.
Armor determines your level of defense on prior to your characters defenses. i.e. You wear a cloak with "Armor: 5", you have 5 extra points of defense before your character is affected.
Weight not only determines your Equip Limit, but also in terms of role-playing. i.e. a heavy armored character moves slower but has greater defenses than one in a cloak.
Defense does boost your base Defense stat. i.e. your base Defense is 5 and you equip the Beta Leather Cloak, your Defense would look like this. Defense: 5
