The decorations were set, the food was prepared. All that remained now was for the guests to arrive.
Kraze normally kept the whereabouts of her house to herself, but she felt with the holiday season fast approaching, that a party was in order. And after the worrisome incident at the last holiday gathering, she knew her place would be the safest bet. No one would attack a dragon's home centered in an extinct volcano, would they?
Rune had finished hanging the last of the holly and ribbons about the base of the large dragon statue in the center of the main entrance, a large mass of silver that was enveloped by the two grand staircases that led up to the ballroom floor on the second floor. Kraze fidgeted, having not donned her mask just yet. Soon, people would be arriving. And soon, the festivities would begin. Hopefully everyone had gotten their invitations..

 Illy looked at Epiros and smiled as she adjusted his mask. " Are you excited? I've missed everyone so much. I think we're the first ones here, though I suppose we won't know for sure until we're in there."

Epiros nodded in agreement.
"I'm sure everyone will come. Hopefully the Admiral did too, since ve still need to report that incident to him." He spoke, a faint Novinskian accent taking his voice.
Bewsh approached Kraze from behind. And saluted, donning a sandy tan and black military jacket and a black mask that matched the accents of his outfit.
"Rune and I have the appetizers prepared. Permission to end my shift and commence to party?" He barked in militant fashion, a small smirk cracking his lips, revealing his joking nature.

Naio walked in at a leisurely pace, brushing a bit of sand off his jacket and smoothing out his hair. He had come straight from Peria and kind of collected something to wear on the way, particularly proud of the boots he had gotten off the elves in Jerrim.
It was going to be nice to see everyone again, he had starting missing them about a week into being separated and hadn't stopped since. And not that he didn't love Sion like a brother but all that time with only him had practically driven Naio up a wall, some variation in faces and character was going to be heavenly.

Hima sat in the back of a carriage that carefully made its way through the mountains to Kraze's home. Her hand kept knotting and untying a strip of black cloth as she fretted over the kids. " Do you think they'll be okay? Not that I think Ai will be a bad babysitter, but what if fighting breaks out again while we're gone? Should we turn the carriage around? What if there are more of those things?" Her large, slightly almond shaped brown and gold eyes looked at Wesley pleadingly. Hima wanted to see everyone more than anything, but the safety of her children came first.

Wesley spoke calmly.
"I've deduced from its lack of self-preservation that it was a probe. His look didn't leave Hima, his face straight as a line.
"That thing was part of something bigger. That something bigger is just making sparse kills and gathering information right now...Riketz's niece should be more than enough to handle anything that might assail them."
He finally turned his head to look out the window, his fox mask's nose sticking out a little.
"We should try to enjoy ourselves...we might not get another opportunity any time soon."

Kraze glanced back, grinning at her companion. "I suppose we could start."
Donning her mask, she smoothed the front of her dress, turning to face Bewsh.
"How does it look? I've never really worn purple before."

Rune opened the door, His yellow eyes seeming to pierce into their souls through the simple black mask he wore.
"Ah, Lady Illiyana." He bowed, stepping back to let her in. "Velcome, Fraulein, to the Silver Dragon Masquerade Ball."
The large silver dragon statue loomed over them, arched in such a way that it looked like it would come alive and attack party-goers. The fountain at the foot of the statue has lotus flowers with small candles floating in them. A long table of food and drink stretched out in front of that, laden with numerous ethnic foods.

The Lady jumped, startled by Rune. Taking Epiros' hand she smiled and entered, observing the looming silver dragon. "Good evening, Rune. Oh, Kraze you look beautiful. And is that Bewsh under that mask? How handsome you are tonight."
It had been a while since Illy had indulged in something like a masquerade and while her lady-like qualities had diminished in her year with the Adventure Fleet she had to admit this felt splendid.

"It looks good on your skin...er, wait...I mean, you make the..er..." He paused and calculated for a moment.
"You look lovely, Kraze." He was glad he was wearing a mask at this moment.
Epiros looked at the Dragon and smiled, his opalescent skin shining.
"I'll rely on HIM to keep us safe tonight." He spoke in a tone that people might mistake for a joke.

He didn't enter right away but rather stood and stared into it, he had never been to her home before, he and Kuro had just kind of sucked her into theirs. He had to admit it was quite beautiful.
Naio nodded to Rune and held out his hand, not about to just walk right past a man he knew had put a lot of work into the home and party both. "Its been a long time, Rune. Even before we officially separated if I'm remembering it right." He chuckled, "but you know me and memory. It'd forget my wings if they weren't attached."

Rune grinned. "It HAS been a vhile, Naiomesis." he answered, clasping his hand firmly in greeting. "But I digress. Zere is still much for me to do, I'm afraid. I vill be around, but fleetingly. I am not used to partaking in such festivities." he admitted, giving an apologetic bow before making his exit.

Asali made her way down the left Grand staircase, blushing deeply, her red cheeks still easily seen in spots not covered by her mask or eyepatch. She had never been to a masquerade ball before in her life. Uneasy about the whole ordeal, she would have loved nothing more than to hide away in her room, but Kraze had asked her to at least come down for an hour, so she was doing just that.
The white kimono flowed around her feet, almost looking like it was made of smoke, or a light, airy fabric. Kiyone had done a wonderful job making this on request of Kraze, and Asali wore it tonight.
Brushing a lock of hair behind her ear, she looked around, seeing the retreating Rune and a few others she knew. Smiling gently, she reached the final stair, setting her feet down upon the marble floor.

Kraze giggled. "Thank you for the compliment, Bewshie~" she smiled, givig a deep curtsy. She saw Asali, giving her a wave consisting of a few fingers fluttering, before turning back to Bewsh.
"Hmm~ So far, it looks like things are off to a good start~"

Illy was almost overwhelmed by her friends all being in one spot. Admittedly she wanted to go crazy and run about the room, hugging each of them as tightly as possible.
It occurred to her that this wasn't Novinskian or Altasian high-society... So with a smile and a squeak she released Epiros' hand and glomped Naio, her first victim.
