I'm usually really unfazed by the massive tragedies of today.
It's really easy to say, "That was terrible." and move on.
But today's killings are hitting me right in the gut,
18 children dead.
I feel sick.
I've been a babysitter, an afterschool tutor, a childrens' karate instructor, a teacher's Aide, and an English teacher.
I'm content to devote my whole life to kids, and someone out there has the capacity to slaughter them?
Past that, goddamned Facebook is all about praying.

This is why I'm disgusted with humanity.
If people would just shrug off that goddamned opiate that is religion, they would realize that the only people we have to blame for all that is wrong with this world is ourselves.

I'm not going to condemn anyone for turning to faith in times of tragedy, that's their choice. Where religion goes wrong is when people use it (or lack of it) as an excuse for their own actions.
That being said, I hugged my kids extra tight today.
Sophie is in kindergarten.
I can't actually watch the news right now without getting physically ill.

Not sure how to feel. I have no kids, I don't babysit or teach or really deal with kids or people for that matter, so I have a hard time really feeling how other people feel. Not really close to anyone really or even get people to really converse with me (well besides my parents, my mom not as much).
It is very unfortunate for the families having to go through all that.
Not going bash religion or religious people, I tend to stay out of that.

Not going bash religion or religious people, I tend to stay out of that. There really is no handbook for how one shall feel in times of great tragedy, but so long as you feel something (even if it's a second pausing and going, "that's horrible"), it's a good sign.
