Any thoughts on this? I was thinking either the usual Secret Santa or something closer to a White Elephant. Pretty much everyone knows what Secret Santa is and how they work and, personally, I'm not a fan of them. It's fun to give and receive but gifting when both parties could have purchased the item themselves seems inefficient...
So, being a bit of a Gacha addict, I like the idea of a fun, cheap, mystery gift exchange! Aka, the White Elephant. How I would work it: All participants donate (either something on hand or purchase something) an item with a market or shop value of less than 10k prior to the date of the exchange. I would disallow game and starter items or place a minimum price to make things a little more fair. Or drop the max price of the item maybe. The items will be "numbered" according to the order of sign-up. Pretty much the second person's item is #2, only the username and number will be listed. Then on the day of the exchange all participants generate a random number based on the number of participants, if you get your own number you'd generate again. Trades would be sent out ASAP by either the coordinator or the member (depending on what people feel comfortable with).
So, thoughts? Would anyone be interested, what would you want, what would you change, etc.
