The moon was rising on the horizon as the apostle of darkness known as Phobos settled on a dune overlooking a Keh'Jan forward scouting camp. He closed his eyes as he let his thoughts drift across the night and into the minds of the sleeping scouts, filling their dreams with nightmares as he planted a bit of his essence into their thoughts. "Now to enjoy the show" he chuckled to himself
The soldat snapped out of his nightmare with a shout as he tried to catch his breath, a cold sweat covering his body. All around him he heard similar shouts from all around the barracks. He turned to the guy next to him "I think there's something wrong here, don't you..." his voice trailed off as he noticed that in the next bunk over wasn't his squadmate, but the gaunt, skull-faced creature from his dream. Screaming, the soldat rolled of his bunk and grabbed his sidearm from it's holster and opened fire, killing the horror in front of him. Looking around, he saw to his dismay, more of those creatures rising from there bunks and aiming their guns at him.
All around the base, the sounds of gunshots and screams echoed across the dunes as former comrades killed each other until there was silence, a silence that was broken by a single applause as Phobos walked into the center of the base to finished his work

Static crackled over a CB radio set up in the barracks of the Kehjani encampment, the voice of a synthetic man echoing over the speaker. "Attention all outposts. Invasion time in T-minus 20 minutes. Direct all artillery to the Bel'tha'gian coordinates and await firing orders.", the electronic voice said with a tone of command as the static ceased.

Phobos paused as he pulled his hand out of another soldat, infecting him with the blight hmm, this is interesting... he thought to himself before sending his thoughts to Val master, the invasion of Bel'tha'go is about to begin, should we get involved? Val's voice whispered in his thoughts No, this is the perfect time to attack Keh'Jan. with the troops that you have collected as well and the ones Pain have brought, we shall overwhelm what force remains. And Discord has informed me that her whispering in Ba'Hi'Ir have caused them to stay their hands from aiding Bel'tha'go Phobos grinned, as you command master

Far above in the skies of the Shadelands, just outside the desert land's borders, a mammoth Vertibird bearing the crest of a golden crown against a black and red shield soared through the night clouds as it's monstrous chopper blades cut the air on it's path. A man sat in a command chair on the bridge of the airship, drumming his fingers on the chair's arm as three teams of technicians worked on the console's surrounding him. He wore neatly pressed black military formals with red trim, a determined look in his clear blue eyes. "Sir! We're approaching the border into the Shadelands, we'll be inside Kehjani territory in 5 minutes.", one of the technicians called out, looking over his shoulder to the man. With a quiet smirk, the man stood from his seat, walking down the ramp to the front row of technicians, "Very good. Drop speed and veer starboard, we'll keep a watchful eye from above until the time to strike is just right.", the man spoke with an aura of command, the technician nodding as he keyed in sets of data on the modern day terminal, "Aye, sir! You heard the Marshal, drop speed by 30% and prepare for a sharp turn!", the technician relayed to the others as the man turned on his heel to walk back to his chair. The Marshal sat in his command position on the bridge of the Aegalorean Vertibird, the gargantuan airship making a sudden shift in course to the starboard as a fleet of what look like modern day Black Hawk helicopters escort the Vertibird and their high profile commander into the Shadelands.

The Aegalorean vertibird airship and the precession of combat helicopters flew in an arcing pattern around the edge of Kehjani territory, "Status report.", the Aegalorean Marshal said, looking at the main display at the forefront of the bridge that displayed a radar readout of the desert for several miles around the airborne convoy. One of the technicians working on a terminal in the row just below the Marshal's command station turned his head to look back at the commanding officer, "Our long range scanner is picking up energy spikes southwest of our position, sir.", the tech engineer relayed to the Marshal. "Could you elaborate on that? What kind of energy, nuclear?", the Marshal questioned, looking down to the technician. "Unknown, sir. There are two different signatures, both giving off the power output of a nuclear reactor but scans aren't picking up any radiation.", the engineer relayed, as the Marshal stood from his command chair. The Aegalorean Marshal walked down the ramp to the front of the bridge, turning to look at his subordinates with an intense stare, "Get a UAV in the air, I want a visual of this whole desert on screen ten minutes ago.", the Marshal commanded, looking over the tiered rows of airship operators, "Radio the choppers to send a scout and take us there, I want to see whatever is giving off these energy readings for myself." The technicians all gave an acknowledging nod as they went to work, a pair of the combat helicopters breaking from the pack to speed through the air to the target coordinates as the back hatch of the mammoth vertibird slides open. A slender winged aircraft was lowered down the vertibird's ramp, the unmanned aircraft activating remotely from the airship and veering off to assume it's programmed course.
