Zev's room is a lot like himself; simple and orderly, somewhat charming but not particularly interesting at first glance. Yet, once someone took the time to really look, they'd discover all the things that made it amazing.

The choice of colors had been a completely disinterested one. Zev harbored no particular feelings towards any color and didn't care much about the decor of his room - as long as it wasn't too garish he would live with it. He had, however, bought a warm-looking light blue comforter in a whim, so he decided to stick with that. Truth be told, most of the actual decorating had been done by Zev's sisters, which explained the slightly feminine look. But Zev, accommodating as he was towards them, didn't complain at all.

The room itself was rather large, so Zev managed to create three distinctive spaces within: a sleeping area, a small office and some sort of lounge. The first, located right next to the window, includes a double bed with a nightstand and a small shelf where Zev keeps the books he is currently reading and the plant his grandmother gave him. A few feet away from the foot of the bed rests a medium-sized wardrobe with a large, full-sized mirror by its side.

The office is probably the space Zev uses the less, as strange as it might sound. It is, however, quite interesting, as it had been made so it is full of shelves and drawers and sliding tables that manage to hold everything Zev needs for his schoolwork. Most of the time though, the only thing on top of it is his laptop.

Zev spends most of his time in the lounge, which he uses not only to hang around but also to study, eat and sometimes even sleep. It holds a very comfortable two-people couch and two equally fluffy chairs, all in black leather. On one of the walls hangs a TV, which is hardly ever turned on. Separating the lounge and the office there is an extension of the desk (which is L-shaped) with a shelving on top, most of the items on it merely decoration.

The centerpiece is, hands down, the wall-sized bookshelf that occupies an entire side of the dorm, near the office area. It holds not only all of Zev's books (novels, old textbooks, essays, comic books) but also an assortment of incredibly varied items Zev has acquired (stolen or gifted) during his trips to the human world. His favorite is, by far, the old globe of the Earth, so antique the ink has almost washed off entirely.

        Zev is currently reading:
          ● "Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness" by Susannah Cahalan
          ● "The Professor & the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity & the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary" by Simon Winchester
          ● "A Possible Life: A Novel in Five Parts" by Sebastian Faulks
          ● "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany" by William L. Shirer
          ● "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley

"I've been reading a lot of human books since I got here. Fascinating, really! Seems like humans are pretty much the only race to write about anything other than wars. Luckily, the Academy's library has a bunch of the ones they deem "classics" and it's ridiculously easy to get the new ones. On that note, still can't get over the fact their year is 2012 when for me it's 1434. It's like I'm reading things from the future!"

        Zev listens to:
          ● Broken Bells
          ● Vivaldi
          ● Eric Clapton
          ● Monkey Majic
          ● Eros Ramazzotti

"So I've never been much for music, to be honest. I mostly just let it play while I study or read, so I always prefer calm, unobtrusive things. That said, the music we make (djinns, I mean) is simply terrible, so the things I listen are always bands or composers I've picked up from my trips to the human world. I really enjoy orchestral music, but lately I've been trying to go out of my comfort zone and try other things. Not going too well so far, to be honest"
