User Image Kai stood at the altar wondering how the hell he had managed to get roped into this. He knew that as one of the oldest vampire clan chief's he was considered 'matching' to the rare she-wolf that would eventually sway down the aisle towards him... but that didn't mean he liked it! No, far from it. If it wasn't for the tedium that this war had become, all the lost comrades he had watched turned to dust, all the pain and agony, he probably would have laughed at the 'Peace councils' decision for a marriage to happen between the two factions.

This would never work though, he knew it was simply a stalling device... after all, how could a werewolf and a vampire ever live in peace and harmony under one roof, let alone act and behave like a married couple!? The mere idea of actually sleeping with the thing was less than appetising, but he would complete his duty, mark her with a bite and then leave it at that. The world could think what they wanted afterwards. He at least hoped she wasn't some maiden... Christ, he would perhaps even feel guilty for stealing her maidenhead.... granted he would feel even worst if she turned out to be as ugly as a hog!

His best man chuckled and nudged him, leaning close to whisper. "It stinks to high heaven in here, I wonder how they are going to get rid of the dog smell?!" Kai huffed at that, not in the mood to 'joke' about this, not right now at least. Kai had lived for a long time... a very long time. Watched as civilisation changed and evolved around him. Humans were less willing to believe their cover stories now, less willing to believe in magic and simply run away from the 'monster', no they had their questions and curious eyes... that was what this was all really about, their kinds survival. Keeping their existence a secret form the humans had always been a priority, but of late it had become more so, of course not all upheld it, many had done just the opposite. Taking brides and not using their allure to confuse their prey in a sexual haze before feeding.... egoists and uncivilised gibbons as far as Kai was concerned. He hadn't asked for this way of life, but nor was he ready to part with it.

"Do you at least have the rings?" He hissed to the man beside him, the guys grin fading as he tapped his top pocket and nodded. "Yeah.... glad I'm not the one sharing her bed if she had this on her finger!" Kai shook his head, right now he didn't care, though he supposed the guy did have a point. Each of the rings held a capsule at the front that would break if you slammed it with enough force. Each ring held a different solution, silver for his ring and witches blood for hers. Something that would kill the other. An insurance policy against the other. It was almost laughable. Before coming here he had looked at the strange blue witches blood, it swirled and shifted around inside it's little glass pocket... strange how so little blood could kill him. The witches having long ago assured their own protection against his kind. Kai was actually friends, if you could call the cackling wenches that, with a few witches.... they had their uses, he would at least give them that.

Impatience started to build in him as he looked down at the perfection that was his tuxedo. This event may be fake in the long term but Kai did look rather dashing, had watched more than one female vampire swoon and seek his attention after seeing him.... his long brown hair had been tried up in a simple pony tail, a ribbon the colour of fresh blood holding it in place, matching the eyes shone out of his face with their eerie redness.... he remembered, a long time ago, how his eyes had once been green. Strange, he couldn't remember everything but he could remember that! His mind wandered to thoughts of this day... after the ceremony their was the after party, something Kai had no intention of lingering at for long -which mean he would be dragging his new bride with him- and then there was going home, to his home. After all, he lived alone, had the best security and enough wealth to keep even the most spoilt Princess happy given everything he had learnt over the years. Investments and money had become second nature to him and his clan.

Looking at his watch he wondered how much longer they would be kept waiting.... females and their need to be fashionable late.... something else to hold against the lass.

It's perfect! I hope this is okay, too.

User Image"Get off me, will ya? Hey, cut that out!" Damn bloodsucking pests, Perstephone thought with a scowl as she wrestled her arm free from the leering, red-eyed freaks that were escorting her to the church where their wedding was supposed to take place. She looked over her shoulder, through the heavy glass door that marked the entrance to the church and saw her sister and her father, both looking less than pleased at what was going to happen in that church. Steffi nodded at them and they nodded back; it was clear they weren't going to stick around for the ceremony. But that was okay. Steffi didn't want this to be a world-broadcasted event on her end; she was sure the blood-suckers would do a more than adequate job making their union public.

Steffi knew more about the vampires than she would've liked to. Liars, cheaters... the list was endless. They procreated by stealing the live of innocent humans, as annoying as they were. At least werewolves could give birth to their own species; no, vampires had to create followers like parasites. And to top it all off, they were immortal! As if it couldn't get any worse. To spend an eternity with something like that just filled Steffi with dread. She didn't know much about the ceremony, as she'd been drinking heavily the night before when she was supposed to be learning about it, but she knew about the rings, and she couldn't wait to finally have that kind of protection in her vicinity. Now... if only it weren't a Vamp doling them out...

Steffi wasn't stupid -- she knew that this whole wedding thing was just a ruse, a ploy to keep the vamps and the wolves from ripping each others throats out. Of course, none of this would've been necessary had those pesky humans kept their noses out of supernatural business... but you could only count on them for one thing, and that was messing everything up. Glaring at the vamps with her icy gray eyes, Steffi brushed past them without a word, fighting to keep her fangs from baring as she the doors to the main hall were opened for her. She shook her head, knowing that she would have to fight to get through this process in a dignified fashion. It's just... the stink of blood was making her woozy, and the smell of death was infiltrating the air like smoke.

Steffi didn't like wearing a dress, but if she was going down, then dammit, she might as well do it traditionally. She wasn't wearing anything overly fancy, just a tight-fitting white mini-dress and a matching pearl necklace and earring set... her mother had gotten her the clothes, and the white stiletto sandals she wore as she walked, forever dignified, down the aisle. Her hair was out, for once, piled messily over one shoulder, and the tattoo on her shoulder was prominent as she took her place next to her husband-to-be. Sure, she was getting married. But she'd be damned if she had to trade in her rustic, wolf-like charm to look good in front of a congregation of undead Victorians.

She'd never seen Kai before, and he'd never seen her, so his opinion of her was unknown. Steffi didn't look up at him -- she didn't even acknowledge his presence as she stared solemnly at the altar, her blood-red lips pursed in annoyance as she waited for the ceremony to begin. She could feel a hundred pairs of red eyes on her back; none of her representatives had come, of course, but Steffi was fine with that. Werewolves always toughed everything out without millions of dollars in the bank and a rap sheet the size of Texas... well... maybe not the last part.

"... Kai," she said finally, her eyes never wavering as she took a deep breath and tried to ignore the foreboding feeling rising in her chest. She spat his name like venom on her lips, her hands tightening around the small bouquet of wilting carnations she'd picked up at a convenience store on the way there. It almost seemed like they were dying right there, in the presence of death, and Perstephone thought this analogy most fitting. At that moment, she couldn't help being grateful that she was horribly promiscuous... after all, in the lycan world, losing your maidenhead to a vampire was just about the worst thing that could happen to a girl.

Despite his initial intention Kai found himself turning to look down the aisle when the heavy oak doors finally opened and closed to reveal the entry of... his bride, and despite it all he had to admit that the creature was... delectable, in her own strange way. Though he tried to tell himself that was because he wanted to drink her dry and be done with it, would always have that as an option he supposed. Oops, I got carried away... my bad. Yeah, that was a sure fire way of starting a war, but who knew, after a day of living with a dog, war would likely look appetising! She wore a too short dress that cling to her curves and revealed... that cursed tattoo! Couldn't she at least have the decency to cover herself up? Did she hold no respect? That said, he did acknowledge that his eyes had drifted up and down her entire body... appraising his new bride he told himself, though his gaze held something else within his red eyes, something Kai would not allow himself to think about. She was a wolf, nothing more and nothing less, he would not look upon her with desire. That set, his eyes hardened, not that she would notice, it was clear she was doing her best not to look at him or anyone else, as if trying to prove that she would do this because she had to but she would do it on her terms. Whatever, two could play at this game... and it was a game Kai had no intention of losing.

The way she spoke his name, as if it was a curse and poison upon her lips simply sealed her fate. He frowned for a moment, his red eyes snapping to the ice of her blue and just like her he did not waver in his contact, instead he simply smirked. If she hoped to entice hatred and anger from him... she had a lot to learn. Instead, he purred out her name in reply, hoping to throw her off guard with his intimately seductive way of saying her name. "Perstephone." Yes, he used her full name, decided as it rolled of his lips like water that he always would. He bowed his head a little, but was far from done. If she hoped that he would not touch her, well, he planned to do the opposite.... anything to piss off his little wolf. How he hated thinking of her as his! He had always envisioned creating his own mate when the time was right. Some small blonde with brains as well as beauty, all delicate beauty and subtle curves. Someone who would fit under his arm and look like she belonged there... Perstephone... she could never look like she belonged there. Wolf and Vampire? It went against nature, the desire to strike out even now present. Still, despite his thoughts he reached out and claimed her hand in his own, brought it to his lips, purposefully flashing his fangs before placing a kiss upon her knuckles. Yes, he could pretend to be charming if it meant throwing her off her game. After all, he expected the ice he was currently getting and was sure she expected the same... Kai would oblige her at times, especially when they finally entered 'his' space, his home, but right now he decided this was a quicker way to get what he wanted... the upper hand.

With a wink he released her hand and turned his attention with all the nonchalance he could muster as the priest rose, Kai wanted to make it seem as if didn't give his actions so much as a second thought, which was mostly correct. Eyes on the priest he tried to ignore the small and very revealed body of Perstephone. The guy was neither vampire or werewolf, a decided neutral party so that neither side could claim that they had been forced into their vows. Kai supposed it was remarkable how far the council had gone to try and cover all the bases, to safe guard the marriage... as it was actually real to some. Whatever. Vampire and Werewolf alike knew the truth, no amount of meddling from fairies, pixies, witches, gnomes and other magical creature would change that. The war between their kind had raged on for too long to simply be forgotten, to simply be swept under the rug as if it never happened. Kai had fought against Perstephone's kind for too long to forgive and forget. Had killed more than his fair share of them mercilessly, knowing that it was kill or be killed. Even his security system shot silver darts at any intruders,,,, something he had very reluctantly removed given his soon to be wife's weakness to the stuff... killing her would only bring Kai trouble after all, it had nothing to do with actual concern for her or her life.

The wizard examined them before looking at the congregation and back. Kai was more than aware that none of the wolves had come, and he saw that as an insult to him. At least he had upheld his side of the bargain, had treated it as real despite the truth, his people were here to bare witness... if the wolves hoped that they would make a point with their absence, well, Kai would make sure it backfired! Manipulation and Blackmail were often his middle names after all. The ceremony was to be recorded, and if there was a way to pay her kind back for insulting him... well, he would gladly do it! Kai wasn't known for his forgiving nature.

She's a wolf. Don't forget what she is. He reminded himself, even as the guy began the ceremony.

"Kai," No surname was given, the need of such things long ago lost in the Vampire world. They all tended to change and shed them so often that it was hard to keep track of which one was real and which one fake. "Do you take Perstephone for your lawful wedded wife, to live in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love, honour, comfort, and cherish her from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto her for as long as you both shall live? For as long as you both shall live? That could be a very short time if she annoyed him, he mused. Even as his stoic expression showed none of the inner turmoil he was currently in.... he really didn't want to do this.

Still, he said, "I do." Heard a few hisses and gasps behind him, they had expected, or maybe at least hoped, that he would refute the vows, back down and maybe even kill the thing before any more harm could be done... but, Kai had wanted to prove to his little wolf that he was no coward, the dare now in her hands as he turned to look at her, a look of defiant challenge upon his face. If she refused then the resulting slaughter would be all her fault....

Steffi felt a shiver go down her spine as Kai glanced down at her; a strange sensation, considering she'd never been known to fear anything her entire life. She suddenly felt cold; but it wasn't the kind of cold that came from overexerted air-conditioning... this was a deeper kind of soul cold that lingered beneath her skin. And when he said her name... how terrible! Steffi had to keep herself from bolting out and jumping into the nearest body of water, so desperate was she to cleanse herself of the feeling she had just gotten as he spoke. Was he honestly trying to play her game? The game she had initiated -- and won -- on numerous occasions? What a fool... He may have been ten times her age, but he obviously didn't know much about women... at least... not women like Steffi, who's life revolved around 'the Game', the thrill of the chase, the seduction... and the consequence that came with it.

Steffi could smell his disapproval emanating from his pale skin, and she smirked openly, happy to have found something to irk him with, although honestly, she didn't know what his deal was. She'd seen plenty of women get married to fellow werewolves in mini-skirts and hooker heels, by some online-certified priest at a drive-thru window in Nevada... the fact that she had the decency to even show up to something as overdone as this ridiculous ceremony should've said something, since in her opinion, she shouldn't have had to marry at all. She was scowling to herself, she realized, when suddenly she felt Kai take her hand. Loathe to let him continue, she said nothing, wondering if this was some kind of vampire tradition to attempt to entice someone obviously not in their liking -- but when he kissed her, oh! Steffi drew her hand back quicker than a snake, a feral snarl echoing in her throat as she bared her own fangs at him. She knew it must have been a trick of the mind, but the spot on her knuckles where his lips had touched her skin almost burned, searing through her flesh like poison. What the hell was this, anyways?? He wasn't serious, was he?! That disgusting, inhuman... Geez, chillax, it was just a kiss on the hand... if you're like this now, imagine what you're gonna be like when you actually kiss on the LIPS... she thought to herself, turning back to the altar as the priest rose from his spot on the chair. Pull yourself together, girl... daddy said he'd be listening outside, and the second something went wrong, he'd rain all hell on these damn parasites... but the deal was that you had to take this seriously... so get over yourself! There's plenty of booze waiting for you once this is over... IF this ever finishes, that is...

Drinking, amongst a few other things, was one of the many problems that Kai would be dealing with once their marriage was made official. Steffi had spent her life being raised on the road by smoking, gambling hooligans, and it showed in her overall demeanor. Her gait, her physical presence... she was nothing compared to the horde of stuck up snobs watching her back as the Priest began the ceremonial 'Do You, Do You' speech. She didn't look scared -- how could she? She was fearless -- rather, she seemed almost bored as she stood there, waiting for her cue. Life wasn't something to be taken very seriously, a mentality that contributed largely to the fact that the werewolves had never made a name for themselves in the economical sense. They lived in packs, traveled around like vagabonds, and enjoyed life wherever they could. There were a few packs that were stationary; usually they were found in the big city. Steffi was part of a branch of city wolves that had moved out to the Midwest a decade or so ago, when Steffi had just been a pup, only to find themselves locked back in walls, where Vamps seemed to thrive. Steffi sighed inwardly. The fact that Kai was a Vampire notwithstanding, she had never liked the idea of being married. She was a free spirit... and she definitely wouldn't let a bloodsucker govern her lifestyle.

"I do," he said, and Steffi grit her teeth. Right. No backing out now. The priest turned to her.

Perstephone January MacLair," he continued, and Steffi scowled at the use of her full name. Only special people got to call her January... Do you take Kai to be your lawfully wedded husband, in good and in bad, in sickness and in health, to live in the holy state of matrimony? Will you love, honour, comfort, and cherish him from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto him for as long as you both shall live?"

Steffi took a deep breath, keeping her face as serious as possible. "I..." She stopped, suddenly realizing that this was not something she'd be able to say. Suddenly, she chuckled, letting all her breath out at once. Crossing her arms, she looked away, a smirk on her face. "Although I can't guarantee the whole 'honoring' thing... yeah sure, whatever. I'll roll with it." In the distance, her incredibly sensitive hearing picked up the amused hoots and hollers of her brothers and sisters across the street, who'd been listening to the whole thing since it started. The priest looked at her, utterly baffled as a few horrified whispers passed through the crowd behind them.

"Gimme that," Steffi said, grabbing her ring and slipping it onto her own finger. "Now what?"

"U-uh.. well then, Kai, you may... do whatever it is you do..." the priest replied, mopping his brow nervously with a handkerchief as Steffi looked over at her new husband.

"Ha," she said, although it was painfully obvious that she wasn't the least bit amused as she glared straight into his eyes. "If you think my lips are getting anywhere near yours, then you're even crazier than the lunatics in the Peace Council." There was dead silence in the church hall... even the werewolves far away were holding their breath to see what Kai's reaction would be.

Syaoran-Puu
Yes, her middle name is January. Because that's when she was born. And she's a b***h. Get used to it. xD

Kai was less than pleased by Perstephone's 'I do', couldn't she just act normal and less like a brat? Then again, he supposed in comparison she was just a blink of his eyes in term of how much life she had lived, a mere baby. Still, he disliked the mocking tone, would make a note of it.... for later. But as they said, you got more with honey than with vinegar. If she wanted to be acid he would alkali and neutralise her venom. Kai wasn't about to let her irritate him to the point that he lost control of himself, that simply wouldn't do! He had an image and reputation to uphold after all. His face remained stoic, but his hand fisted at the side opposite Perstephone. He would never hit her, would never hit a woman except on the battle field where it was life or death, there gender didn't matter, if they were foolish enough to send she-wolves after him, then he was more than happy to dispose of them.... yet here, was one she-wolf he could not harm, had just bound himself to being faithful and true to her. Bloody dog.

Slipping his own ring upon his long and slender fingers he spent a moment to look at the silver again before dropping it back to his side. He could almost appreciate the beauty of it.

He sent a look to the priest at the guys stumbled response. He was surrounded by incompetence! Had a vampire performed the ceremony they wouldn't have fumbled and missed a step just because the thing had disrupted the flow, composed and dignified, that was how they were.... at least on the outside. Inside Kai was boiling over. His anger only palpable through a flash of moving red within his eyes, so slight you would miss it unless you looked directly into the eerie orbs.

Instead of the 'You may now kiss the bride' that he had been expected he had to indulge the desperation of a ill prepared priest and the mockery of a wolf. Fine, two could play this game.

"If you think my lips are getting anywhere near yours, then you're even crazier than the lunatics in the Peace Council." Kai moved fast, though his touch was remarkably gentle. He used his speed to catch Perstephone off guard, suspecting that she was assumed he wouldn't want to touch her any more than she wanted to be touched, she was right, but he took her words as a dare and would not back down. No words left him as he stole his first proper kiss from his bride, his fingers caressing her chin almost willing her to relax for him. It was no tamed peck that he took, but full on lips, his tongue darting over her lips almost tauntingly, almost enticingly, a hint of what was to come... to prove that he could, that he would... even if he shouldn't. He pulled back before she could come to her senses and bite him, they could have that battle in private after all.... he smirked, his fingers lingering long after his lips had lefts her, and for a moment he simply remained silent until he whispered, his tone purposefully hushed so that only she and perhaps those closest to them could hear. "And if my bride thinks that she can dictate to me she is wrong... I will claim you, as if my right. Remember Perstephone," He purposefully purred out her name again, knowing she was less than pleased at the way he spoke to her. Good, he wanted her angry, wanted her that way so he could remember exactly what she was. A dog, below him, but he would act as otherwise... at least in public. "You just agreed to be faithfully mine." He reminded her on purpose before his hand and eyes tore away from her and he turned to the crowd, his look settled to indifference as he offered his arm to his new wife. "Thank you all for witnessing this...." He wouldn't say joyous occasion, it was far from that. "...ceremony." After all, it was nothing more than that. "Now, shall we all go drink blood and be merry?" Yes, he mentioned blood on purpose, knew it would likely revolt his bride, remind her of exactly what he was. Just like he wanted to remember what she was he wanted her to remember what he was. Blood drinker. Vampire.

"Shall we," He turned to her then, his eyes narrowing slightly in challenge as moved his elbow once in invitation. Would she bite? He almost smirked wondering if she would bite in more way than one.... even if right now he was referring to his challenge.

MitashiUchiha16
Sorry about yesterday, my little boy was ill and they were debating sending him to the hopsital... thankfully he seems to have responded well to the medication so we should be all clear now. =D

There were a hundred words that could describe Steffi's reaction to when Kai kissed her. Mortification. Dismay. Horror. But above all, Steffi was completely and utterly floored. Dumbfounded at the fact that Kai had actually found the gall to come near her, knowing full well that with her newest source of destruction -- her strange, blue-black ring -- she could have killed him in an instant. But as his fingers grazed over her chin, gently, carefully... Steffi felt something unusual come over her, something strangely... complacent. She knew immediately what it was, of course, but that didn't make her any happier about it. Her eyes, so alive and angry a moment ago, began to grow murky and soft as the soul behind them began to quiver. Steffi was terrified, knowing full well that for a long as Kai's lips were on hers... she would be absolutely powerless.

It was a fact that most werewolves left unacknowledged. Not because it wasn't true, but because she-wolves were such a rarity that it never seemed to apply. Steffi had been the first she-wolf in almost a century; the last had been killed by Kai's people before she'd been able to do any real damage. It didn't come as a surprise, really, since every she-wolf in history had always been significantly more hostile towards vampires, almost seeking them out instead of avoiding them, as every good she-wolf should. But the reason for that, as Steffi had long come to realize, was because they always had this horrible habit of falling for the bloodsucking type. Male werewolves, you see, were very in-touch with their animalistic side, whereas she-wolves, in their innate longing for normalcy, tended to be more human than anything else. It was an advantage, to a certain extent, as it contributed to their ability to blend into society better. On the other hand, it was this self-same humanity that had reduced Steffi to her current state; vulnerable, and incredibly susceptible to Kai's every action.

On the inside, of course, she was fuming; there was no doubt about that. Beneath that momentarily docile facade, she was snarling and hissing in anger and frustration. And as he spoke, her inner anger sparked even more, the life slowly returning to her face. However, she said nothing, knowing that it would be better to save her aggression for a more appropriate time... As much as she hated to admit it, she was horribly outnumbered here, and any attempt on Kai's life would leave her blood vessels dry as a bone. She did, however, manage to smirk in reply, and answered, "Forever yours, huh? Well... we'll see how long that lasts, babe," as the couple -- oh dear God! -- turned to face the mass of horrified onlookers. Kai said a few words of thanks, but it was clear that the company's eyes were all glued to her. Steffi felt as though she were in a nightmare -- her body still recovering from its momentary numbness, and surrounded by a hundred red, judgmental eyes. Kai held out his arm and Steffi looked up at him, her eyes accusing, as if to say, Do you honestly think I'd do that after what you just did to me?. On the other hand, she was required to give off an air of normalcy, and it would only be a few more moments before she would be out of that horrible place and back where she belonged... with her people. But, of course... not without putting Kai back in his godforsaken place.

They strolled down the aisle and Steffi fought to keep an indifferent face as the vampires closest to her wrinkled their noses and grimaced. She glared back at them and they retracted, seeming rather afraid. The girl wasn't sure what these parasites had heard about her -- after all, she was a creature of legend -- but as long as they didn't touch her, she could honestly care less. The duo passed through the glass doors, and the minute they stepped out of the sidewalk, Steffi pulled away, on her face a look of utter disgust as she near ran to a group of seven or so ruggedly clad young men, whose coarse white hair and abundance of leather clothing clearly marked them as her brothers. They embraced her tightly, and the oldest even placed a kiss on her forehead before pulling away and wrinkling his nose.

"Geez, Jan... what'd they do, marinate you or somethin'?" he asked, referring to her scent, which no doubt had been drastically altered in the past twenty minutes. Steffi glared at him. "Can it, Fex. I just spent twenty minutes in Bone Paradise with a whole graveyard full of Bloodies, so show some goddamn respect! ...where's Lil'?" Lillith MacLair was a human born into the Werewolf family; she also counted as Perstephone's half-sister, and her closest friend.

"Over at the Pub, where you should be heading now, too," Fex replied with a smirk. "Pops didn't want her anywhere near where the Bloodies could get to her. And besides, we saved up a month's worth of paper for tonight's tab, and we plan on spending every shred of it, so get moving."

"Hang on," Steffi said with a grimace. "As my family, you're gonna have to go meet my husband, maybe put a scratch or two on his bogus ego. And yeah, I'm serious," she added before Fex could protest. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he mumbled out a few colorful words before gesturing for the other boys to follow them. With her pack in tow, Steffi approached Kai, who no doubt would've been conversing with his own followers, and cleared her throat.

"Hey, Kai," she snapped, grabbing his arm and spinning him towards her, the full effect of both her sides now obvious in her eyes. "Time for a meet-n-greet. These are my brothers: Tarp, Luke, Nose, Dantin, Lupus, TJ, and Fex."

"C'mon, sis, my nose is starting to burn from this s**t," TJ complained, scratching behind his ear as she pointed them each out. "I don't wanna waste my life talking to a bunch of Bloodies when we could be having a good time somewhere else." Fex silenced him with a wave of his hand as he cleared his throat, spitting a fat wad of saliva only inches away from Kai's perfectly manicured shoes before pulling a calloused, leathery hand out of his pocket and offering it to Kai. "... a pleasure, Kai," he said sarcastically, him being the most civil out of the group... a trait that unfortunately did not extend to his sister.

Syaoran-Puu
Yeah, I saw your status! My little sister is a little sick, too... we don't think it's anything serious, but she's staying home from daycare anyways. I guess it's the season xD Anyways, I'm glad your baby is feeling better.

"Forever yours, huh? Well... we'll see how long that lasts, babe." Kai didn't react to her words other than inclining his head to her, after all, he had pretty much been thinking the same thing only moments earlier... though he wasn't quite so vulgar as to voice it in public. Whatever, it simply meant he had some house-training to do with his new little bride when they got home. He would not allow her to continually undermined him, continually make a mockery of him.... no, that simply wouldn't do. He would not be insulted so openly by a mere dog.

His eyes continued to shine with challenge despite her look that practically screamed, f*ck you, and of course she eventually relented and accepted his arm. Good, at least it was a start, he mused. Kai was more than aware of his clans eyes upon Perstephone, he had threatened each and every one of them that if they dared to so much as touch her he would rip their hearts from their chest and eat it before beheading them. A kill shot, and one that had surprised them.... but he had given his word to take this seriously, and one thing Kai disliked doing.... was going back on his word. Even if it did mean tieing himself to a bloody dog! The moment they were out of the building Perstephone let go of his arm and ran off, something that annoyed Kai all over again... did she think she could escape him so easily? His eyes followed her for a moment, noticed how she ran to a group of seven men who were clearly her pack. Leather and unruly clothing marked them as wolves. Unsophisticated savages. He actually snarled in their direction, wanting to storm over there and drag Perstephone back just to make a point.... probably would have had his best man not patted him on the back and interrupted his thoughts.

"That was painful... mint?" He offered the thing, from an unopened packet since their kind rarely indulged in eating anything other than blood, that meant the guy had bought them especially with the purpose of offering them to Kai. At Kai's questioning quirked brow the guy continued, "Couldn't believe you actually kissed the dog! What was it like?" The guy chuckled, and for some reason that actually pissed Kai off even more than having kissed her. "I am glad you find this all amusing Taylor. Mock me more and I might just kiss you so you have an indirect kiss from one." Venom actually dripped from his voice, and from the look on Taylor's face Kai knew that this was far from the reaction he had expected.... that went the same for Kai. He never usually lost his cool outside of their realm.... yet here he was, getting worked up over a dog! Maybe it was the memory of her practically melting into his kiss, giving herself over to it in the tender way woman did, that needy and giving way of theirs... and lord help him, but Kai had wanted to take more!

Wisely Taylor dropped the subject, especially when Emillea joined them, as always the woman looked stunning. Spider web patterned stockings and a tight gown of blood red that matched her lipstick, hair impeccable and up in a strange twisted bun that suited her, and delicate eye make up that was more than enticing.... she was exactly the kind of woman that Kai usually ventured to when desire struck, had indeed been with this particular woman on more than one occasion. She leaned forward and placed a kiss upon his cheek, her slender fingers caressing his shoulder even as she spoke in a hushed whisper. "I will always be here if you need a real woman to warm your bed." He was sure she would be, as would many others.... but he had just sworn to be faithful.... and despite it all, he planned to keep his word just as he kept all others. At least until the dog's life ended... which could be arranged if needed.

He was about to reply when he felt someone tug at his shoulder and spin him around. It only worked since he allowed it, not wishing to show his true strength with wolves around... and what do you know, but it was the wolves themselves. The way Perstephone said his name was still like an insult, but he chose to ignore it, knew she was either trying to get a rise from him or trying to act big in front of her brothers. Whatever, he would allow her one pass he supposed. "Perstephone." He said softly, his eyes darting up and down her form for a moment as if to assess that she was still as she had been only moments earlier, only once he was satisfied did he look up at the brothers for this 'meet-n-greet'. Her use of colloquialisms and slang were things he added to his training list.

When the one called TJ spoke Kai narrowed his eyes at the man. Likewise he thought, sure that he would be able to smell wet dog for a long while after this disastrous endeavour... especially since he was actually planning to take one with him! He frowned ever so slightly, aware that his two friend had moved defensively at his rear, just incase. Taking the offered hand without an ounce of fear or hesitation, despite the irritation at purposefully being so close to a dollop of spit, he purposefully gave the hand a hard squeeze, a show of just how easily he could crush the guys hand should he wish it. "Indeed. A pleasure... Fex." His tone upheld his sophisticated aura, but it was far from complimentary. He released the hand suddenly turning to each of the brothers in turn, inclining his head to each and not dropping a single beat as he addressed them each by name. If they thought him to be an arrogant and ignorant man who wouldn't be able to remember their names... they were wrong. "TJ. Lupus. Dantin. Nose. Luke. Tarp." Part of him had to wonder how cruel their parents must be to name one of their children Nose... not that Tarp or TJ were much better. The handshake had revealed one thing, Kai's hands were just as calloused at the wolves.... his human life had seen to that, he had worked hard, and even after becoming a vampire had continue to work... of course, after his change not a single thing had changed about his appearance, no new scars or marks, no matter how many times he was injured or attacked he always healed back to the state he had been. Even his hair remained the same length, cutting it only changed it for a day while it grew back.... he had even lost a limb once, had taken a week and a more than a gallon of blood to regrow the thing, but now it was as it had always been.

Not pausing in the introduction he waved a hand at the two behind him. "My friends." Friends to him were as close as family, after all, all of Kai's natural family were long dead.... though he supposed his blood line had continued in the human world. "Taylor and Emillea."

Emillea didn't miss a beat, sashaying forward in all he sexiness, Kai was more than aware that she had once been a concubine to a rich lord, knew exactly how to catch the eyes of men and keep their attention. "Pleased to meet you gentlemen...." Her eyes darted to the more vocally hostile TJ. "It is traditional when a vampire takes a bride that the two families share.... a drink...." It was clear that she meant 'blood' but was trying to appeal to them. "Will you honour this tradition?" A challenge if Kai had ever heard one, even as she seductively purred and changed her attention to Fex. "My treat for the first round of course." It was then that she turned to look at Kai and winked. "For my old friend." Old. Yes, he was more than aware that he was the oldest here, didn't need Emillea to remind him of that. Still he smirked with mild amusement and offered his elbow automatically to Perstephone, something that had long been inbred into him. "Shall we then?"

Taylor whistled and shook his head before walking to Emillea's side and offering her his elbow, something she took gladly, even as her eyes wandered to Fex once more... from hunger or something else, Kai wasn't sure.

Yeah it is the season. He was born at 31 weeks so his lungs aren't as strong as maybe they would have been (they gave me steroid injections before he was born, especially since he did try being born at 27 weeks gestation).... so yeah, every time he gets a cold his lungs struggle and he gets asthmatic symptoms. He is responding well to the medication though so hopefully we will avoid the hospital this time. We have been lucky I guess, he is a year old and we have only been in hospital once with him.... which was the first time this happened.

By the way, here's a picture of the tavern where the wolves hang out. Not exactly vampire material, but... oh well. x3

Steffi glance over at Emillea quickly, feeling not even the slightest bit intimidated by the woman's obviously tacky, whorish getup. Instead, the look Steffi gave her was almost... pitied, knowing that women like that didn't really have much else to go on except for their looks. And besides, it only took one sniff to determine that the overpowering scent that was radiating off of her was more than death... it was mixed with another smell that forced Steffi to suppress a grin. Sex. Clearly. Geez, she wasn't much more than a backalley whore, was she? No wonder Kai kept her around... he'd need her, the way things were going. Noticing how he kept looking over her, she scowled.

"Geez, will you stop giving me the once-over like I'm some kind of slaughterhouse pig?" she snapped at him, putting her hands on her hips and conjuring a grin from Nose and Tarp. "I know I'm hot but you don't have to make a show about it."

Fex ignored her disgruntled commentary, pushing in front of her to get a closer look at Kai. He had all the appearance of your classic arrogant Bloody... the hair, the eyes, the smell... and his friends definitely proved that he was exactly like any other vampire Fex had ever come across. He was itching to turn, to just rip out the throats of all the Bloodies here, but he knew that doing so would put his sister in a bad position. Withdrawing his hand, he put it back in his pocket, his bare chest gleaming in the evening sunset as he scrutinized Taylor and Emillea. Having always been the observant type, he wasn't as pugnacious as the rest of his siblings, whom he could tell were just as tense as he was. When Emillea strode up, Steffi stepped back out protectively, their similar statures clashing as she glared right into the wench's eyes.

"Nice to meet you," she said coldly, her eyes sharper than daggers. "Now back the f*ck up." It was natural that Steffi would feel this kind of hostility in the presence of so many vampires, but Emillea in particular emitted a bad vibe. Steffi had already brushed her off as a slut but the sultry way she swung her hips in front of the pack just left a sour taste in the she-wolf's mouth. Fex, however, didn't seem the least bit dazed, having absolutely no interest in the woman whatsoever as he nodded towards the others.

"Go on, get to the place. Tell them... we're caught up," he ordered his siblings after Kai's accomplices had introduced themselves, and they all turned to leave, including Steffi. Fex, however, caught her arm and pulled her back. "Where do you think you're goin', Jan?" he asked, his voice stern as he bared his fangs at her. "Show your husband some respect." Steffi growled at him, and for a moment the two wolves faced off, until Fex left his growling sister behind and turned to face Emillea, whose pheromone scent hadn't wavered since she'd first set eyes on him.

"We don't need your money," he said, although his voice was less hostile and more firm, like he was stating a well-known fact. "In fact, we don't even need you. But our tradition's pretty much the same, and since we're gonna be kin now, we might as well start gettin' friendly. So yeah, you're welcome to tag along if you're so eager to get to know our folks... which, by the way... you shouldn't be." He looked at Kai, a small smirk on his lips as he leaned in and said quietly, "You think your new wife is bad now? Wait till you get a load of her once she's had a few shots of whiskey... see you there, dude. We'll be expecting you."

He took a step back, saluting to his sister, who glared daggers at him as he departed in a jog, pausing at the corner of the street, and then continuing after his brothers. The minute they were gone, Steffi lost her submissive persona, although her face looked perfectly calm and placid, with even a hint of a smile on her face as she pushed past Taylor and Kai and stepped up to Emillea, their face much too close for comfort. She smiled gently as she said, "You may be Kai's little sex toy, but my brothers won't be fooled that easily. You're just a whore, and I know that because it takes one to know one. So I'm warning you," she said with a scowl, holding one of her razor sharp nails up to Emillea's chin. "You lay even a single finger on Fex, or TJ, or anyone... and I'll kill you. And I don't care what the consequences are. Because at the the end of the day, you're just another Bloody. And no one really cares about those."

She pulled back, her face stern as she looked at Kai's outstretched arm. She grit her teeth, taking into the coupling gesture as she had before. But this time, she dug her nails into his arm painfully and said quietly, "I don't care if you're sleeping with her. But keep her away from my brothers if you value her life." After that she said nothing, not wanting to continue the conversation any longer.

Irritated was an understatement. He had been nothing but polite in comparison to the dog, yet she continued to bite and bark at him as if he was the one at fault... he actually wanted to drag her some place quite and prove to her exactly who was in charge. What power and control actually meant! Might have too, had her brothers not begun staring at him as if he were their next kill. Blood dogs. Could they not even pretend to hold and ounce of civility? For one day? Was it so much to ask! It wasn't as if Kai had asked for this anymore than they had, yet he seemed to be the only one who was actually upholding the agreement to the letter. Maybe he should rethink keeping his word, since it was becoming clearer and clearer by the second that Perstephone was unlikely to keep hers.... those who said empty vows and made empty promises were the worst as far as Kai was concerned... but maybe that was because just such a incident had lead to his death as a human.... he could still recall that particular pain, so deeply etched into his heart that the scar would never truly heal.

He couldn't help but retort this time, his agitation at once again being made a fool of with a venomous tongue becoming too much to simply ignore. "Perstephone, why should I not appraise the value of my latest property?" The acquisition nature of vampires was legendary, and he played on that now, even as he tore his gaze away from her in time to watch Fex give him a similar appraising look. He would get that a lot tonight, he knew that, but it still grated on his nerves. Especially since the dog actually dared to look down its snout at him! The desire to scent the air and ask which of them had forgotten to bathe was always too tempting to resist, but resist he did.

Emillea wasn't at all phased by the daggers and sharp tongued reply she received, after all, she had received much worst as a human. The three vampires stood stoically, almost like statues, as the wolves decided upon their path and dispersed, of course Kai actually couldn't decide if he respected or hated Fex for talking to his sister like that... he supposed he should be at least a little grateful that the guy was seemingly fighting on his side, at least for a moment. It was probably for that reason that Kai didn't interfere.

"I can only imagine." He said dryly at Fex's taunt, and of course, Kai had NO intention of staying that long, especially not long enough for his new bride to have more than a couple shots of whiskey. It was something that Kai would simply have to put his foot down on, even if he had to toss her over his shoulder and act like the caveman he was sure the wolves all assumed he was. Kai had been watching as Fex jogged to catch up to his siblings that he had missed Perstephone move to stand before Emillea. Of course her words earned her a quirked brow. Kai's little sex toy? Whore? Hmmm..... if it had been anyone other than Emillea, who Kai was more than aware could hold her own, he might had interfered.

As expected Emillea didn't even seem to bat at eyelid as the wolf breathed all over. "Is that meant to offend me? Trust me, I have heard worst.... and it is true, I was a whore. But don't worry pet, I would never touch a dog like that. I was simply wondering what they would taste like before I killed them."

"Emillea...." He hissed in warning, almost too low for anyone but those with sensitive hearing to distinguish.

Emillea didn't seem phased but she dropped her shoulders slightly in acceptance that killing the wolves was off the table. "As for killing me..." She bared her fangs and made a show at snapping towards the hand at her chin. "Bigger and badder have tried and failed." She practically purred as she said, "I would spit you out and remind you just how unfit you are for our clan leader. Little slut. You could never compare. Good luck trying." She added a wink and tugged at Taylor's arm enough to make him start walking. Together the pair headed towards the bar. A moment later Perstephone took his arm, although Kai could tell it was very reluctantly. Didn't matter, at least she was pretending to do her part at least. When sharp nails dug into flesh he looked down in mild amusement. A dog with claws? Maybe he had really snagged himself a kitten?

Her words surprised him a little but all he said in reply was the truth. "I gave my word to be faithful to you. I keep my word Perstephone." Raw honesty flooded his voice, his red eyes turning to focus boldly on her much brighter blue. "As for keeping her anywhere.... Emillea is her own master. She shall not touch your brothers. I have ordered all in my clan not to touch the wolves this night. The penalty for disobeying me is death." He said simply. Allowing the silence to wash over them as he lead with an easy gait towards the pub.

The place was.... odd, but what he would have expected from wolves. Rowdy and loud, unsophisticated and unpolished. Still, Kai refused to be intimidated by the place, would not drop a beat..... he couldn't, his pride wouldn't allow him. Which was why he held his head up high as he lead them in, the wolves glared at him, many openly showing him disdain and distrust before looking at Perstephone as if checking he hadn't harmed their precious flower. As if it would do so so soon! He was no fool!

"Taylor." He said softly, the other vampire appearing at his side instantly while Emillea worked her way through the pub to check for anyone none wolf that they might be able to drink from. The place that Kai had picked for the venue had been stocked with a vat of blood.... a vat it seemed he would not be tapping into this eve, that was fine, unlike Taylor and Emillea he didn't need to feed that often, his age allowing him to go weeks without fresh blood in his system, of course, regular feeding did make him stronger, and right now some added strength was likely advised. "No wolves." He hissed at him, his eyes flashing with his order before he allowed his eyes to gaze at the almost quaintly decorated place.... "Humans are.... fair game." He frowned, "but it might be better for you and Emillea to return to our party to feed." Taylor nodded but stayed beside Kai.

Done he lead Perstephone over to the bar, his eyes darting to the bartender... wolf. He should have suspected. "What would you like Perstephone?" His eyes looked at her for a moment, his red eyes almost assessing her. "Or shall I simply order you the whiskey your brother warned me about?" He found he was actually teasing her, though only lightly.

The barkeeper clearly didn't like that Kai was here, and Kai couldn't help but think that the feeling was mutual. He knew it was too much to hope that they would have blood on tap, and so he never even bothered to ask. Instead he decided to show a flash of humour. "A glass of red wine. Please. And whatever my wife..." He purposefully called her that, claiming her as such in front of her kin. It didn't scare him to be in a hole with so many wolves. He had been surrounded more than once in the past. "...would like. Thank you." Slipping his free hand into his inside breast pocket he pulled out his wallet.

Perstephone contemplated the nature of Kai's words as they made their way towards the pub where she knew her family would be waiting. Although she doubted Kai would experience the same harrowing fear that she had in the church at the prospect of being surrounded by so many wolves, she still felt a sense of relief as they approached the familiar doorway and made their way inside. Although the wolves present didn't make it as obvious as the Bloodies in the church had, it was clear that they were all observing the Vampires as they entered, Perstephone in tow. Steffi let go of Kai as soon as she was able to, and immediately was greeted by a few hoots and hollers from other wolves she knew. They were jeering at her, teasing her like it was some kind of a game she'd lost. She glared at them and they began to laugh as one older-looking wolf about Fex's age approached her with a smirk.

"I was wondering when you'd show up, though I didn't think you'd be bringing them along," he said, ruffling her white hair. "But don't worry... Fex told us not to give you any whiskey, but I don't think Mike's gonna listen." Steffi nodded at them as Kai and his cronies discussed something privately. Looking at her friend, they exchanged an unspoken nod, a clear sign that the wolves, at least, wouldn't be causing any problems tonight. It was tense, but acceptable, Steffi figured, since there had to be at least one night after this where there wouldn't be any fighting. "No Bloodies," she said quickly. "Three of 'em are here, and three of 'em are gonna leave, kapish?"

"Yeah, yeah, Gramps already gave us the whole spiel," he answered, pushing her in the direction of the bar. "Now get over there and join your man... I think he's waiting for you. Oh, and... Bret's got it out for you, so... be careful."

Great, another idiot I have to deal with, Steffi thought with an irritated frown as she joined Kai at the bar. I just hope that doesn't mean... The bartender said nothing, only looking at Steffi with a raised eyebrow. Steffi just shook her head at him -- when it came to wolves, they tended not to talk much in the presence of strangers. The bartender answered with a quick nick of his head as Kai made his little play, and scowled.

"Sorry, we don't serve wine here," he said, his voice husky as he polished what was obviously a wine glass. "This is a tavern, not a fancy Italian restaurant. If you want that stuff then you'll have to head out somewhere else." He looked at Steffi. "How about you? The usual?"

"Sorry, but the usual won't cut it today, Mike," Steffi answered with a tired sigh. Suddenly, she sensed someone behind her and turned around, the scent familiar in her nose and filling her with a sense of dread. "Lillith!" she said with a dismayed look on her face. Lillith MacLair, eighteen year-old human, stood there with a slightly terrified look on her face as she mustered a shaky smile in Kai's direction. Steffi looked first at her, then at Kai, and then back at her before looking at the bartender and flicking her finger in the direction of the tap. "Long Island Ice Tea, straight, and double it up with a shot or two of that stuff I had after grandma's death," she ordered, before sliding off her bar stool and disappearing with Lillith into the crowd.

"What the hell are you doing here??" Steffi hissed, and her little sister shrunk visibly. "This place is crawling with Bloodies, Lil'! Do you have any idea what they do to little girls like you??"

"But I had to see you!" Lillith insisted. "It's your wedding day! And besides..." She trailed off, looking over Steffi's shoulder at Kai. She turned red. "I... wanted to see one. You know. A real Vampire."

"Well, there's one over there," she said, referring to Kai. She pointed at Taylor, and then at Emillea, who wouldn't be finding much success on her attempt to find a food source, since everyone here except Lillith was a wolf. "And there's another one, and another one... and if I catch you near any of them, I'm calling Pops. Speaking of which, where is he?"

Lillith shrugged, and Steffi looked over her shoulder at the crowd, and then back at her sister. "Go home," she ordered. "Now." Shaking her head and leaving her sister to her own devices, Steffi was about to head back to the bar when she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist tightly. Turning around in irritation, she saw the handsome face of one of her former friends, a husky blond werewolf named Bret, grinning at her over her shoulder. Pulling away with a look of disgust on her face, Steffi scowled at him.

"Hey..." he said with a small wave and a malicious grin. "Heard you got hitched... so, what's he like? Did you get a load of those fangs yet? Hang on, lemme check your neck."

"You're disgusting, Bret," Steffi growled, extending her fangs. "I'll never get what Lillith sees in you... you're nothing but a freakin' savage. Now leave me alone before that pretty face of yours ends up against the wall." Bret was a particularly painful side of her; a relentless cheater, he was not something anyone should aspire to be. And yet, Lillith clung to him like a child to its mother. It had never come out, but Steffi had done her fair share of naughty things with Bret when she'd been down, and she was almost certain that the reason he was talking to her was not to congratulate her on her new husband. She scowled at him. "I'm not interested in you anymore. Those days are over."

"Who are you trying to convince?" Bret called after her as Steffi headed back towards the bar, where her ice tea was waiting. Sliding in next to Kai, she sighed heavily and said to him, "I wanna go home..."

"Now, now, sweetheart, let's not get ahead of herself... you just got here!"

Steffi whirled around in excitement, her face brightening exponentially as she saw who was there.

"Daddy!" she said excitedly, almost tripping over herself to hug him. Tall and built like a wardrobe, Allister MacLair was pushing one-hundred years, although he looked to be about half that old. Holding his daughter close to his body, he offered Kai a small nod of acknowledgement. They'd met before; there was no need for introduction.

Kai felt the hair at the back of his neck stand to attention, even as he spoke quietly with Taylor. So many wolves in the same place was far from appealing, especially when many were looking their way, not that he worried he wouldn't be leaving this place... he would... even if he had to drag a wolf or two with him! He had allowed Perstephone to go, not wishing to appear as if he was trying to chain her too him.... after all, at a normal wedding you would expect the bride and groom to mingle separately, of course, you would also expect both parties to be fully present in one place, and to have attended the wedding.... these wolves had attempted to embarrass him by doing just the opposite.

That was the thought that crossed his mind even as he watched the barkeeper and Perstephone communicate silently, damn dogs! "Archaic establishment," he hissed under his breath, even the most unsophisticated of places served wine these days! It was likely either Wolves were simply so uneducated that the idea of going anywhere near wine was as menacing to them as waking up in a vampire cove, or the barkeeper was simply reluctant to serve him. Fine! He would have something more barbarian to drink.... "Very well," He said smoothly, acting as if he wasn't at all phased or offended by the tone and taunt. No, this was no fancy Italian bistro. Far from it. "Whiskey. On the rocks. I presume you at least carry hard liquor?" Challenge in his eyes even as he heard Perstephone begin to speak. Whatever the 'usual' was, was likely something Kai wanted to avoid storing at home to avoid his little bride from constantly being blitzed out of her brains and in a stupor as a way to escape him. There would be no escaping him.

He turned, noticing the dread that flashed across her face even as she spoke the... he sniffed... human?...name. "Lillith!" His eyes darted to Taylor just in time to see that he too had located the scent of the only human in the place. It brought forth a question.... why was their a human here? A human who very clearly had a connection with Perstephone? All he could do was watch as she slipped away with the girl, clearly not wanting him anywhere near her... as if he would touch her! He rolled his eyes and practically glared at the barkeeper who held out his hand as if he clearly didn't trust the honesty of vampires. Mutual.... he thought, even as he opened his wallet and took out one of his notes.

Kai held himself with an air of sophistication even as Emillea approached and frowned at the drink he was currently holding. The ice melting almost instantly under the heat of his touch while his eyes watched possessively after Perstephone. "Why are you acting as if you have actually married her?" She asked, leaning close to keep the conversation private, though Kai was aware that the barkeeper was straining to listen. Fine, let him. Kai had nothing to hide. "Because, as it currently stands Emillea... I have married her." He shot the vampire female a warning look before tearing his eyes away again in time to see a male wolf with his filthy paws all over what was now his.... he actually growled. The possessiveness an automatic response that he couldn't seem to hold back. Emillea placed a hand on his shoulder, obviously trying to restrain him. "Not here... control yourself Kai."

He did, though it took physical effort to tear his gaze away, a gaze that fell upon Taylor as he aptly made his way towards the little human who was currently alone, despite being surrounded by wolves. While he couldn't pick out Taylor's voice above the drone of voices in the place he was more than proficient in reading the guys lips. "My, my...." Taylor took the young females hand, kissing the knuckles tenderly, the look in his eyes scorching. "What a delicate flower I have discovered among the boisterous wolves..." He grinned, all charm and elegance, confidence and full of sexual promise.... and Kai had to admit it was rather amusing and distracting to watch the man at work. "May I ask your name?"

With a shake of his head he turned away, sure that whatever happened Taylor would be fine. Kai finally took the first swig of his now warm whiskey. Turned and leaned on the bar since he refused to sit down in the place, just then Perstephone came back. "I wanna go home...." Sweeter words she could not have said, especially since he was beyond bored with being in such a place. Of course, before he had a chance to agree a familiar voice called to her from behind them... her father. Kai knew it even before she turned and squealed his name excitedly. Still he turned to spy the aging wolf as he took his daughter into his embrace. Kai was more than aware that Perstephone was rare even among the wolves, one of the few she-wolves to have been born in a very long time. Precious and valuable even among their own kind, it made him wonder why she wasn't being used for breeding? To ensure that the pure blooded nature of their kind continued... rather than being offered up into a marriage in the name of peace? Surely a marriage between a female vampire and a male werewolf would have been just as effective? Maybe not.... as he looked around, he couldn't imagine any female willingly putting up with any of the brutes here, nor would Kai wish that upon any of them. With a nod he returned the acknowledgment. "Allister." He said, his tone soft but strong, before he sipped from his glass once more. "Can I get you drink?"

Kai was aware that Emillea shifted awkwardly beside him, knew also that she had a hatred of Allister MacLair... not that he knew why, he had never cared to ask. Still her frustration was obvious to him. He glanced at her, willing her to still or leave and gather her senses. She chose to leave, her body moving with a fluid grace as she wandered towards Taylor. Good, at least she was not fool enough to walk the streets alone. Not with so many wolves around. He knew she had faced them just as often and as hard as any vampire had, and the fact that she was still here after four hundred and twenty six years as a vampire was a testament to her strength, not that it even began to compare to Kai's age... then again, few did.

His gaze turned back to the wolf before him once more, and his dishonour from early came flooding back, to the point that he found himself speaking once more. "I will admit I was surprised you were not there earlier... giving your daughter away and all that." He sipped again, he was more than aware of why the wolves hadn't shown up, but that didn't mean that Kai would simply let it lie and ignore it. "A shame. It was a beautiful ceremony." He smirked, even as he took a sip of his whiskey again. "You even missed me kissing your daughter." Yeah, he knew he was intentionally prodding a beast, that was the point. He was fed up of being the only one who was being shamed by this event. Stubborn pride of wolves was not enough for them to simply brush him off as unimportant... not when Kai had done everything he had to ensure that the Vampires took this as seriously as he was. "Never mind." He said softly, an elegant roll of his shoulders, another sip of his drink. He pushed off the bar then, his body moving gracefully as he walked past the pair. "Please excuse me... I do believe I am needed before my friend decides to go... dental... on your little human pet." Dental, their little amusing pet name for the bite.

He walked past them then, walked straight to Taylor and Emillea as they spoke with Lillith. He took the girls hand, just as Taylor had done and kissed it softly, getting a scent of her delicate blood... a virgin? She smelt surprising pure and fresh. "Lillith, I presume." It was only that he turned to Taylor and shook his head softly. His eyes widened and he looked back at the girl and then back at him, speaking under his breath, so low that Lillith's human hearing wouldn't be able to pick it up. "But she's human?" Yes, that was true. Speaking in the same low tone Kai replied. "Indeed. She also has an affiliation with these wolves, it was clear my bride knew her.... so, unless Lillith agree's to your bite, you are not to bite her. Do you understand? If she does, I will stand by my word that humans are fair game." He heard Taylor growl, could see the need warring with the indecision, coupled with the desire and compulsion to follow Kai's order. "Understood." He finally said, earning a nod and a smile from Kai, knowing full well that Taylor wouldn't act unless the female agreed, "good." He said, just as a hand grabbed his shoulder and pulled him backwards. His head snapped to the attacker, red eyes sharp and shining with menace and intent even as he watched the wolf back up. "Sorry buddy! Just wanta ta see ta man tat our little Steffi was gonna be stuck wiv!" Kai brushed his shoulder, as if to dislodge any contamination that may have occurred from the brief contact. "Indeed." He said, his voice full of menace and a promise of violence if they so much as looked at him wrong. "Now that you have seen, I shall take my leave. Enjoy your evening... gentleman." He grated out the last word, almost offending himself at using the polite term to address such vulgar and boarish wolves.

Yes, Kai was very much ready to go home.....

Oh man, Taylor... big mistake... xD

Lillith had just been in the process of attempting to find her boyfriend, Bret, when she was approached by a dashing young man who clearly did not belong in the rowdy, malodorous tavern. Shrinking back from his piercing red gaze, she held her hands up to her chest protectively as he reached for her, taking her hand and placing a kiss there. She turned away, looking desperately for someone to save her but finding that Bret was nowhere in sight, and her sister was much too distracted by her father to notice anything at all. As the man who was obviously a vampire took her hand and placed a kiss there, she felt her body growing warm as her eyes drifted over is handsome getup. Really, men like that weren't her style -- after all, her boyfriend was a werewolf of the most brutish sort -- but she felt drawn to him... a trait that she was sure came from the fact that he was a vampire.

"Oh... thank you, Sir... she said modestly. "As for my name... well, they call me Lillith... Lillith MacLair..." She was stammering, her head spinning under his intense gaze. He really was a beautiful creature; Lillith had always found herself fascinated with Bloodies, although even mentioning them was taboo. Having been protected because of her inability to turn, Lil had never really been exposed to those things. And now, standing here, facing a fully grown and highly-experienced vampire, well... It was all she could do to fight the temptation. She was sympathetic to them, this much was true; but to show it would surely mean she'd never see the light of day again.

Meanwhile, Steffi had withdrawn from her father and was standing behind him, watching Emillea with smug interest. There was something about them that sparked, this much was clear, and Steffi couldn't quite determine what it was, but it obviously bothered her, and Steffi loved it. Honestly, the girl didn't know much about her father -- he was a very secretive man, much like her new husband -- but one thing was for certain: he knew how to act around Vampires. Unlike most of the younger wolves, Allister was more refined and serious; not half as carefree as the other wolves, he took his position very seriously, and had been present at the drafting of the agreement that had led to this situation to begin with. When Kai mentioned his absence at the ceremony, he nodded once. "Yes, regrettably I was unable to attend, but... as I see, everything has gone well. My son, Fex, told me most of the details... and I'm sure Perstephone won't hesitate to fill in the gaps. But as you probably know... the stink doesn't wash out easily." His words were clipped, proper... very unlike the rest of his family, but that's what set him apart as their leader... his ability to communicate with others properly, without the use of violence. His son took after him, it was obvious, although Allister was by far the most powerful wolf the world had seen since his birth... a trait that reflected in his daughter. Perstephone downed the rest of her ice tea and shut her eyes, already feeling the double shot of moonshine kicking in as her head began to spin. Opening her eyes as Kai departed, she tugged on her father's black dress shirt and asked, "Daddy... can I have another one...?"

"I don't think that's a good idea, sweetheart," he answered, pointing to where Lillith was staring at her sudden companions with bewilderment and fear. "You haven't even noticed that your sister is in danger..."

Steffi gasped, dropping the glass onto the floor and not even noticing as it shattered at her feet. A snarl echoed in her throat -- deeper, more deadly than ever before -- as her pupils yellowed and began to narrow into slits. With a heaving leap that sent her sailing over the crowd in a shocking display of acrobatics, she skidded to a halt between her sister, who stepped back with a yelp, and what she viewed as her assailants, who were likely staring at her with equal shock. Her fangs protruding dangerously over her lower lip and her claws extending far past the natural reach of her nails, she let out an ear-splitting roar that shook the walls of the establishment and silenced everyone in the room. By the back walls, Fex, Nose, and Tarp stepped forward, although their purpose wasn't to defend their sister... no, it would take all three of the powerful men to restrain her should she decide to attack.

"Oh my God! Jan, please, nothing ha--"

Without a word, Steffi turned around and slapped the back of her hand across her sister's face. "I told you to stay AWAY from them!!" she screamed, and right then, Fex commanded the boys to go. Steffi grabbed Taylor's collar and lifted him straightaways off the ground, pinning him against the wall and growling her fangs in his face. "You b*****d..." she whispered. "Messing with my sister was a big mistake..." Suddenly, she was yanked back by the powerful hands of her brothers and flung to the other end of the tavern, crashing through a few tables in the process as the boys ran over to her and held her down. Meanwhile, Bret walked over to the likely embarrassed Kai and, crossing his arms, said, "Sexy, ain't it? I'd be jealous, except... I don't think I'll be waiting longer than a week." With a smirk, he turned on his heels and grabbed Lillith, whose lip was swelling a considerable amount, before departing quickly.

On the other side of the tavern Allister finally lifted himself from the chair where he'd been watching the spectacle with a disapproving frown, and headed over to his kicking and screaming daughter, who was going on and on about 'killing me some f*cking Bloodies'. Drawing her up as easily as though she were a human, he back-handed her across the face, and she slumped against the wall as the moonshine faded her into her stupor. "Get up, you're embarrassing me," he said, and Steffi did what she was told obediently, the makings of a fine welt on her cheek. Allister led her past the amused onlookers, and her brothers, and the Bloodies, before presenting her disheveled and obviously intoxicated figure to her husband.

"Here," he said with a scowl. "She's your problem now. Now leave, before your vampire friends get the smart idea to mess with my daughter again."

"The stink doesn't wash out easily." He smirked at that, adding a soft. "I am sure the Vampires appreciate your concern for them." He was clearly playing Allister's words against him, but right now he couldn't muster the strength to care as he continued towards his friend....

...Kai was just about to make his way back to the bar after sorting Taylor out, to get another drink or to demand that they leave he hadn't yet decided, but the decision was seemingly made for him when the little show unfolded. Soon Perstephone had Taylor around the collar, and from the way the guy was holding himself it was clear he was trying hard to resist the urge to punch the woman, or scratch her filthy paws off him. His red eyes even flashed to Kai as if seeking permission to be freed from his vow... the threat of possible death at the hands of the wolf not enough to move him to act when the threat of actual death lingered over him should he simply touch the wolf..... no, Kai couldn't give him permission, but he damn well could drag the she-wolf from here kicking and screaming if he needed.

Kai was too pissed off to actually be embarrassed in that moment, though it would come later, right now all he could think was -was she a complete idiot to do this? Seriously? Had he just married a hill-billy without a single brain cell to spare beyond her monkey impersonation? He actually growled, taking a step forward to act just when the blond wolf who had had his paws all over Perstephone earlier showed up.... his eyes narrowed, taking the words for the threat and the taunt they were meant to be, and goddamn it but they inflamed his angered even more. So she was an easy woman after all? One who had likely expressed a intent to return to her wolf brethren's beds before long. He actually wanted to punch the guy, might have had it not meant that both halves of this supposed marriage had gone insane and cracked on the same night. Red eyes returned to Perstephone just as she was dragged off by three brutes, and right now he couldn't bring himself to care what they did with her.... instead he approached Taylor, noticing blood around his shirt collar. His eyes flashed with the liquid red running through them again, bringing his own hand to his lips he bit on his finger and offered it to Taylor, who licked greedily at the offering. Instantly the small claw marks healed up, having not been too deep, once satisfied he withdrew his hand and licked his own wound shut. Not only had Perstephone embarrassed them with her behaviour but she had caused Kai to spill his own blood in the presence of wolves... and what if she had accidently struck Taylor with her new ring? Lord help him, but he was going to have this out with her when they were in private! It was beyond unacceptable!

He stood straight, turning to Emillea and saying swiftly, his tone sharp. "Take him away from here. I want you both to go and drink. Avoid all wolves for the rest of the night...." He actually flashed his fangs, his frustration obvious. "...not a word of this." The pair nodded, Emillea offered her shoulder to Taylor who was still spluttering a little from lack of air and not fighting back... at least he was still alive. If she had picked any other vampire as her target they very well might have a war on their hands, perhaps he should have prayed for that, especially since it wouldn't have been Kai's fault at all... the wolves would have been completely to blame! Yet full out war was still something he wanted to avoid.

Straightening himself up, he took a moment to regain his composure, all the wolves seemed to shrink away from him, obviously sensing that he was not to be messed with right now. Red eyes flashed towards Perstephone and Allister in time to see the guy slap his daughter, obviously trying to force her back to her senses. Usually Kai was completely against violence against woman.... but right now, well, he couldn't pretend to care about the dog when one of his own brethren had been injured for no reason, after all, Taylor hadn't actually done anything beyond converse with the human. All too soon Perstephone was being dragged towards him, dishevelled and intoxicated, obviously completely out of her mind and behaving like an unruly and out of control teenager. He actually bit his lip as Allister thrust her towards him, and only reluctantly brought his hand up to place it on her arm, his nails digging in slightly, a warning not to bother trying to escape. The mood he was in he would likely break her arm without a second thought. "So generous." He hissed, his voice low even as he narrowed them, took a breath and forced himself to regain control. "I at least assume her things are in my care as instructed? If so.... I will be taking my... wife..." Venom dripped from his lips as he said wife, clearly showing his current dislike for the situation. An uncouthed and unruly female was far from Kai's ideal female! "...home." With that he turned, his grip unmoving as he steered Perstephone out of the bar and towards his car.

It wasn't a long walk, but it seemed much longer given the silent fuming that Kai was currently brooding over. She was drunk out of her skull, clearly unable to handle her alcohol and yet she had done so an embarrassed him, embarrassed herself! GAH! The fates had to hate him for this, he was sure that little b*tch of a witch on the Peace Council was laughing at him right now, more than aware of what Perstephone was like! He had assured them that he could handle any dog that they tossed at him, but clearly he was about to have his hands full with this one. She would not be leaving his house unaccompanied, and even then that wouldn't be happening unless he felt he could actually trust her. Which was... doubtful at best, impossible at worst.

He was as silent in his car as he had been walking, dumping Perstephone in the passenger side before walking around to his own. Hands on the steering wheel he looked over her, a flash of destain laced upon his face before it disappeared back to the stoic expression he often wore.

It was only when they got closer to his home that he finally said anything. "I don't know what you're playing at.... but you're an idiot Perstephone!" His tone spoke of exactly how pissed off he was right now, of exactly how unmoving in this he would be... he would not be argued with right now. The river of red continued to move in his eyes, and for the first time in centuries he actually felt his control slipping. He pressed the gadget on his keys to open the gates, the things moving to life before he drove into the luxury grounds of his home. The double gates of security doing nothing to calm his nerves. Parked up, he gracefully slid out of the car, looking down at Perstephone. "I recommend you come in and get some sleep.... we have much to discuss on the morrow wife." Again he said the title with laced venom.

He turned to the boot, popping it open and taking out the two heavy suitcases as if they were nothing but pillows before marching with purpose to his home, he was uncaring if Perstephone followed right now, sure that either way she would be going nowhere. His home was like a fortress, the alarms wired to tell him of people moving in and out of the compound. No, she would not escape him.

In the house he dumped her bags by the door, before removing his jacket and hanging it, and undoing the cufflinks from his shirt and placing them in the bowl with his keys. His mind was churning with exactly what he wanted to say to his little wolf, of exactly what he wanted to do to her... the training list was getting longer and longer by the second! But he would not start while she was in such a rank state, no, he would wait until there could be no miscommunication.... and he would also not be touching her this eve, their marriage would simply remain unconsummated until she was more sober and could not claim rape against him. On top of everything else he would not accept more poison from her lips!

Despite the sun still being down Kai found himself feeling exhausted..... blood, he really wanted blood. The stuff would at least give him the strength and distraction not to slice open his brides throat. It would be so much better tapped from the source but right now he was willing to accepted a cold bag. Wandering to the kitchen he opened the older of the two fridges, the newest one an addition made in preparation for his bride, the thing stuffed with food that she would keep her strong and healthy.... why the hell had he bothered? He shook his head and open his own fridge to reveal his blood bags. Taking one out he didn't even faint an air of civility as he bit straight into the blood bag and drank the contents dry, normally he would use a glass, but right now... well, he was simply in need of the blood. It raced and coursed through his body like the spark of a battery, offering him an instant recharge.... even as his red angry eyes darted to the front door.

G'morning! Haha x3 Oh, and btw... timeskip after this? To morning?

"...F*cking Bloodies... f*cking trying to mess with my sister, f*cking pieces of sh*t... I'll f*cking kill every single one of them with my bare f*cking hands if I have to, God DAMN it... can"t deal with this sh*t, and that f*cking b*tch Emillea... I'll have her f*cking head on my wall once this sh*t is over... and that c*nt witch on the Peace Council, motherf*cker..." It didn't seem like Perstephone's rants were anywhere near an end as she was shoved roughly into the car, her face contorted in agony as she held her right cheek. Fex and Allister watched her depart with firm eyes, and Fex even went so far as to shake his head in disappointment. His sister had always been a troubled one, that much was certain, and he had hoped that this wedding would help to control her a little... the way things were going, it seemed almost as though things had gotten worse. The son and the father exchanged a look and nodded, before heading inside to survey the damage.

//

Case of Perstephone January MacLair versus the Glen Cove Wizard House, you may proceed...

Steffi looked around, shifting uncomfortably in her tight black skirt and white blouse as she stared at the angry faces of the wizards whose establishment she had destroyed in another one of her outbursts. They glared at her as the head witch, Gilda, took the podium and looked down at the accused.

"Here again, Perstephone?" she asked, shaking her head in pity and adjusting her glasses. "This is the third time this month I've seen you. Why don't we skip the hoopla and just cut to your punishment, then? Jury, have you reached a decision?"

"That girl's a menace!"
"She's too dangerous to be around others!"
"Put her in the Netherworld and get it over with!!"

The accusations stung like acid as Gilda looked towards Allister, who once again was there to defend his only duaghter. "Your Honor," he said quietly. "I'm... sure Perstephone feels remorse for her actions..."

"Allister, your girl is proving to be the most dangerous she-wolf this world has ever seen," Gilda said with a frown. "Not only is she powerful, but she has outbursts, temper tantrums, can't control her transformations, consistently refuses to visit a rehabilitation clinic for her alcoholism, and refuses to abide by any of the rules established by the Peace Council! The only thing she seems to be good at is hard labor, since she's had enough practice from the sentences she's racked up here!"

"Your Honor, I'm sure that with a little time, she can learn enough self-control to--"

"Self-control?" Gilda asked in disbelief, adjusting her glasses. "Allister, what that girl needs is a LEASH, and a rather short one at that. We can't just have her... gallivanting around like the the world is her chew toy!"

"... of course," Allister replied, casting a stern glance in Steffi's direction. The girl flinched, looking at her worn out ballerina flats and wishing the earth would swallow her up. She could take yelling, even a thrashing, but nothing compared to when her father gave her that disappointed look. She felt almost as though she had betrayed her pack... again... but sometimes, she just couldn't help herself.

"Not to mention the cost of the damage that will need to be covered," Gilda added, eying him warily. Everyone in the courtroom knew that Perstephone's antics had rendered werewolves all over the country virtually broke, so she was interested to see what sort of compensation Allister would find this time.

"My... sons will help to repair the damage," he answered after a moment, looking over at Fex. The young wolf nodded solemnly, having already suspected that the family would have to cover the damage in some other way. The other MacLair brothers only shot bullets at Perstephone's head; werewolves may have been the best physical laborers known to man, but they still didn't like working for free. Steffi could feel their eyes on her and she shrunk even more as the verdict was settled.

"Very well then," Gilda said, hammering onto her podium. "The verdict has been settled. The MacLair brothers will rebuild the Glen Cove Wizard House free of charge, and as for Perstephone..." She trailed off, the tone of her voice making it clear that this matter was far from over. "... your punishment will be discussed next week at the international drafting of the Lycan/Sanguine Peace Accord. After all, you ARE a considerable threat to the Vampires, so it's only fitting that the Vampires should decide what to do with you."

Steffi looked up in dismay, her eyes glistening with tears. "But your Honor, I--!!"

"I don't want to hear it, Perstephone,"
Gilda replied, as though chiding a small child. "Your powers are a danger to all of us until you can learn to control them. If that day should ever come, the Peace Council may consider lifting your punishment. But until your verdict is decided, I am revoking your right to transform, is that clear? If you're caught, it'll get you a one-way ticket to the Netherworld, understood?"

Steffi scowled at the wooden floorboards. "... crystal, your Honor."

Gilda huffed in satisfaction. "Alright then. Allister, you may take your daughter home... Fex, I'd like you to see me for a moment, and the rest of you can go about your business. Court adjourned."

//

"I don't know what you're playing at.... but you're an idiot Perstephone!"

Steffi couldn't even hear Kai's angry outburst as she leaned petulantly against the window, the memory of the trial torn open again like a flesh wound. Too tired to retort with her usual candor, she said nothing, a numb expression on her face as she realized that she'd messed up. Again, she reminded herself. Her head spun as she thought about the lashing she'd get from both her father and Fex, who no doubt wouldn't forgive her for her embarrassing show for a long while. You had one job! she could picture him saying as he stormed furiously about his apartment. One job, and you blew it! Why can't you ever get anything right, Jan? I know you don't care, but thing about what would happen to us if a war broke out...!!

Clenching her teeth as they pulled into the driveway, she heard Kai's angry suggestion and snapped her head up to look at him. "Don't tell me what to do," she hissed, although it lacked her usual anger now that she was teetering on the edge of sleep. He headed inside, but instead of following him, Steffi took a moment to observe the grandeur in which she would be spending however many more years there were to come. She frowned. What a beautiful prison... she thought, removing her heeled shoes and stepping her bare feet onto the cold gravel.

As she walked slowly up the driveway, counting the stars in her head in an attempt to stay upright, she realized with a start that this house was bigger than all of the cars, trucks, and apartments she'd ever resided in put together. There were trees behind the house, trees that led to forest, which led to freedom from prying eyes while she hunted... not that she needed to hunt, since she was perfectly satisfied with human food, but hunting was one of the very few activities that she actually found enjoyment in. She was tempted to go right now, actually -- to sleep off the moonshine Mike had slipped her, beneath the silent shadow of a pine tree -- but she knew she'd only be causing herself more aggravation by doing so... so she sighed, and opened the front door, her right hand lifting to her face once more as the painful reminder of her disobedience began to ache anew. Seeing her bags by the door, she had a revelation that Kai would find most unfortunate.

Opening the larger of the two, she reached inside of one of her shirts and pulled out an unopened bottle of Bacardi, which she unscrewed and promptly proceeded to half empty. Pulling the bottle away from her lips with a sigh, she staggered over to the kitchen, her hair a disheveled mess as she was greeted with the revolting sight off Kai imbibing -- could it be? -- bagged blood.

"You think you're so perfect," she sneered as she took another long swig. "You with your perfect house and your... perfect friends, your perfect body, your... perfect life, well... some of us aren't that lucky, you know." She suppressed a loud belch, squelching it with another long drink, her eyes filed with murderous intent should Kai try to take it from her in any way. Her vision was beginning to blur as her abnormally quick heartbeat -- a normal trait of a werewolf -- saw to it that the alcohol was pumped through her body quicker than she could drink it. She scowled at him. "I bet that when you turned, you turned willingly, am I right? Yeah." She didn't even give him a chance to answer as she put her slinky stilettos onto the counter-top. Suddenly, she looked at him, her face decorated with a drunken smirk. "Too bad for you... I don't die of alcohol poisoning." She shook the near-empty bottle, as if to prove her point, before turning to go. Barely managing to cross the hall to the living room, Steffi let out a frustrated sigh as she fell onto the couch and stretched out lazily, contemplating the few contents that were left in the Bacardi bottle. Leaning against a cushion, she was asleep before she could so much as lift the bottle back up to her still flawlessly crimson lips.

Kai had let her rant, hadn't wanted to completely lose his cool. Of course, his hands had fisted at the mention of Emillea and wanting her head on the wall. The rest he couldn't care about, and not because he had feelings for the other Vampire but simply because she had done nothing to earn Perstephone's obvious wrath, and Kai wouldn't allow it argued differently. Unlike Perstephone, Emillea hadn't touched or struck or made a fool of herself in front of others, even if her particular brand of introduction hadn't been received well. No, Perstephone was a beast, a true untrained dog.... exactly the kind that Kai hated.

-----------------------

When they arrived home Kai completely ignored Perstephone's hissed reply not to tell her what to do. If she wanted to act like a child he would treat her as one, end of story. He would not argue or be questioned, not tonight. No, tonight he had had more than his fill of his new dog bride, was wondering if he had bitten off more than he could chew in this little endeavour... still, he wouldn't back down yet, his stubborn pride wouldn't allow him to just give up out of the starting gate.... plus, he wouldn't be the one to break the treaty and destroy what little peace currently stood between the factions. But Christ.... he needed a medal for this!

All Kai did when Perstephone entered the kitchen with her high scented alcohol was frown... where the hell had she got that from? He didn't exactly stock things like that! Sure, he had wine in his cellar but that was locked at the moment, especially since several bottles were worth thousands of dollars. No, he didn't trust his new bride not to steal from him, even as he was willing to buy her what she needed without too much argument. But they were two different things. As he watched her practically inhale the booze he couldn't help but recall a memory.... he remembered being told by Taylor about his new fiancee's file.... more than twice his own, though most of Kai's were war crimes and slaughters, all things that would never go to trial given the nature of their war, simply recorded for the sake of history.... her's however had been acts of destruction, violence and alcoholism, avoidable and senseless things.... Kai had believed them to be exaggerated, wondering how one young she-wolf could possibly have done all that, and who she had clearly pissed off to gain the reputation... yet after having met her, he knew exactly how. Still, he remained silent. Even as she sneered and remarked him as perfect. He quirked a brow, withdrawing his fangs from the now empty back and licking them to remove the last of the blood before dumping the empty bag in the bin. She thought he was perfect? Perfect body? Perfect life? Or was she simply trying to claim that Kai thought himself that way? He wasn't sure... but despite everything he found he actually wanted her to see him as perfect. Yes, he really was sick it seemed.

Of course his amusement didn't last for long when her scowl deepened and she accused him of turning willingly. A lie. And one he resented given exactly how he had been turned.... no, he had not picked that. She didn't give him time to answer, not that Kai would have, he had already decided that he would say no more to her this evening unless she insisted on making a ruckus and keeping him awake! Then they would have words.

It seemed she was tired despite the poison she continued to spout, and he had to wonder how nice it would be for his air to stop being polluted by her... a gag perhaps? Or was a muzzle more appropriate? With a shake of his head he followed her out, watching as she snuggled down on the sofa, he left as she fell asleep on the couch with her bottle in hand. Yes, he had his work cut out for him. Only when he was sure she was asleep did he do something he usually wouldn't have dreamt of.... he searched her bags. Not for her clothing or valuables, he could care less for either, and took care to repack her things with care and delicacy, neatly and nearly exactly how he had found them. In total he found six large bottles and sixteen little ones, hidden within underwear and rolled up socks.... clearly she had been hiding it from someone, and he suspected it wasn't him.... her father? Either way he would not have this stuff in his home. Without an ounce of hesitation he poured every last drop of alcohol down the drain, putting the bottles in the recycling box in the garden. While outside he allowed himself one lingering look at the sky, the stars look magnificent, completely oblivious to the chaos going on in his heart right now... still he was enjoying the peace and quiet of the open space that surrounded his home.... he didn't stop for long though, his bed was calling him, and given how much energy he would likely need fighting against Perstephone tomorrow it was better to retire early. He detoured to the living room, feeling guilty that he hadn't informed her of a more comfortable guest room above... still, he took out one of the spare blankets from the cupboard and covered her up. She might act like an animal, but that was not cause alone for Kai to treat her as one.

His room, no, he supposed it was their room now, was elegant and extravagant. All modern sleek. Black and white, but done in a way that looked comforting rather than clinical. Art work of red and gold splashed on the walls, the only hint of colour. A grand black wood four poster bed stood loud and proud in the centre, drawing his eye as well as his desire to rest.

It didn't take long for him to fall asleep... though his dreams were far from pleasant. Blue eyes, the face of an angel and the temper of a demon tormented him.

TIME SKIP

He rose early, only needing a few hours sleep, and of course given how much blood he had digest over the past few days he was more than full of energy and rearing to go! Silently he walked down the stairs, eyes looking into the living room to see Perstephone's white hair still on the sofa. He didn't disturb her, not yet, instead he wandered to the kitchen and took out a frying pan. It had been a very long time since he had cooked human food, but he still remembered how to make an omelette.... cracking the eggs in a jug he mixed them with ham and cheese and a touch of spinach for some much needed nutrients given how much she had been drinking the night before. Done mixing he poured the thick liquidy mixture into the pan, a satisfy sizzling sound hitting his ears and soon the scent of food filled the place. It did nothing for him, but he could appreciate the aroma at least. It brought back memories, not all happy, of his time as a human. A blink of an eye really considering how long he had lived now..... but it was still there, lurking in the background. When he had first changed he had tried to eat human food.... he could, but it tasted worst than dirt upon his tongue, naught but ash in his mouth, plus it did nothing for his hunger... no, it had taken him longer to realise what he now craved, longer still to dare attempting to take some. The thirst had been excruciating. He remembered that first victim all too clearly... she hadn't stood a chance.... and he had been living his life trying to repent for that sin ever since.

Looking up at the door he hoped the smell of food would entice Perstephone to come to him, if not, he would simply have to seek her out. Taking out a clean glass, one never used for blood, he filled it with orange juice and placed it next to her waiting plate.

Only then did he take out a fresh blood bag and pour the contents into a mug, deciding he wouldn't disturb her with his habit so early in the morning.... though why he was bothering to be considerate given her continued bad attitude he wasn't sure.
