Many years after Luffy and the straw hat pirates finally found the one piece and Luffy became the pirate king. Luffy was somehow captured and sentenced to death just as gold roger was before him. He left the one piece that he had found in a new place in the grand line just the same as well. But just before he was executed he passed down his straw hat to a child who he met and thought had potential to become the next great pirate king after him. So after Luffy was executed the child knew he wanted to become a pirate king just like Luffy if not better. So after the next few years the child set off on a small sail boat with nothing but his cloths and a barrel of food in hope of finding people to make his crew and become the new straw hat pirates.
