The more I see, the less I know. ⊹⊱⋛⋋∬ ALLIANA ∬⋌⋚⊰⊹ ℓocation:Seal 101 ✧ ғeeling:Calm ✧ тhoughts:Where to begin? The more I want to let it all go. The room was quite a large one, yet it felt so small. The doors were doubled, on to the front of the class room and one to the back. The ceiling was high, high enough for three students to stand on each other's shoulders and not yet reach the rafters. Piled from the floor to said ceiling were shelves and shelves of junk. It wasn't trash, mind you, but lots of objects that were old and new, broken and working, useful and useless. A right mess of junk. But each piece of junk was important. Each piece had a purpose and a personality.
Standing at the head of the class room was a woman dressed in a soft blue dress. Nearly blindingly white wings rested on her back as she watched students arrive and leave at their leisure. This school had no official schedule and students could learn at the pace that they wanted. All they had to do was find someone available and willing to teach. Alliana was available now.
On the white board behind the angel were some instructions. They read: xxxxxxxWelcome to Seal 101 xxxxxxxSeals are magical connections made by objects that have a form of life in them and mages. xxxxxxxSome objects are given life by being around a powerful mage for many years. xxxxxxxOther objects have always had life in them. xxxxxxxLife from these objects allows mages to achieve certain things, gain power, or obtain abilities when around them. xxxxxxxThese objects are very picky about whom they work for. Your task is to rummage through the shelves and find an object that accepts you. ((OOC: This is your importunity to gain the first magical object for your character. To participate, you must post at least 5 lines of role play per post. Your first post will be your character entering the class room and not much more than that.
With each post, including the first, you will draw a number from 1 to 50. This number will dictate what object your character will make a connection with. [See Post #2 for the list]
Once your character has found the object, they will have to coax out its ability. To do this, draw a number from 1 to 25 and see the list in post 2.
The first few posts are a direct example of what is expected. Feel free to interact with other characters to pass the time while drawing.))

The nymph enters the class room, looking this way and that. Though it was well lit in the room, Corena found it hard to see. Her eyes were drawn by every little thing on the shelves and tables. So many objects, yet so little dust. It must have been magic. The girl's brown eyes turned to the white board as she read the instructions. OOC: Here is my first post. Note how it is just her entering. The number rolled with this post will tell me if she has found an item or not. If the number drawn is one that corresponds with an object, my next post will be rp of her selecting the object and it liking her back and I would also draw for the power. If the number I get here does not match an item, I will post her picking up an item and the item not responding to her as well as roll again.

OOC: So I didn't get an object number. Time to post something fun about her not finding an object that likes her. You can also use this "filler" post to interact with other characters. Corena steped cautiously forward and ran her fingers over several items. There were so many things she had never seen before. Some must have been from other worlds, other objects might have been from hers but not for people of her caste. Her curious eyes fell on a red button hanging on a golden string. Gently, her soft hand touched the button and she called out to it mentally...
...nothing. The button didn't feel alive to her and so she moved on.

So we know we have found number 24 which is a pair of gloves. We can pick whatever appearance of gloves that we want and role play it out. At the same time I need to roll for the ability that comes with the object. The button was a wash, which was a shame. Corena would have liked to have that shiny red button. Her foot steps are light and echo softly in the quiet room. Something white and soft catches her eyes. A pair of gloves. They are soft as silk with lace trim on them. Again, the girl's eyes close as she focuses on the gloves. Her inner voice calls out to them and...
...she is filled with warmth. The gloves respond to her.

OOC: I got lucky and rolled a power on the first try. Lucky me. If I had not, I would simply role play this post out as showing someone the item, trying to talk to the item, or something similar to pass the time. Now that I do have the power, controlling spiders, I can decide how to limit it or use it. The choice is mine just as the choice will be yours with your object. Be sure to make it specific. It is a small object and should only be able to do a little bit. Corena put on the gloves and the feeling she received from them seemed to grow happier. The gloves began to glow soft gold, the same color as Corena's aura. The girl smiled... until she saw what was crawling over the gloves. Spiders, two of them. Long legged, furry bodied spiders. Now, being a fauna user, Corena loves most living things. Spiders... not so much. The girl bites her lip as she holds back a scream.
Off, off, get it off. As if to follow her thoughts, the spiders slid off her gloves and onto the floor. Corena blinked. Did they just listen to me?
"Dance." The two spiders began to dance a good jig. This brought the smile back to Corena's face. She spotted another spider on the wall and commanded it to dance as well. Nothing happened. Conserned, she turned back to the dancing spiders. "Stop dancing and sit."
The two stopped and did what could only be a spider sitting. It seemed the gloves could only control these two spiders. That was more than enough for her.

Brady had looked all over the place for some kind of school schedule, but after gathering up the courage to go to the help desk, he found out that he just needed to enter a class willing and ready to teach. It was a new concept, but Brady rather liked that idea. At east now, he could sleep all day if he wanted and go to class when he felt like it; or rather, when his aura felt like it.
'Sealing?' Brady thought to himself, passing one of the doors. He never really met any of the teachers except that frog woman that gave him the test, so this would be a good chance to meet a teacher. Brady poked his head in, reading the board, and cautiously walked in. He waved at the teacher at the front. "Sorry, just looking around..." He felt so out-of-sorts. How did one speak to a teacher in a place with magic? Especially one with gorgeous long hair.

The angel's face broke into a gentle, calming smile. Her lips parted slightly as she giggled. "It is quite alright. Come in and look, that is the purpose of this class. To teach you how to look at objects properly." Her hand motioned to the desk before her, several objects sat on it. "All of these hold life and one might just want to share it with you."
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she sized up the student. He seemed rather casual in his learning. She couldn't feel as much eagerness from him as she could from others who kept their noses in books.

"On the desk? Here?" Brady pointed to the very desk she meant and walked up to it, and to her. He was so tall compared to other people, sometimes it gave him a strain having to look like an awkward oaf. "Ah-I'm... Brady. Long. In Oak room 1, boys- well you know the boys side, 'cause I'm obviously, heh..." He turned his little awkward smile into a wide awkward smile, deciding to keep his mouth shut for once and look at the little trinkets.
Wow, there were a few odd ones. A spatula, broken pieces of stuff, and old useless things, mostly. Did all this stuff really have a mind of its own? Well he remembered his dad saying something about this sort of thing. "But... How do I know if I feel a con-Ooh~" Brady noticed a pocket-watch. He didn't even think before he picked it up, but after a second he noticed the watch had a light 'Rck' sound for every second it passed. Almost like a frog. Jeez, that's got to be no coincidence.
Brady ran his fingers down the chain, and he kept examining it, as if there was something precious about the item but he couldn't figure out what. "This is neat," Brady mumbled, trying to downplay his fascination. Even if she is a teacher, Brady was determined to play a more aloof part.

☾Verta Sans☽ ☤Location:Seal 101 Feelings:Bored Thoughts:Ooo...What's this?☤ Verta didn't have any intention of going to this Seal thing, but as he was passing he caught a glimpse inside the room and it caught the simple part of his mind. So many shineys. He stepped into the room tentatively, glancing around to see who all was there. The attention he was paying to people didn't last long before it transferred back to the objects on the shelves.

☾Verta Sans☽ ☤Location:Seal 101 Feelings:Curious Thoughts:So many things.☤ Verta wandered through the shelves, not really paying much attention to anyone. He ran his hands over multiple objects. A necktie, a scarf, a dog collar, a necklace, even a spatula. This was quite the strange assortment of goods, but there was no doubt in his mind that there was a reason for them, particularly with one of the teachers sitting at the head of the room over-watching everything. Nothing seemed to pop out at him, unfortunately.

☾Verta Sans☽ ☤Location:Seal 101 Feelings:Beginning to get worried Thoughts:What if I'm not good enough...☤ Still nothing jumped out at him. Something about this was bothering him. If nothing jumped out shortly he would have to wait until the next seal to get...whatever...these things were. Instead of touching the items, he resorted to scanning through them methodically, top to bottom, left to right, as they sat on the shelves. Now some of the stranger things started to pop out to him. A can of beans? What the... With that he actually stepped forward and picked up the can, tumbling it around in his hands.

((HA! Controlling arachnids again. XP ))
"Hm?" Brady noticed there was a second knob on the side. He was sure one was to change the time, but what was this other one? "Well, in the case of a curious button; you press it." Brady rose the watch and pressed the button. The watch had a quick mist of green aura surround it for a second, which convinced Brady of being magic enough. Still, it wasn't all that impressive.
Something cast a shadow over Brady, which was quite a feat to do. Brady knew that whatever cast the shadow, he wouldn't see it if her just didn't turn around. In fact, he should close his eyes and run. Yea, that seemed like a good idea! On the count of three; one, two-
Whatever it was nudged Brady on the back and Brady raised his hands in surrender. "No! Don't do it! I've got a family!"
Whatever it was stopped, but its shadow was still there. Slowly... very slowly, Brady turned around.
"H-ho-ho-hooooooooly jeez." Brady was looking practically face to face with a giant scorpion. Brady took a step back and knocked his leg on the desk. "G-aah-"
The scorpion took two steps back as well. Then it made a noise almost like what Brady just did. Brady looked at the scorpion, and then raised the pocket watch. The scorpion moved its head, looking at the watch. "Y-you... Are you serious?" Brady moved the watch and every which way the scorpion looked at it. "So the watch summons a giant scorpion. Okay then." He looked at the teacher, almost as if he expected her to explain everything. "A GIANT..." Brady raised his hands apart wide, "SCORPION." then he gestured to the pocket watch. "THIS thing. HOW?"
He looked at the scorpion that continued to stand there. "...I'm going to ride it," Brady decided, though he was a little bit nervous... A lot nervous. The scorpion didn't stop him, and it even leaned down so he could get on. "This is impossible! No one is going to believe me."
The scorpion turned around, looking for a place to crawl away, but after Brady leaned left, so did the scorpion. "To dinner, my faithful steed!" Brady shouted, only to realize the scorpion was too big to go through the door. "Awww... Dang it." He got off of the scorpion and looked at him, then looked at the watch. "Okay, um... You can go home now." He said, not sure what else to tell it.
Sure enough, the scorpion buried itself back into the trinkets and disappeared. Brady sighed and looked at the watch, putting it in his pocket. "So... Its alright if I keep this, right?" He asked the teacher, "I mean... Giant scorpion. That could come in handy."

☾Verta Sans☽ ☤Location:Seal 101 Feelings:Excited Thoughts:Wait a minute...☤ The can felt like any normal can in Verta's hands. Shrugging, he set the can back where he'd found it. Just when the can touched the shelf something caught his eye off to the side of the room propped up against the wall. A surfboard. Strange, he'd never surfed, hell he'd never even seen the ocean, although he would admit that he quite enjoyed the feeling of being near water.
Verta cautiously approached the board, as he did so a light glow began emanating from it. A color that matched his aura entirely. It was the exact same shade of pale blue that he'd seen the wind creature emanating in his mind. His hand reached out to the board and he could feel a vibration coming from it. The surfboard was speaking to him, he knew it.
