Left alone at a young age, Twain knows that to survive, you have to be the best of the best, meaning you have to be the smartest, the strongest, and the fastest, especially in the world she was living in. She shows no mercy, earning her a reputation as heartless, yet she’s cunning enough to know when to let her prey go. Twain has even been compared to a snake, as she is manipulative, intelligent, and adaptable to her environment. She thinks out of the box, and isn’t afraid to try new things. What she wants to be seen as is unique, and so, even if whatever she’s doing looks crazy to other people, Twain will still do it. Often blunt and straight to the point, she doesn’t care about insulting others or being rude, yet when she is the one who is being insulted, Twain is stubborn. Fearless and daring, she also loves taking chances.

Technically, Twain wasn’t supposed to exist. A child born of two races that hated each other was supposed to be impossible. Yet, there she was. Her father was a demon prince. Her mother was a contestant in the games. They fell in love at first sight. Sadly, soon after Twain was born, her mother died, killed by one of her opponents. Their affair was found out, Twain’s father was banished to who knows where, and Twain herself was sentenced to take part in the games. Eventually, the now abandoned child knew that she couldn’t keep on crying--big girls don't cry--and she swore to make herself stronger. Twain soon gained an infamous reputation as the heartless fighter that had never lost a battle, and gave no mercy to her opponents. Every corrupt nation has an uprising, and Twain was soon contacted by the revolutionaries to join their cause. She refused, but when meeting with the rebels, the government stormed the meeting and while fighting them off, Twain was stabbed in the eye, which led to her partial blindness.
While running away, Twain was cornered into the palace, and so she looked for a place to hide while the government’s soldiers ran by. She stumbled across what she thought was a storage closet (which of course, it wasn’t). When she opened the door, instead of finding herself in a cramped space, Twain found herself blinking in the sunlight and looking out at the Academy…Thus began her new life of being free.
